I have been using this printer for about a month for work. It took a bit of work to get it connected to both my laptop and my desktop. I had to reach out to Canon customer service. Now it is working. It's fast. I can't say much about ink because I just started using it. So far so good!

Works great, exactly as expected. Perfect printer if you are looking for a high yield black and white printer and a low cost per print for the segment. Print quality is good, it is fast and the interface is easy enough to use. The only downside I can think of is that it does not support 5 ghz wifi, only 2.4 ghz.

    Canon is the best!

My old Canon inkjet decided to retire so, I had to purchase a new printer/copier. Decided to buy a laser jet since the inkjet cartridges were getting expensive & even using black/white print seemed to be using the magenta, or drying out, etc. I also required a scanner and, as a back up an old time fax. Purchased this Canon since they seem to be the best. Managed to set up everything except scanner so, the great Geek Squad helped me out there as well as ensuring all other facets of machine was working properly. It works very well. Only issue is that because laser jet ink is only black all of the print seems to be gray so, sometimes not easily readable. I guess that's the trade off when switching from ink jet to laser jet.

Prints double-sided much faster than previous ones saving paper and haven't had to change ink cartridge after several hundred pages printed. Would have changed it 3-4 times on other models. Excellent print quality! Easy to wirelessly print from iPhone and other WiFi devices.

    Works Well - Toner Expensive

This printer is great but the toner is ridiculously expensive and 3rd party toner no longer works in our printer. Troubleshooting with Canon has not gone well. We have other printers in use we like better and work better with 3rd party toner including Xerox and Brother printers.

We've had the printer for almost 6 weeks. It replaces an excellent Epson WF3540 that finally failed beyond my repair capability after 10 years. The MF452DW was installed on about the same footprint. Initially, it recognized only one wifi network freq but had difficulty with the password. We have 3 computers, 2 tablets, 2 phones, and another printer connected (not all working at once), so there's no issue with the wifi (Motorola MG8725). It became frustrating after several attempts to connect, that I was about ready to box it up and send it back. Finally, it was accepted in the network. Test printed without issue. It prints as one would expect from a laser. Paper tray is usefully large, and duplex is easy. Copies are spot on. It has a USB but no SD card port. We still have issues with wifi connection. It will password connect to the 2.4 but not 5ghz (same passwords so I don't get it). Sending a print job, it will not simply print. I have to go to wireless lan settings and re-accept the password which is often, but not always, accepted. I would hardwire it to the router, which would mean relocating the router to the room with the printer, but really? Just to check before hitting post on this review, I attempted to send a print job and, as expected, got an error message on printing. Going through the reviews this doesn't look like an issue for anyone else so it could well be poor installation and user error. I've just deleted and reinstalled the printer. It works for now. Will see tomorrow.

Definitely not my favorite printer. Unfortunately, I’ve had many issues with this product. Paper jams. Anytime you scan anything it scans crooked despite putting it in straight. Maybe it’s an operator error but several in my office have had the same issue. If you’re looking for something that does excellent with copying, and you’re not scanning very often. This could be a good printer.

Great purchase!!! This was sooo easy to set up. That being said, I have not checked or set up the scan portion. I literally plugged it in. Entered the WiFi info and starting printing immediately with AirPrint and our Macs/iPhones/iPads etc. It is fast. Quiet. Great quality. Very happy!!

It was a little taller than expected so some adjustments had to be made to accommodate my new printer. I am still getting through reading the manual but It seems easy to use. I haven’t had been able to use the printer a lot since purchase but I am overall satisfied.

This canon printer is so easy to use. It prints super fast too. We bought this to replace an HP printer, bought only a year ago that was a nightmare from the start. Everything about this canon printer is superior to the HP.

I got tired of having to buy often expensive now ink for color inkjet printer and decided to go with laser . I am printing mostly black and white anyways. The printer was super easy to setup. Prints fast with high quality even on a fine prints. The option to print from my phone is a huge plus. Haven't used all the options it offers yet. I have it on a discount, but would pay a full price if I have to buy it again. Highly recommend.

Worst printer I have ever seen

Never seen a printer like this. Every time I go to print, I have to go walk across the room to touch the touch screen and wake it up. It doesn't matter setting the sleep times to two hours, if it sleeps a print job refuses to wake it up. Mac OS, PC, iOS devices. Same on all of them. Printer keeps wanting me to select the tray and paper type. The current software shows a tray 1 and a tray 2. There is only ONE tray on this. There is a manual feed above it that you have to open up to feed. The printer is actually seeing itself and having two auto trays. I know there's a model that has this, so it seems to me they have the wrong firmware in this. I have to go and tell it what tray and paper type to print, right along with waking it up, every time I print if it's gone to sleep. INSANE. I've tried all the things I can find online to fix the ridiculous sleep thing. There is nothing that solves it, not setting Static IP, not reinstalling the software, not resetting the entire printer. The whole FOUR SCREENS of menus is completely ridiculous. Talk about overkill complication. I have a TR8600 Canon inkjet sitting right next to this, and it has none of these issues, it does what I tell it to when I tell it to. We have two Canon D570 laster printers in the family, and they have NONE of these issues. What's with the archaic flip-phone texting-type menu for entering your Wifi info too? Wow. Please hire some people who know how to create a menu. Really, this kind of menu for setting up your Wifi is literally from the late 90's!! Again, do not buy this. The one I have has 200 pages on it, hardly anything for a supposed small-office class printer. I'm gonna try to get rid of it really cheap or give it away to someone who doesn't care if they have to get up and cross the room to start a print job, or have it right next to them where it doesn't matter. The printer is completely unacceptable trash to even sell to the public.
