This camera is great! My wife and I really love it. We both come from a Nikon background, using the DSLR D50 and D40 and this is really a step up. Its a fast camera and seems to take great shots both in auto and manual modes. The mirrorless is a great option that we believe that most cameras are going towards.

This is my first camera, it's a little overkill for a first timer, However, that doesn't make this a bad camera, it's a user error. I am using it to record tutorials, and love the quality.

Upgrading from a EOS Rebel T3. Purchased this camera with the EF-RF mount adapter with control ring. This camera is money well spent. The advancement in camera technology from 2012 to now has been a jump I have enjoyed throughly. I like the new functionality of the control ring on the lenses, giving me more control without having to pull the camera from my eyes. Doesn’t have all the bells and whistles that the R, R5, or the R6 but for a first camera into Full Frame… this camera is worth the jump. Note to those looking to upgrade but was like me and didn’t want to sink into the bank for the R5 or R6; EF lenses on the adapter gives you full frame. This should be self explanatory but when I initially did my research it was a little ambiguous. EF-S lenses are locked to 1.6 crop. 5 frames per second in continuous shooting is good enough for my needs, and was better than most professional reviewers would describe. This camera is well built and I am itching to shoot more. Highly recommend.

I love this camera! The full-frame feature is great. It is light, easy to use but also has loads of programming options. I'm an amateur photographer and have been taking pictures for 20 years. I've always used Canon products and my last camera was the 70D. Very happy with this upgrade.

An amazing camera, especially for being a full frame mirrorless camera. The camera is basically a larger version of the Canon EOS M50, with additional features from the Canon EOS R. The lens is every zoom you would need for basic landscape/portrait photography, and film. The only thing I dislike is the EVF, but there is no way to avoid that with a mirrorless camera.

So I am no photographer so take this with a grain of salt. I upgraded from an SL2 and M50 and was ready to go full frame for YouTube videos and general photography. For video and general photography it is awesome. Stationary things its as good as the lens. If you want to take a lot of fast action shots, that's where is struggles. Taking pictures for sports or birds in flight it can show some weakness with the speed of the shutter. For the price your getting a full frame camera with a lot of capabilities. It has some limits.

    High Dynamic Range sucks

    Posted .

I have been an amateur photographer for the better part of 40 years. To begin with let me acknowledge that this camera is not a "pro" camera. I bought this camera because my EOS D70 stopped working one day. It was my daily driver so to speak and I have multiple cameras. At this point in my life I did not need anything fancy as Im slowing down (photography wise) and wanted a smaller mirrorless camera to take on trips. Couldn't be more unhappy with the shots. The High Dynamic range sucks with most of my shots having the shadows indiscernible and not recoverable in Photoshop. Flash photos with my old Speedlite 580 EX are fine, but honestly my iphone 14 promax takes just as good or better shots and the High Dynamic range is soooo much better. Spend a bit more and get a "real" DSLR or buy a much newer model as maybe by now they have figured out the HDR. Sharpness is also not as good as my Iphone promax14, but that may be a personal preference as some photographers don't like super sharp shots either.

Don't fall prey to the Sony tax. This camera goes toe to toe with Sony cameras for a fraction of the cost. My wife is by no means a professional photographer but you wouldn't be able to tell when looking at the photos she takes with this camera.

I love this camera. This was my upgrade from a Rebel t4i. I’m not a professional by any means but this camera and the pictures it takes makes me feel like one. It has great clarity and low light levels. This camera was a little challenging to get used to compared to the simplicity of the rebel but now it is natural. I recommend spending time practicing at home before you go out and try to shoot something in action. Take time to learn the controls if you are making a big shift like I did. This camera doesn’t have the bells and whistles of a much more expensive model but it makes a perfect camera for a passionate amateur like myself. Skip if you are a pro but great for hobbyist looking to upgrade.
