Pleasantly surprised by this camera. I upgraded to the R5 recently from the Eos R, but wanted a backup camera and something for my wife to use. I am surprised that I like the RP as much as the Eos R. And even more surprised that I almost like it as much as the R5. It takes excellent quality images, is super lightweight. It is the perfect size and weight to be just an all around “fun” camera to use. I look forward to taking it with me on my next vacation.

Absolutely love this camera, easy to use and fits conveniently in the hand. Came from a Canon M50 Mkii so this is a nice upgrade for mirrorless camera.

I’m obsessed! Years ago a family member knew I wanted a new camera and gifted me a Canon Rebel t5i. I liked it, but never had that excited feeling I had when I got my first DSLR. I took several film photography classes in college and really missed the feel of my film camera. I didn’t really know what I wanted this year when I started looking but a Best Buy associate was able to compare a mirrorless to film for me. He insured me that it was easy to return it if I tried it out for a few days and decided it wasn’t for me, so I went for it. HECK NO I’m not returning this thing! I love that I can use my phone as a shutter release button. I took a great shot of myself with my two daughters with my camera, a chair that I set the camera on, and my phone. I’m ready to blow it up and frame it. I love that I can skip uploading my images to my computer (that is slow and needs replaced) and get them right on my phone. I love that the camera senses if my face is near the viewfinder and turns the display screen off, but turns it back on as I move away from the camera. It takes beautiful shots. I know that there are higher quality mirrorless cameras out there but as someone who just wants to take photos of nature, my kids, and family photos of friends, this is more than enough to get the job done, and done well.

A cheap, mediocre camera for your L glass

I was shooting with a Sony A7 II, Sigma MC-11 adapter, and Canon glass - 24 - 104 L F4, 70 - 200 L F4, and 50mm 1.8. Honestly, the Sony is a much better camera in several different ways (e.g., faster FPS, IBIS, sturdier build). HOWEVER if you're adapting Canon glass to it you only get the most basic focusing modes. So, when the price dropped on the RP and included the RF-EF mount, I got it. It has the usual intentional handicaps out of the box courtesy of Canon (e.g., it won't charge thru the USB-C port with all external batteries, you have NO manual control if you're using the electronic shutter, some weird video oddities, etc), but the big draw is that you can use your Canon EF and EF-S (with diminished pixel count) lenses. That made the difference for me. Plus, I've been shooting Canon since my film days and using it was second nature to me.

I'm a newbie - purchased this camera to make audition tapes for my work as an actor. This camera is intuitive for a beginner - even in autofocus, the videos come out looking like professional films... and the results just get better as you make manual adjustments. Couldn't be happier with the value, ease of use, and range of possibilities.

I purchased this camera as a cheaper backup option for my Canon R6. I shoot wedding photography and previously had a EF mount camera as my backup body and wanted something more up to date just in case. Although I do notice a difference compared to my R6, this is a very impressive camera for the price and is perfect for what I was looking for.

This camera is an awesome lightweight mirrorless camera. Sold my canon 6dmii to upgrade to the rp. Both cameras were very similar, this one is more travel size and better possible glass. Still can use old ef lenses easily with mount. Get the ring controlled adapter, worth the extra $100.

Love the camera, but not the best for Vloging. Viode is shaky because of no image stabler built in, but takes amazing pictures.

Great rating and a great unit with ease to work with. I researched pleany prior to entering the mirrorless era, but feel very comfortable with this unit thus far. Menu and setting are fairly simple too. I strongly recommend it for sure.

The Canon EOS RP is a remarkable addition to Canon's mirrorless lineup, offering an excellent balance of performance, portability, and affordability. This full-frame camera is a testament to Canon's commitment to catering to both enthusiasts and professionals alike. One of the standout features of the EOS RP is its compact and lightweight design. Weighing in at just under 500 grams, it's an ideal companion for photographers on the go, without sacrificing image quality. The 26.2-megapixel full-frame sensor delivers stunningly detailed images, capturing rich colors and impressive dynamic range

I bought this as an upgrade from a t7i, and it’s everything I needed it to be. I can shoot at a much higher ISO, without the pictures looking grainy. The FPS isn’t super fast, but I didn’t buy the camera for speed. It’s going to be used for portraits, so as long as you aren’t doing sport photography, you should be fine. The only thing I’d mark it down for, is the sensor located by the EVF turns the LCD screen off every time I turn the camera size ways to take a picture. It’s not a deal breaker, just kind of annoying when I primarily use the screen during photographs. Overall, this camera is AMAZING for the price, and it has everything I love from canon.
