I'm not sure why Canon insists on creating clumsy, distracting software. I was excited about the tank system and good reviews about print quality...ink is by far the most expensive element of printing...so this seemed like a great choice. After almost 1 year, the printer has constant connection issues with my wifi router and all devices connected to my network. It really shouldn't be this difficult! Anyone who has owner a Canon product before knows that this is a problem with nearly all of their technology products. The best bet is to NOT install their software and allow your device to discover the printer on your network.

Only brought this model because I used two others and they lasted me a long time. One was used heavily and had issues and now I got this one mainly due to the Megatanks. I hate buying cartridges. The size is okay for my large desk.

This printer is great! Great, great, great! Images and text are sharp when printed and the best thing about the printer is that the ink is now in bottles. No longer do I have to go to Costco for refills every couple of months!

Fairly easy setup. Like being able to print from my smartphone. Comes with huge amounts of ink and I like the document feeder on top. Only issues, printing is rather slow. Don't like the small screen for controlling the settings on the top of the printer. No double-sided printing.

Love love love this printer. Our old printers ran out of ink or dried up quickly. This printer is11 months old and as good as the day we purchased. Great product.

Great printer my only complaint is the auto shut off after non use. This is only a problem when I am printing from a different location. As for ink we have printed hundred of pages and no visible reduction in ink

The huge ink tanks really make a difference and save money. Well worth it. I do miss not have the automated double-side printing - this one you have to pass the paper through twice to print both sides. If you don't mind that, it's an excellent value.

So far prints very well. Like that it uses ink in wells, not cartridges. Will see how long ink lasts. Must turn on every time I use it, apparently has an auto shut off feature. When turned on, the warm up procedure is fairly noisey, but overall pleased with printer.

Since I print a lot in color this printer is exactly what I needed. The replacement ink is very cheap and the printer prints very fine sharp images.

"So easy to load and my what big tanks you have!" Red Riding Hood would've been moved to give this printer 2 thumbs up! I love being able to see the volume of ink remaining and squeezing it into the reservoirs for refills is as easy as pie. Print resolution is 9/10 as well. I wish it front loaded but, hey, you can't have everything. I'll never go back to a cartridge printer again!

First purchase, it was great! After a short period of time within 6months it became more difficult to utilize the scanner. Now, its a little over a year and impossible to scan, jumping through too many tech hoops to try to get it to work. I am very tech savvy and having these issues so I cant imagine how hard it is to use for non-tech savvy customers. This seems to be a common defect with the Pixma. Issue progresses over time - "Cant Connect to Scanner", "Error code -9923", and now " cant acquire information" error. My mother has only had hers for 4months and she is already beginning to have the same issue. I cant recommend.
