I bought this because I wanted a new printer as user-friendly and reliable as the Canon Pixma MX860. This is NOT that. First, instead of a solidly-built robust machine, the Pixma G4210 is flimsy and easily broken. Second, instead of a nice, readable, illuminated LCD screen, it has a practically illegible non-backlit LCD display that is extremely hard to see, and even harder to navigate through. Third, the setup via wireless is awkward and difficult to understand. Fourth, for whatever reason the delay between hitting "print" and something actually happening is so long that you think there's an error somewhere. Which there might be because the wireless setup is so difficult. When it finally starts to print, it's fast enough, but it only prints one-sided (and only scans one-sided) unlike the old reliable MX860. Fifth, if you want to set it up to print wirelessly from an iPhone or iPad, forget it. It's theoretically possible using the "Selphy" app, but I haven't been able to make it work. The iPad scans for the printer but never seems to find it. Bottom line, I don't know what model is the current equivalent to the MX860, but this isn't it. I may eventually figure out how to make this flimsy piece of expensive junk work, but it puts me in perpetual state of frustration.

Always been a loyal Canon printer owner, but the "brain" on this one stopped operating correctly and wasn't worth fixing, so bought the same one to replace it. However, before opening the box, I kept shopping and bought an Epson for the first time which prints faster, but has trade-offs, too. So, returned this Canon printer. Printing speed is so much slower than the Epson, so would not recommend to a friend for this reason. Canon customer service that I needed and couldn't reach for two days is not open on weekends.

Overall happy with the choice. Only complaint was setup for internet is quite difficult. Had to pay $70 for Geek squad for assistance. Should have been free. Otherwise it would be rated 5 Stars

Installation was easy. Although, not use to the ink part of it. But it’s known for longer ink life.

So far I really like the printer works as advertised. My reason for the 4 star is the LCD isn’t backlit and is poor resolution to start with. It should at least have a light you could activate but it doesn’t.

I purchased the cannon printer for home use I print more in black or mono and I like the fact that the ink is individual with bottle fill ups instead of cartridges which are quite pricey.

I've been wanting a tank-type printer for quite a while. I have been happy with Canon printers over the years. I only wish I had realized it will not automatically do two-sided printing.

I have had the printer for about 8 months and I have only used about a quarter of ink in each tank. This means that at the current rate, a single fill should last a couple of years. With my previous printer which used the more usual individual cartridges, I would need to purchase at least a couple of sets per year at a cost far higher than the refill bottles for this printer.

This replaced a HP Officejet-copier/printer/fax machine. I wish I bought that one again. It was way better than this Canon. It allowed me to print on both sides. The Canon doesn't. Also, the Canon constantly shuts off. I have to go turn it on when I want to print. Which is very annoying. I'm hoping it will at least save me money on ink. I shall see.
