This was purchased as a whole house network printer. It worked as expected for about 3 months and then all print jobs error out. It takes about 2 hours to print a file now. I have to reconnect to network cancel failed print jobs and repeat this over and over in order to get a successful print. The “support” software is laughable and barely coherent. Plus the interface where you have to use your phone to connect the printer is an absolute failure. I purchased this printer for dependability and ease of use and it has 100% failed on both of those needs. I recommend you buy anything else.

Very difficult to set up in wireless mode. Was on the phone with Cannon and Greek Squad several time. Various issues. The ink savings is wonderful but so wish I had purchased another Brand.

The screen is unreadable without a flashlight. It doesn't have double sided printing. The only good think is the ink tanks. Hope the next model is better.

The Canon Pixma G4210 wireless megatank printer is a great printer. Out the box it is a nice looking printer that will fit any home office. You it’s an all in one so you can do it all with this printer. Love that I can wirelessly print from my phone or tablet and it is super easy to do. Another awesome feature is the mega tanks for ink. Where has this feature been all along. It stores up to 30 times more ink the regular ink cartridges. It holds more so you can print more. Print quality is great. Setup out the box was simple and straight forward, I did not have any issues. It can also hold 100 sheets of paper and 20 sheets of photo paper. It is also Apple Air enabled. So far I am loving this printer. Check out the Canon Pixma G4210 if you are looking for a new printer.

Canon PIXMA G4210 All-In-One Printer

So I've been testing out this amamzing Canon PIXMA All-In-One Printer over the last week and I'm very impressed. First off, setup was fairly easy, although I ran into a problem during the network connection that took a little longer than expected to connect it wirelessly. However, once I got pass the wireless connection issue, everything else was easy-peasy. My favorite thing about this printer aside from it being an all-in-one machine, is the massive ink tanks this thing has. And it was very easy to fill each of the tanks up. Inside the box also can a CD disc (who uses these anymore) to install the software onto your desktop PC. The good thing was that the software is available online for those that have updated PCs where CD-ROM drives are no longer part of most computers nowadays. The printer also included an Ethernet cable for direct connection to your desktop PC. It is compatible with Macs, however, some software features are not available for the Macs. It also comes with 4 big bottles of black ink, 1 Cyan, 1 Magenta, and 1 Yellow ink bottle.
My only gripe would be that I wish you could tilt the tiny display forward and backwards as you see fit and also to be able to adjust the contrast on the display or have it light up so you could read it.
Overall though I'm impressed with the print quality of the printer.

I give the Canon Pixma G4210 4/5 based on print quality and AFTER you set it up, it's great.
Positives.
Print quality is great. The separate ink tanks for black and color mean you don't end up wasting mone throwing away an ink cartridge that's full of one color but empty of another. Size wise, the G420 is compact print speed is relatively quick for an inkjet.
Canon also ship the printer with A LOT of ink. 3 bottles of black ink mean you would probably get at least a year or more for an average user and not need to buy replacement ink. Canon also ship the G4210 with 3 full color ink bottles.
The ink system is all bottle/chamber based. So you're pouring ink into the "Megatank" chambers (Canon's words, not mine). It's anxiety inducing loading in the ink. I was a little worried that I would end up leaking or spilling ink onto my hardwood floors. But the process was easier than expected. If you have ever reloaded an ink jet printer cartridge before, the process will be familiar to you.
Scan quality is super impressive. Infinitely better than an old Dell All in One laser printer that I am replacing.
Once you are setup on WiFi, printing directly via your phone is straight forward. I haven't setup Google cloud print yet, but the G4210 does support google cloud print.
Challenges - Installation Advice
Bookmark this review, it will save you some of the frustrations I experienced.
1. There's no USB cable included in the box, a USB cable is mandatory if you want to setup the printer to work on WiFi. I don't understand why Canon include a telephone cable (if you want to use it as a fax) but not a printer cable. So budget an extra $10-$20 for that.
2. WiFi Setup. The default password for the Canon G4210 is the serial number of your printer (see sticker on the back). You think Canon would document that somewhere easy to find in the manual, but it's apparently a secret.
3. The Canon G4210 ships with a CD with software you need for setup (seriously, who owns a computer with a CD). You can download the software you need from here:
https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/printers/megatank-inkjet-printers/all-megatank-inkjet-printers/pixma-g4210?cm_sp=CSO-_-PFListing-_-G4210
4. For WiFi Setup, you need to download.
IJ Network Device Setup Utility Ver.1.8.1 (Windows)
Also, make sure your computer is connected to a non 5G WiFi network. Otherwise WiFi setup won't work, as the printer detects via USB and connects to whatever WiFi your computer is connected to.
5. Once you are setup on WiFi, the printer actually has an HTTP interface, just connect to the IP address of the printer. To login to the UI you will need the serial number again.
6. If you're a Windows user, go to the Windows Store and install the Canon software from there. It's much better than the experience you get from the downloads available on Canon's website.
Hope all of the above helps someone else.
NEGATIVES
The "info" screen is not backlit. So good luck reading that in anything other than direct light or daylight. The lack of backlit and absence of a printer cable is really Canon saving a few dollars and resulting in a bad user experience which is frustrating.
Wireless setup and Canon software could be better, but now you have my tips above you should be 100x better off than me.
Verdict- . The Canon G4210 is much more cost effective than a color laser. Print quality is really good and we printed all weekend for a science project and barely made a dent in the ink chambers.

The printer takes a while to setup, but it's worth it in the end. You have to fill each tank with the correct ink liquid. They have everything labeled and color coded. You still have to be extra careful, because if you put the wrong ink in the incorrect chamber it'll probably be very difficult to remove it from the chamber. The wireless setup was easy, as well as the USB connection. The directions they provide are very well written. They also have QR codes in the instructions that will direct you to videos for each step of the installation process. I suggest watching each video, because it contained a few extra steps and info that were not in the manual. The printer is a bit noisy, but I've had printers that were noisier. The copy feature is pretty decent as well. Overall great printer.

Consumer in Mind

I hope it stays reliable for a long time because this Canon PIXMA G4210 seems to have the consumer in mind, which is a very rare thing nowadays. Usually, the focus of most consumer-grade printers are to make you buy more and more ink, making their apparent low price seem like a money blackhole. But the G4210 contradicts all that. The ink lasts forever or so it seems.
The other good news is that the print quality is excellent and you don’t have to settle for lower resolution to save ink just because you’re afraid it will run out quickly. Besides, even normal resolution looks great for photos.
Speaking of photos, the edge-to-edge print feature was flawless in all my tries.
I just wish WiFi setup was easier. Having to press a combination of buttons to use WPS is plain old archaic and unnecessary. To make things worse, their website has page titled “What is WPS and how do I use it to set up the G3200 printer on the wireless LAN?" that has the instructions that worked for me but they also have another page that is confusing and the title (What is WPS and how do I use it to set up the G3200 printer on the wireless LAN?) seems to be the correct one but it isn’t. If it weren’t for that, I would have rated this otherwise excellent printer with 5 stars. Still, I highly recommend it.

The Canon - PIXMA G4210 Wireless MegaTank All-In-One Printer - Black is a dynamic home printer that has multiple functions which can handle a professional workload of tasks. Installing drivers and the software package on my PC was as simple as typing a website address to Canon’s home page and clicking start. I also installed the Canon Print app from Google Play on my Pixel phone. The following printing functions were available with my Pixel phone, Print Photo and Document, Scan, Copy, Smartphone Copy, and Cloud. The printing comes out clear and sharp in great detail. I was able to print from both my computer and my phone. I printed text from my computer and I printed professional looking photos from my phone, with great satisfaction.

Included With Printer: 2 cartridges (print heads), 3 black ink and 3 color ink bottles, power cord, modular cable, setup CD ROM for Windows PC/laptop (if you do not have a CD ROM this can be downloaded from the Canon web site), safety and important information and a Getting Started manual.
Features: Quality photo/document printer, scanner, fax, copier. This printer holds plenty of paper for your big jobs, up to 100 sheets of paper or up to 20 sheets of quality photo paper. There is a 20 page automatic document feeder for scanning and copying on top of the printer. Unfortunately it does not do two-sided copying, but for the price this is definitely understandable.
There is a control panel on the top lower left for faxing and copying among other things. There are 3-ways to connect the printer to a computer, WiFi, USB and Ethernet.
There are multiple apps you can download to help you print from a mobile device or cloud. If you are looking for a fast printer and not caring as much about quality, this could be a deciding factor in your purchase of this printer because it is not the fastest photo printer I have ever had. However, this printer has great quality for photos which leads me to believe it must be hard to come across one that has both speed and quality for your photo needs or wants at least within this price range with all the features this has.
Ink Feature: The ink is a feature in itself. There is a clear view of how low or full the ink levels are with four chambers - one black and three colors needed. You can’t run out of ink unexpectedly because it is easy to check and see how much ink you have left in each individual ink chamber. Canon is VERY generous in the amount of ink given with this printer. You can easily print out at least 150 pages of document/photos a month and probably not run out of ink for at least 3 years.
Recommendation: This beats all ink jet style printers I have ever had or seen. Most of the printers with this style have been basically disposable, lasting me just a few years. With the quality and ink involved (cheaper ink and size of chambers) with this printer I predict much more usage than I have ever had with any other.
