Be prepared to be on the phone with Canon Support a lot. I bought this because it has a ton of great features, however nothing ever seemed to work right. Every time I got on the phone with Canon Support, it took almost an hour to get someone on the line and finally resolve the issue. Their support is great when you get someone, but it’s a waste of time waiting. Also, every time one issue was resolved, another one popped up. Hard pass Canon.

I bought this product thinking that I bought this a new. It looked new from inside and looked new from outside. But the first thing I noticed is that this the printer model on the box is different from the actual printer model. the box says MF743Cdw but the actual printer is MF733Cdw.
After I set it up I got error message that the toner(supposably canon starter toner) installed inside is counterfeit. All the colors have leaked all over the place and the quality of print was terrible.
I ordered new cartridges from another site and it seems the problems with the print quality is resolved.
Upon more inspection in the printer logs I found out that more than 3000 pages have been printed before with this printer and the cartridges have been replaced 3 times before:
05/23/2019 06:29 AM C1 Starter
01/16/2020 02:03 AM C1 High
04/01/2020 02:56 AM C2 Unknown
I am out of my 15 days return policy and the printer works fine so I keep it. My review is not for the printer itself but it is with the way a used printer was sold as a new to the customer by a reputable company like BestBuy.

I did a good bit of research on-line before deciding on this Canon ImageClass MF743Cdw printer. Read a whole bunch of reviews of different all-in-one color laser printers. A word of advice that may well be obvious to some. Printers have all kinds of different strengths and weaknesses. Things they do well, not so well or not at all. For me I was and am tired of ink jet printers for what are for me obvious reasons. The cost of the cartridges, how easily the ink line clogs if not used regularly, etc. Lasers pay for the greater initial cost several times over for me. The only drawback here is that the color print quality is what I'd call "brochure good" but not "photo good." Meaning it's more than adequate for a quality brochure, but lacks the color depth, richness and detail of ink jets. As far as I know there aren't any laser printers that do this well.
Again, it's about what you do and how often you do it.
And I love Best Buy, and the friendliness and knowledge of its salespeople, and the versatility of its product selection.

Does everything exceedingly well. Love the fact that I can also print from my mobile phone.
This thing is on the bigger footprint but it is also a quality product. I used cheaper color laser printers in the past but the print quality on this machine surpasses them all.
Superb technical support and customer service from Canon for 3 years. I called to register the printer since canons' online registration wasn't recognizing the new products serial numbers.
Only thing to consider is the current cost of laser toner. The cost is on the higher side, but I did notice that the regular and high yield toners produce more prints than my older laser printers. The cost to print per page is also better when you factor in the number of prints per high yield toners.
My GF just printed a 200 page document for her college class and it was done in no time.

The printer has performed well over the last several years. I use the ink sparingly, but I haven't had any maintenance issues yet.

Prints, copies and scans great. But... the software needs improvement. I didn’t like needing my IT Team spending hours to get it fully functional.

Keeping in mind that I’ve only just gotten this darn thing but a day ago, I’m leaving this review about my experience so far with said printer. The set up process was rather painless I’d have to say. Pretty cut and dry stuff which you’re stepped though along the whole way. The ink system being the one big difference here, from what I’ve gathered from other reviews and experiences, seems to make this printer a rather inexpensive option to operate when compared to the others that they’ve got on the market these days which almost require you to start giving blood in order to be able to afford having to constantly purchase new ink cartridges in order to print! We’ll see how this new system works out. Lord only knows that I’m not gonna get involved with those ridiculous sounding subscription services they have out now where they send the ink out to your house and know exactly when it is that your gonna be needing the stuff. A little bit too all up in my businesses for my liking. I mean, c’mon? It’s ink. C’mon...

If you have a need for close to professional print jobs without time constraints or minimum quantity requirements, then this is the printer to buy. Maybe you are sick of ink jet jobs with ink that runs if you get it wet or the cost of ink jet cartridges. This Canon is high quality, versatile and will last for 2500 plus jobs prior to needing toner replenishment.
I highly recommend this product! It has an easy to use touch screen and the WiFi printing was easy to set up and didn’t require an additional app to print from your phone. It’s also fast and a cost effective way to get quality printing!

Printers..... ugh..... if you want a long lasting quality printer, you simply can’t go the cheap route. This printer was a brand new version of a very highly rated printer. It prints quick even from sleep mode and was fairly easy to set up even though I had to get the Mac version from their website.

I bought this all-in-one as a "supplement" to my HP x476dw which I already owned for a while now. The HP was very easy to operate but for some reason is plagued by wireless issues (my wireless network never recognizes it for installation, the software doesn't work correctly and most recently lines started appearing on scanned pages).
So on the positive side the canon basically does everything so far, with more features and more control than the HP. On the negative side, this printer returned me to the days of my Brother fax machine and ultimate non-intuitive functionality. The canon software (provided by on a disc) controls many of the features and can only be set via the software (i.e. not on the unit itself). I felt that common, routine functionality (double-sided scans, including a summary page after a fax, etc.) were just extremely hard to enable and/or find, buried in canon's archaic menu options.
I guess I'll also mention I had to go through a bit of a rigamarole trying to unblock my firewall from preventing the canon install (with which I was ultimately successful after some trial and error).
I think this is a good solid printer that does the job and then some, but with the painful installation and moderately non-intuitive features, I can't give it a solid recommendation. Mixed opinion on this - buy if you care only about functionality and not at all about ease of use, and are prepared to have instructions and/or google searches in front of you during normal use.

Although the printer is a little noisy, the speed, clarity, and color matching of this printer outweighs the slight increase in noise when compared to an inkjet printer. The scanning function is pretty good, too, although I haven't used it too much. The accompanying software is a bit cumbersome and you still need a CD drive to install the software (unlike HP, where you can download the software from their website), but overall, a good printer for the price.

Needed a better office style printer mostly for B&W documents. Output quality is very good, speed of printing and menu access is above average. Toner usage seems average. Photos and graphics don't look great, but that was expected with a laser printer. Overall, it is an average printer, decent scanner, and has worked without issues for over a year now on first toners.

This is a pretty sophisticated printer for home use but offers good quality and value. I needed to call support a few times but didn't need to wait long and the technicians were very knowledgeable and helpful.
There was a problem with light or faint printing but the issue is well documented on the web and a simple search will provide instructions on how to correct it.

After using HP printers for decades, I could not find a replacement in the HP line at a reasonable price. Canon had an excellent sale around the holidays, and BB matched the price I had found.
This printer is very well made. There is a lot more metal than plastic compared to my old HP. Connecting to my network was relatively easy, but took a couple of times when adding my work computer (that is part of a different workgroup).
Print quality required a couple of finetuning steps under:
Menuj/AdjustmentMaintenace/Adjust Image Quality.
But once these were completed, the image quality is excellent.
