This printer is so reliable. I love it. I can fax, scan, and copy so much faster now. It's easier to manage than my ink jet, and the printouts are clear.

This printer is PHENOMENAL! We've only had it up and running for a month now but so far it's quality FAR outweighs what we were getting out of our old Epson. We have 5 people in our house (3 adults and 2 teenagers) so we go through A LOT of pages and we have had no issues so far. The printer fires up fast (when you send something to it while it is in sleep mode), the pages print very quick and there are no issues with ink smears, runs, etc. All in all, it's been a fantastic printer so far. The only mark I would have given it would be the price, but I got it on hefty sale so definitely 5 stars in my opinion.

This printer can do it all. We had to upgrade printer with the amount of printing we were doing for homeschooling. Need a busy to lift. Pretty heavy to do it alone.

Very easy setup, great results. May have been the least expensive color laser all in one, but it in no way seems cheap. We are very happy with it so far...

Delivers sharp copies and originals. Not too shabby as a photo printer. With some basic tech skills, it is easy to install and operate. I can print from all my wireless devices.

Beautiful copies, but expensive and complicated

    1. Horribly complicated operation. 2. Needlessly expensive toner replacements. 3. DO NOT BUY THIS MISERABLY COMPLICATED MACHINE. 1a. You have to specify each type and weight of paper each time you load it into either the main tray or the bypass tray. 1b. When I specify AUTOMATIC as the paper source, I expect the printer to look for paper in the bypass tray first. If there is no paper there, then move to the main paper drawer. This printer does not operate with such protocol. Specifying a paper tray does not always work. 1c. When you specify a paper size/weight (i.e.: #10 envelope) at the computer when printing, Canon makes you go to the printer and specify the paper type and weight at the printer, using the miserable small screen interface. If I prepare an envelope at the computer and put an envelope into the bypass tray, I expect (and am accustomed to by HP and Brother printers) the printer to follow the instructions sent from the computer without my having to maneuver through the printer's menus and type in / select the #10 envelope option before the printer can print the document. 2a. When you run out of toner, you have to replace the drum as well. Current competitor models have significantly cheaper alternative toner replacement because you only change the toner and keep the drum for a long, long time. 2b. Canon punishes you for using third party toners instead of paying insulting money for their genuine toner. Canon will not show the level of toner left in a cartridge. Instead, it says there is a "counterfeit" toner in the machine. I do not consider less costly toner from a third-party "counterfeit". 3. The print quality is fine, but the cost and complication of using this printer makes it a BAD CHOICE...EVEN IF I WERE TO GET THE PRINTER FOR FREE! DO NOT BUY THIS RIDICULOUS MACHINE. LOOK FOR AN HP OR BROTHER PRINTER!

Overall a nice printer, works good. Basic setup was easy, but setting up some of the more advanced features like scanning and emailing were a bit difficult to get setup and working correctly. Print quality is good, scan and email is a nice feature. Feels a bit cheap and lots of plastic, but good considering the price.

Adequate Printer but Extremely expensive toners

I bought this printer to replace a truly great printer that is no longer made - the Dell S3845cdn. Scanning is adequate (however, to really tap into the power of the scanner, you need to replace the Canon software with the VueScan X64). Print speed decent; print quality too light. However, what is unacceptable are the costs of the toner cartridges. When you replace the toner cartridges, you will find yourself spending more than the purchase price of the printer itself. More importantly, the cartridges are chipped. So if you decide to go the route of buying a compatible cartridge, be prepared to remove the printer chip from the original and inserting it into the new cartridge. This is one printer that I truly regret buying.

I work in IT and ordered this for a small office (10 clients using this) and its been pretty good so far. They do a lot of faxing and this was easy to set up. 6 months in and its giving us a lot of trouble. They only use black ink and so don't want to spend money on the expensive ink cartridges. It seems like this machine was made to malfunction without ALL the ink treys filled with working ink. Every couple weeks it will go on the fritz, even though its set to only use black ink. Anyway its a solid all around small office printer but its giving me some headaches as of late.
