    I purchased this device intending to hard wire it to my laptop. I was surprised to find out that it doesn't come with the necessary cable. Also, the instructions manual states two options: wireless or LAN cable plugged into your router. Turns out you can use a USB cable directly from the printer to your laptop. Why is this not included in the manual? I'm not familiar with LAN cable specs. Also, before plugging in a cable you have to download software from canon.com Great. I entered my operating system and printer model number and got a list of SEVEN downloads. Two labeled, "recommended." What about the others? Setup has definitely not been easy.

    Nice printer but software wifi has been an issue. I had to reinstall it. The other issue is paper always prints with one edge bent which is not fixable due to design flaw printer must be replaced. Best buys return policy is not within 30 days so I was stuck with this faulty machine. Thank you
