I got mine on sale for $140, when my ink jet died. Laser printers don't mind if you only use them occasionally, plus they don't require the head cleaning nonsense like ink jets.

Canon has always impressed me with the attention to detail and quality. I manage 3000 printers at work. Real crisp printing.

Particularly difficult was setting up the access to my wifi network as my password involves both alpha and numerical characters. Without the help of the YouTube I would have returned the printer.

Great Value and worth it over inkjet printers

As long as you don’t need to print color, this is easily worth spending extra over a cheaper ink jet. Mainly because it will print so many more pages than an inkjet on one toner cartridge.
