This is a pretty great printer. I picked it up because it had a huge discount recently. If you are used to inkjets then upgrading to a laser jet will seem like a huge jump in quality to you. The dots are really small and the color reproduction seems OK (but not superb). The toner seems a little pricey but when you calculate the cost per page it is actually a bit lower than ink jet cartridges. I subtracted a star because the unit is heavy and unwieldy--I recommend getting someone to help you lift it out of the box safely and bring it to its home in your office.

This was an upgrade to wireless. Love it. The setup was easy. The colors are good and works well with the crafting I am doing, transfers to painted items and fabric. Worked with an associate in store to make my selection. When I got to checkout, surprise, special started that day and was another $100 off.

I have been through countless inkjet printers and finally decided to go laser. I have zero regrets about the switch. This all-in-one printer is fast, accurate, and uses a lot less ink than an inkjet printer. The software installer allows you to scan directly from your computer and pre-select a download location. The ink is expensive but you can get a longer life out of a cartridge as compared to an inkjet. Be aware the printer is heavy and rather large but I will sacrifice compact for quality any day of the week. Got it on sale for $184, what a steal. A friend of mine also purchased this printer and has the same excellent results.

I bought it to replace a inkjet printer/scanner. On the positive note, it does print fast, black and while and in color. There are multiple toners, so when you run out of one primary color, you can buy a new toner. It is a network printer connected to wifi so every computers in the house can use it. It does get detected immediately by any windows and Chromebook. To print from your phone use the Canon business printer app (Not the regular one) for this printer to print or scan directly from your phone. It is function that I used a lot when I need to send a document by email or to attach for expense. It is good to have a feeder so you can scan a block of documents.
On the negative side, the scanner definition is only 300 dpi, lower then my old inketjet printer and also it is only one side and it does not come with a software to allow to scan one side of a block of papers and then scan the other side and merge it. There are programs on the internet that do that but usually for an extra fee. It would have been great to have this include with the software. Do not try to print with photo paper. Also if you run on linux, you will not find the driver to scan. It is not do fax, actually technically it does if you have modem on your desktop computer but personally I do not call that a fax machine.
So it is a good printer if you have a lot to print or get it for a good discount.

After my Canon multi printer stopped working (programmed obsolesce?), I bought this printer. It is fast and great for printing in color business documents and kids school homework. The scanning is just good not high definition. Just be aware that the network scanning does not work for Linux machine as there is currently no drivers. I wish it would print and scan both sides. Does not do fax by itself.

Was tired of inkjet printer so I go this instead for our home because of the sale they had. Really great color laser quality. Reasonably fast once warmed up, for my use. It is quite big though, too big probably for most homes. This is probably more of a small business printer. Wireless works well and phone app is good but it keeps asking me to send my data over to Canon which I don't like.

I've been waiting a long time to buy a laser printer. I was hesitant to buy one on the 'cheaper" end of the spectrum. But this printer is awesome, it's fast, it prints beautifully on laser paper and installation was a breeze. I am very happy with this purchase. It also came with ink and despite having printed a bunch of material, I still haven't needed to buy more.

I love my printer and I use it heavily every day! As a medical student I needed a cheap way to print in color and decided that purchasing my own printer was the best route. Unfortunately, I was misinformed by a BestBuy employee on the printers toners. I was told that one toner was all it took... And I purchased an extra one for backup. Well... That was only black. The printer holds 4 toners total and the ink costs as much as the printer to refill!!! Fortunately I have found an offbrand company to purchase ink through! I would not have purchased this printer if I had known this... Although, I do enjoy the printer.... But cannot afford the toner refills!

Can't speak much to reliability as I've only owned it for a few weeks now, but so far so good. Easy setup, easy access to toner, good quality, scanner and ADF work great. Small paper tray (only 150 pages) is a bit annoying, but no big deal. Haven't even messed with default settings yet; works pretty well right out of the box.

We purchased this to replace an inkjet printer that had been accidently knocked a few times breaking the print output extension (not tray). We were also tired of constantly replacing the ink cartridges. So far this printer has printer several hundred perfect pages, no paper jams or multiple page pulls, and printed pages are safe in the large receiving area. A quick warning on weight - it is a heavy printer. I was able to handle moving myself but suggest having a second person for safety.

you better have two people to move and install this laser printer. weighs about 60 lbs. Made for black and white or large volume color jobs on full sized letter paper. NOT made for printing photos on 4X6 or 5X7 photo paper. You need an ink jet for that

Honestly I purchased this printer for it's price. It was on sale and my daughter needed a printer ASAP. I found the model on Best Buy's website and read a couple of reviews. I was satisfied with what I had read about the model of printer so I purchased it. I also purchased the replacement plan as it was only $20 for 2 years. I really wasn't expecting much from a $199 color laser printer but I was pleasantly impressed with the print quality. The quality rivals our older but $1500 OKI color laser it replaced. Also the printer portion works splendidly with Linux using the printer drivers from Canon's website. The scanner worked under Linux using the demo of the pay software VueScan. I was unable to get the scanner working using the usual free tools. But as an alternative you can plug a usb drive into the printer itself and scan what ever you want straight to the usb drive. You can then edit the image on your computer using what ever software you like (I use GIMP).
My 3 daughters have been using the heck out of this printer via wireless from all over the house. We have 3 Linux computers and a Mac, all work very well. Over all knowing what I know now I'd recommend this model to anyone. Also the touch screen interface is really nice and has a plethora of options I can't even begin to dive into in a short review.

Have been looking for a color laser printer for a while. Switched from ink jet to laser a while back because my ink jet cartridges continually dried out and had to be cleaned every time I wanted to print. A complete waste. Found this printer at a great price and am not disappointed. Great print quality, and scanning to a folder on the computer is extremely convenient.

Good laser printer for a starter. You have to change settings to print both legal and standard paper, which tends to be a pain. But it prints good quality and relatively quick. I love that it is capable to hook up to wifi, so that I am able to print from my phone or my computer.
