    Terrific upgrade!

I bought this to upgrade from inkjet printers for more high-volume printing, and I love it! Canon always delivers great printers. This was super easy to install on my desktop, Surface Pro, and my wife's laptop. I didn't use the included disc, I just downloaded the drivers from the Canon website. Printing from an Apple device is also easy as can be. The multi-function works great for copies and scanning...I don't use the fax, so I can't speak to that. As you would expect, the print quality is excellent. This printer has a lot more power than I probably need, but it was offered at such a good price that I couldn't resist dropping a little more money for a lot more device delivered. I definitely underestimated how big this machine it. I have plenty of space for it, but it is very heavy compared to your typical inkjet. Make sure you have ample space with solid support to ensure this stays upright. I would highly recommend this printer!

It is not as good at printing photo's as the firstCanon Printer I had. It prints documents very sell but photographs are very washed out, even if I use Glossy Photo paper.

Great printer, challenge to learn/use scanner

Excellent quality printer. Reasonable footprint for the functionality (heavy, though). Printing and copying is a breeze, but learning to use the scanner is challenging. This is for home use, and our old HP all-in-one printer/scanner had great and intuitive software. Don't seem to be able to control the file name of the generated scan, nor where it goes; means you have to open up your file explorer, rename and relocate scans.

I purchased this printer to replace an Epson all-in-one inkjet that was terrible in every respect. This printer is silent while not printing, warms up and prints quick, and the duplex scanning document feeder is lightning fast. This is a great all in one. It provides crisp output, clear and bright color, works with wireless Android and iOS devices, no drivers required for macOS (just works for printing, scanning, and faxing). You can order a second paper drawer for this printer that holds 500 sheets. The front panel folds down to expose a pass-through for envelopes I'd point out that the first printer I got from BestBuy was delivered and the box had been clearly dropped and the printer didn't work. BestBuy replaced it no questions asked, but it took a week for them to do so.

Easy to set up. Excellent setup and great integration with all connections. Seems to be easy on the ink and using eco mode the print still looks great. Much better setups than any other laser printer brand. Really glad I bought it. Be careful and use a strong table to place it on because this printer is very heavy. That’s actually a great thing because it adds to the stability just like much larger printer models. Using Canon Business Print make a great printer even better. Functionality on the screen is top notch after you realize you can swipe the screen just like a smartphone right and left. Makes it a cinch to select modes. Overall Canon did a great job on this model and hopefully will enjoy this printer for years to come!

I love this printer! It has all of the features I need and is easy to set up. Double-sided copying & printing, wireless, laser, and prints perfectly from a mobile device. It is a little bit larger than most home printers, but so far a great investment.

First of all, this is a BIG multifunction machine. It works great, but takes up a lot of space. If you don't measure, you might be surprised with picking up the printer at the or or having it delivered. There are some small details that are fiddly, but overall this is a great machine for a home office. My whole family is able to connect wirelessly, which is great, and I've had no issues with the moderate amounts of scanning that I do.

I began working at home last year at the start of the pandemic. Our printer broke almost immediately with heavy use. I wanted to get something more reliable and luckily ended up with this one. I was caught off-guard by the size. I had ordered it sight unseen based on some online research, but didn't realize that it was a beast. It would not fit in my full size sedan. Had to go back in a SUV. It prints, makes great quality scans, and has done everything I've needed. A few months ago, my wife also started working from home and the printer use more than doubled. This printer has killed it. We have replaced the original toner cartridges over the past month (lasted about 8 months). The automatic feeder has worked without issue as long as the originals are in good shape.

Overall, this is a very big, heavy printer. It took a bit of work to get it set up but works fairly well as a small office/family printer. Wireless printing functionality is good. Prints very nicely in color. Holds a decent amount of paper. Digital function keys are a bit confusing. After a year, just needing to replace cartridges! I have had some issues with it asking to detect paper size when printing from various devices.

This is the first non-inkjet printer that I have purchased and after research I was surprised that I decided on the Canon. My only question is about the paper tray feeder. Since this is my first printer of this style, I am not certain if the feeder is behaving appropriately. At times it feels like it is skipping. Though, as the machine has been used more the issue does not seem to be as common. One, and probably important fact about this printer that one should understand is; it is heavy. Not just heavy, had to cut the box apart to unpack heavy. Two adults trying to move heavy. A table strong enough to hold it has been found. All good. If we move house, the printer may need to stay behind.

Purchased this printer to replace an ink jet printer in my office. Well worth it crisper printing both color and black and white. The toner last so much longer than the ink Jets for high production.

Can't speak to functionality (fax, scan, email), only to print quality. It's excellent. Can speak to set up, though. It's needlessly complicated because no one really lays it out for you what needs to be done. We are an Apple (OS and iOS) and Chromebook home. Can only speak to set up of those two worlds, but here it goes. Printer comes with Google Cloud printing (for Chromebook) and AirPrint enabled, by default. That's good. Macs: Download print/fax/scan drivers (one of each) from CanonUsa. Install on each Mac you want to print from. Go to system pref, Printers/Scanners, and add the 743 you see that says "Kind: CNMF741c/743c-Airprint". And that's it. You don't need to enable "Share this printer on the network." Macs and iOS devices should all see this printer ready to go whether they choose to print or airprint (mobile). Chromebooks: Add this as a google cloud printer, for now. Google stops supporting this end of year, at which time there will be direct connectivity options. But for now, they're appear to be none (to my knowledge.). The first two recommended to me by Tier 1 Canon support do not work. Tier 2 then told me to use Google Cloud only for now. That's about it. Mine is ethernet wired to the router that all these devices talk to. That's preferred over a wifi connection between printer and router, if you can swing it

there were some quirks in setting up, had to call canon customer service, but they were great. It had to do with the paper tray, i set up 20# like the paper pkg said it was and the printer would not recognize it. It kept telling me to load the manual tray, once customer service suggested to try the 16# setting, worked like a charm. It's old paper, I've had for at least 6 years, maybe it is marked 20 but really 16, IDK. Anyway I haven't tried scanning to save yet, but as i said it is working great, i really like it alot.

The printer meets my expectations. The unit Fairly easy to set up and somewhat pre-installed with the toner cartridges already loaded. The first print response is fast and the print quality is good. I needed an upgrade from ink jet; this unit far surpasses both the quality and speed of an ink jet.

I have been searching for a Color laser printer for a long time. I finally came to the conclusion that ease of use for what we wanted was just not going to happen or it would come with a very expensive price tag. I finally purchased the Canon mf743 and so far it has been a nightmare to setup with the computer. I do have to say though after about 2 hours of fiddling with the connectivity, driver downloads, and software downloads we have the ability to print from any device not wired all wireless. We can scan to the computer using the the tray and the glass scanner (two seperate ways to scan). Double sided scanning works great. I have not been able to tackle the send to email feature. This is very complicated but will definitely figure it out. For our first laser printer it is exactly what was expected. I do have to say that I was frustrated with the time to link almost everything but once this machine is working with email it will be like I have my office at home with me. Definitely recommend for home office. Be patient with the connectivity.

Fast quality laser printer with a weird glitch.

This full color laser printer makes fast color prints. The quality is quite good, as is the scanning feature. I am not using the fax feature, so I can't comment on that. One weird glitch: the printer firmware ranks paper by weight. It classifies standard 20lb paper as Paper 2 and the heavier 24lb paper, what I use, as Paper 3. However, the print driver makes no such distinctions. The print driver has Paper and Cardstock. If you choose Paper 2 or Paper 3, you will get an error message every time you print. I had to choose Paper 1, even though this is for a much lighter paper than I am using. I'm not sure what the long term results of this will be.

Great Printer. The toners are super expensive but once you print out your documents you know why. The finish is impeccable and your documents are professional looking. Almost close to what you can get from an Business Class MFP. The Wireless works great but the MAC Driver is a bit of pain to setup. Windows machines can print to this device flawlessly without any issues.
