The Canon EOS RP Mirrorless Camera with RF24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM Lens is a compact, lightweight camera that offers impressive image quality. As someone who's still learning photography, I can say it's perfect for beginners. The full-frame sensor delivers sharp, detailed photos, and the RF lens offers versatile zoom for various shooting situations. With its user-friendly controls, fast autofocus, and solid video capabilities, it’s an excellent choice for those just starting out but still looking for great performance. The balance of price, features, and ease of use makes it an ideal option for newcomers to photography.

A Great All-Round Camera

I was thinking of getting the Canon M6, which has a smaller APS-C sensor. But for not much more money, I was able to get Canon RP with its large full-frame sensor. I am particularly impressed with the "kit" lens that came it, which does all I need. The one other lens I might buy is a fast 50mm lens for low-light shots. My only complaint is the battery, which does run down more quickly than I would like. I use the camera sometimes as a webcam for super-sharp Zoom calls, but I have to be careful not to run out of power. That said, the RP is a great multi-purpose camera. It is very easy to use and adjust, and the pictures are amazing.

Good Price vs. Features

This was a great camera to get back into photography. The package was priced appropriately, and I was looking for a full-frame camera. The camera body is lightweight, and the features will accommodate my needs. There are more features on more advanced cameras, but those prices go up quickly - especially for the full-frame line of cameras.

For anyone moving up from APS-sized sensors this camera is the one to have. Small form factor and light weight make it easy and comfortable to handle while the full-frame sensor makes for incredible DOF even with the kit lens. Wonderful in low light and great to handle even in full manual. I especially like the control placement. I haven't had any issues with autofocus as of yet and the eye and face tracking have taken some getting used to but are a welcomed addition to the creative arsenal. A great EDC camera, it doesn't get in the way of itself.

Still a great entry-level mirrorless camera

I'm delighted with this camera. Way back in the days of film I used to do a lot of manual photography (most of it underwater). I decided I wanted to get back in and started with an entry-level full-frame mirrorless camera and the RP fit my needs and my budget perfectly. Despite the fact that the RP was released in 2019, I think it still represents terrific value.
I've used it in low-light settings taking pictures of our Christmas lights outside at night. I've used Aperture-Priority and Shutter-Priority mode and it produces far better images than I could obtain with my smart phone.
I'm now experimenting with full manual mode and also with the "nifty fifty" STM prime lens. I surely do not have the budget for L-series lenses (and above) but so far I'm very happy with what I have taken using the kit 24-105 zoom lens and the 50mm f1.8 prime.
It's great to get back into this again!

This is a great camera. Does everything you need for high quality images. It's lite, small but not to small, it fits your hands well. It can go full auto, or full manual, The 24-105 lens is also nice and sharp. This is the perfect walk around full frame camera.

I've used many different cameras from canon, Sony, and Nikon, this one's my favorite.
Why?
It's Compact but still has enough area to hold it well
The Autofocus is Absolutely Amazing
The colors look great straight out of box, I use the old faithful profile with sharpness turned down for even better effect.
It gets usable footage in low light

I bought this camera to make the jump into mirrorless"full-frame" photography. It was/is the least expensive of that hat type available right now so a good starting point. The smaller size/weight is a plus for me also.
I have always loved Cannon's color and their menu set up and this model doesn't disappoint. Although it doesn't have the fastest shoot rate, I used it in quite a few scenarios with running children, pets, and racing cars. It was just fine. It does not have any stabilization in the camera so you have to be aware of shutter speed and careful support if not using a tripod.
The packaged kit lens is actually very good.
Of course, there are a few features and capabilities (especially if mostly interested in video) that the newer/more expensive models have but if you want to get into full-frame mirrorless cameras, especially if you have some existing Cannon lens', this is a solid camera.

Absolutely love this camera! I am very much a canon girl any way but the clarity of this camera in basic 1080p is awesome! super user friendly too, especially if you are familiar with canon. The flip out screen is super convienent as well. Being a Light weight mirrorless camera is a definite plus!
The one negative I have about this camera is that in order to shoot in 4K the camera crops the footage! sometimes this can be really frustrating when filming but I knew that before purchasing it.
Besides that it is a great camera!

This camera has been a blast using. I am not be any means an expert but it is user friendly and takes great photos. I do wish it would have come with a flash in relation to cost but to be fair I am not sure that is standard.

You get what you pay for. The image quality with this camera and the RF lenses is superior. I switched from a rebel seven and control wise, it’s really not much different. But the image quality the crispness of the photos is excellent.

I bought this camera ahead of a big vacation to iceland. I have had smaller cameras in the past but I wanted something that was a step up to help me really capture the beauty of the landscape. This camera did not disappoint. I was shocked by how long the battery lasted - I didnt even need to use my backup battery throughout the day. I just wish lenses werent so expensive, as I would love to continue to upgrade this camera.

For the price this is an excellent camera! Light, easy to use, fast. I would definitely recommend. the lens are a bit pricey if you're just a novice using it for fun but the EF adapter for your EF lenses makes it an easier pill to swallow.

Perfect camera. I switched from Nikon to Canon. This camera has so many options and is super easy to use. I rarely have to use a flash in low light settings. I use this camera for work and have not had any issues at all.
