Avoid this printer!
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had this printer for about a year. Stopped printing correctly in that time. Tried everything to fix. Looked online and was horrified to see that many people have had issues with this class of printer from Canon. Never again. Went right into the trash. Ashamed I thought Canon would do the job right.

So finicky!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the most frustrating printer. It is so temperamental. Don't you dare buy "counterfeit" ink cartridges (not OEM), it will never work without screaming at you. Connectivity is challenging. Sometimes you ask it to print and it just makes noise then stops. We have to "fix" this printer more than we get use out of it. Avoid it.

Mr
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a printer in store on 2/9/2024, on trying to buy the toner, was told they don't make that type anymore. So why did Best Buy sell it to me knowing well that I won't be able to buy the toner?

Colors are off...way off.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Priced point for a wireless color laser AIO was great. When I printed in B&W, it was fine. When I printed in color, it was off...like way off. I tried every troubleshooting technique in the manual and online. Nothing worked. Returned after a few days.

Get a Brother
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this because it was on sale. I should have checked the toner prices beforehand. Even the knockoff toner is close to $200. Do yourself a favor and get a Brother. Toner can be had for under $100 for a whole set.

Terrible Printer
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of the worst purchases I made. The manual is in 10 different languages on how to remove stickers and plug in only. Doesn't show how to setup the scanner/printer or any other functions. Canon doesn't even show this item on their website.

I should've known better.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The printer doesn't recognize my wifi password, even though my three computers are fine with it. I got the printer on my guest wifi, but then can't get the driver to download to my computer, neither by internet link nor the included disc. I should've bought an HP.

Driver could not install
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer is terrible. The drivers won’t install, and it cannot scan wirelessly to a computer—only wireless printing works. Tech support is impossible to reach, and no one seems to care. Would not recommend.

Unacceptable
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This unit will not stay on so in order to print anything, we must be next to the unit to press buttons. If this continues, I will return the unit and buy an HP reliable printer.

Died after only 3 months
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Horrible printer that lost connection with wireless completely after only 3 months. While it was working, everything was fine. But you don't want to waste your money on a printer lasting only 3 months. RIP.

Airprint is unreliable
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The printer mostly works….but airprint doesnt work 90% of the time. The printer goes into a sleep mode and in that mode airprint won’t work. You have to wake the printer up and then iOS can see it again. Kinda defeats the purpose of airprint.

Excellent for document printing
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a rule, laser printers aren't known for excellent photo printing capabilities. Still, I was pretty impressed with the Canon imageCLASS's ability to print decently crisp photos without the horrible grain I've seen in my previous Brother laser printers. Text comes out beautifully and this printer shines when it comes to document printing, which — alongside the scanning and faxing functionalities, makes this a brilliant printer for office settings or students or teachers printing off lots of documents/essays with the occasional photo or graphic for flare. Attached are images of some test prints with the originals for comparison. Scanned images generally look a bit better in person, but one can clearly see that colors are washed out and not quite accurate while text comes out quite sharp by contrast. Setting this printer up was fairly straightforward. Bewarned that it is quite heavy! At roughly 50 pounds you will absolutely need a second person to safely carry the printer, which the manual does note to its credit. It's also pretty large and bulky, particularly when it comes to verticality. Thanks to it using laser toner instead of ink, setup just required downloading some drivers from the Canon site (though they do include a CD with driver software on it, I prefer to get my drivers online in case there have been updates to the installation software or what have you) and getting the printer connected to the internet. This took maybe fifteen minutes in total, from unboxing to completed setup, and would be painless for most people. It's a pleasing white/black color scheme that looks clean and sleek. The printer is in general very quick. It averages printing at under 14 seconds per page and scanning at about 17 seconds per page, which is fast enough to print off a document in a hurry before class or a meeting. It has a touchscreen which makes usage a tad more convenient than printer models that require using a smartphone as controls, and the touchscreen is more or less responsive. I did have some issues getting touch to register correctly a couple of times, but with more careful inputting that issue went away which makes me inclined to think that could be easily chalked up to simple user error. The one area where this printer is really lacking, in my opinion, is in photo printing. Ironically for a printer named "imageCLASS", although it does print graphics and photos better than other laser printers I have tried, it still is not as vibrant as an inkjet. And, frankly, that's completely expected. Laser printers are moreso for document printing, where, again, this printer does shine. I did find it annoying that I had to do some digging to find out what types of paper this printer could take as that information wasn't in the included user guide nor the online manual, but I did manage to find out that this printer cannot take glossy paper — so if one is considering this printer primarily for photo printing, look elsewhere. It can print envelopes, which is a nice bonus for me. Outside of photos, for really most any other purpose it seems this printer can readily do the job! This is an easy recommendation for small businesses or anyone who prints plenty of documents and would find value in the cost savings a laser printer brings.

Poor Overall Experience
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.AirPrint will not work even with Canon support. Very difficult user interface. Too many categories and too complicated terminology. I have to reboot this printer every morning to get it to print. When it works, it works great.
