Good printer so far

Only had this a month but like it so far. Printed pages are clear and 4x6 prints are as good as quick photo shop. Ink usage is great. I gave it a 4 rating because I have not tried the scanner or fax yet. It was purchased primarily to replace old small-in-one Epson. Had to rearrange my tiny office space. Yes the info window is small, but I read the reviews before purchasing, so was prepared... it's fine.

Printer Does What It Does Well

We have had this printer about a year. it has printed several reams of paper. The ink wells are easy too fill. It lacks a way to copy to a USB drive which I use a lot on my other printer. It copies to my computer with a minimum of hassle but it takes longer than copying to a USB drive.
It has excellent print quality and scans documents and photos with adequate resolution.

Good value for the price. Love the ink well style and not having to buy cartridges for as much as the price of the printer. It is a bit noisy and the display can be hard to read. Reliable so far and rarely jams with the straight feed paper path. I would have preferred a model with a paper tray for a cleaner look and to make it easier to fit my dust cover over it when not in use.

i've had this printer for 14 months and I am in love. I was tired of spending a fortune on ink so this printer appealed to me. They advertised that it did'nt use much ink and it came with lots (i mean LOTS) of ink. I filled it when I first got it and have not refilled once. At this rate I want have to buy any black ink for 4 years. I may need color after 2 or 3 years. I do a lot of printing (personal and a home business) I also wanted a printer that was quick and provided a quality document or photo. This printer didn't disappoint! It was a little more exspensive than other inkjets, but I got my money back in the first 2 months and I'm still saving. Thanks Canon

Printer works great after you figure out how to connect to wifi using wifi password. Screen is small and not very bright. If your wifi password contains upper/lower case and numbers there is no place in the set up where it tell you how to go between upper/lower case and numbers. If you buy this printer make sure you understand * on the bottom left of the key pad changes the upper/lower case and numeric settings on the key pad. Took me HOURs to figure this out. Found it on a UTUBE review......

Very easy to set up. You have to manually select the paper size because it defaults to small picture size for some reason, which is why it gets a 4 instead of a 5. The tanks are easy to fill and no mess. It's basically plug and play. I dont even have mine hooked up to a computer at the moment, I can print directly from my phone which is very helpful. I am using a Samsung Note 8 so I have no idea if it works well with iOS or not. I also print from my laptop but I use the wireless not the wired connection. So far I havent run out of ink, and they provided 3 bottles of black, I've only put one in so far. I actually really love that I dont have ink cartridges because I can buy archival ink if I want to for better photographic quality.

Excellent print quality, super fast faxing and the ink is VERY inexpensive to refill!
I would give it 5 stars, but the display window is an old fashioned LCD screen with no backlight!
Not a deal breaker because of the price and because Canon stands behind their products!
I do however like having an actual keyboard instead of the touchscreen.

I would recommend getting an extra set of printer cartridges especially if you have been without printer for awhile as this thing will turn out them pages!

I have had Canon printers for 20+ years. My last one was a Canon PIXMA MX922. It worked flawlessly for years. Recently I replaced it with this Canon PIXMA G4210.
The G4210 was difficult to set up with my Mac. It set up easily with Windows systems.
Once set up it works well until it turns itself off. Every time I finish a print job and walk away from the printer, it turns itself off. So, when you start a new print job, you have to physically turn the printer back on again.
The document feeder also does not function well. I put in a 5 page form that was freshly printed out and the document feeder wanted to feed all 5 pages at the same time. Then the printer told me my page was too long to scan.
The screen is very small and not well lit. I have to use a flashlight, in a lit room to read adequately.
There is only one paper feed and it is on the back of the printer. To print a photo you have to take out the regular paper and put in photo paper. Then you have to select the type of paper on the tiny screen.

I previously owned the Canon Pixma MX882 and it was great for 8 years. This new Canon Pixma G4210 is easy to use and the print quality is what I am used too with Canon.

Easy set up, I love the giant ink tanks! Haven't done any photo printing yet, but normal prints are great. My last printer was not a Canon, I'm glad I went back..great brand!

1)So far, (mostly) so good. I appreciate the ink tank idea, although it seems I'm somehow "burning through" a lot of ink getting it to print just a few things - 6 photos & maybe 30 pages of text. Probably bec. I've had to restart a bunch of times. 2) small screen on top is unlit & impossible to see without craning over it with a flashlight. 3) setup was impossible without help from Customer Svc. 3) Cust Svc is top-notch (except on weekends when they're not there & you're in need). Helpful getting things running (3 tries). 4) Machine is quirky; will sometimes pause in the middle of a color print (not photo), & start again. Don't have any idea why. Annoying. 5) I like that I can print via local network; don't like that I can't use my 10-yr old MacBookPro with it. 6) Otherwise, seems like a nice machine (used it for 2 weeks so far, so perhaps I'm jumping the gun here).

Other printers are cheaper but the price of ink is crazy! This will work out better in the long run because the ink is much cheaper. Setup was easy and no issues so far!

I jumped on the hype about this printer being a lot more friendly when it comes to buying ink, as compared to my old Canon printer and all of the ink cartridges that I bought over the years. But, I didn't realized that maybe this isn't the BEST printer for me since I don't use my printer, even daily sometimes. I probably would have been better off buying a laser printer for the print jobs and volume of stuff that I print. Also, this new printer is mostly plastic and DOES NOT have a paper tray. Had I known that before I bought it, I would have bought another model. I am only recommending this printer because it really does work, it prints very nice and my only complaints are as I have stated, which are probably more personal preference and my lack of doing my homework before buying.

Have had previous Canon printers so I am use to this brand. Most of the ones I have had did very well until the last one which did not perform to my satisfaction. I had a project come up and needed to print almost 300 pages double sided and needed a new printer so picked this one out for me. Love the mega tanks and the project was done in no time and it looks perfect to me. Hardly put a dent in the ink used so far so I am very pleased with how it's holding up with the ink use. So far I would buy this one again in a minute. Glad it's here in my house.

Early days, but only downside is minor - the top will not stay up when lifted to put in an original to copy, you must hold it up.

Great print quality of pictures. The ink lasts a long time between refills. I can refill the individual colors as needed. I wish the printer would recognize the size and type of paper automatically.

First, this printer like many today comes with minimal, minimal installation helps.
Second, even switching the paper size is quite burdensome.
Third, the few explanations for set up are either in poor English, very incomplete, or highly inadequate and there is little if any tech support sites to go to for help.
Fourth, drivers are often inadequate.
Fifth, various modes are somewhat difficult to switch to: printing, copy, etc.
Sixth, I like the ink wells versus HP cartridges and it does produce a good copy, especially photos.
Seventh, not sure the price tag should not be a little lower too.
