Adding this to my new lens 70/200 F2.8 is II lens, gave us great photos anywhere we used it, especially in Alaska.

This is a must for any serious DSLR photographer. The ability to immediately double the zoom capability of your lens is great.

Depending on what you are using it for, it does get you closer, but you lose quality and depth of field.

The unit wouldn't focus fast enough to work with a proper lens that I purchased.

I bought to extend the reach on my EF 100-400mm zoom lens on my Rebel T3. However, the autofocus will NOT work on it at any F stop. The ONLY way to get this to autofocus is to switch to Live mode but the autofocus is slow. I discovered this after visiting a camera store and calling Canon.
I'd return this if I could but I am 60 days past the Best Buy return date. So I'm stuck with using this on manual focus or switching to Live mode to get autofocus....which can be tough for shooting birds/wildlife. Learn from my $450 mistake.
