A litttle help please

It gives detailed information for taking it out of the box, but little about setting it up, it tells you to choose yes or no to use "UI", and "remote UI, without saying what "UI" is. I came up with User information, which would imply needing a pin, or password to use it. I definitely don't want that, I nixed it. and of course couldn't connect. I wound up having Geek squad come and correct it. HUGE extra expense!
