This printer will not work with any Mac Products higher that 10.7 . If anyone has updated to Big Sur 11.0, 11.1, or 11.2 you will be prompted to contact the developer so they can update the printer to work with the current Mac OS. My 8 year old HP printer and 2 year old Brother printer have stayed current with Mac OS.

So far so good, only had this printer a month or so. This replaced a 10+ year old Pixma i6600 that quit working suddenly...I'll miss it. Anyway setup was easy. I think I have all the software and drivers loaded. Pros: Fast, good quality photo prints and text. Cons: It's much bigger (23 inches wide) so I have to get a new printer stand; a bit noisy (lots of clanging and banging around before and during printing); seems to go through a cleaning cycle every time it is powered up which uses up ink; it cost more than I wanted to spend, but I wanted to stay with Canon. As I said, so far so good. I'm satisfied with the printer.

I have not used the printer extensively. The setup was a little painful due to using my laptop without a DVD drive. Just glad my router has an automatic set up button for wifi devices, which worked fine. The supplied software for printer support works well under windows 10. I found the photo software to be useless for my needs. Trying to print on regular paper for drafts also left me questioning how the colors could be so far off. I still need to research this and try some other software. I don't want to have to test print on expensive paper. The paper feed and path is great. Just what I wanted to avoid paper bending. The printer is also quiet and so far no glitches with drivers.

It’s a great printer and documents and pictures have been coming out clear and great. Only thing is trying to get it connect to a Mac. I have a MacBook Pro (2022) and I had the hardest time trying to set it up. It wouldn’t connect with my iPhone or iPad Pro either with the app. Was on the phone with Canon for an hour and they couldn’t help either. Tried with my internet provider to maybe reset the router, but that didn’t work. Finally got a USB cable and that made a connection to my laptop. But it has yo stay connected, it won’t connect via Bluetooth or anything wireless. All in all it prints great and images just look good, but if you have a Mac or any Apple products just be cautious. It could’ve been I just got a faulty printer, but based off of what other reviews I read about this printer, it’s not just me.

Works great, colors are super vibrant. Main issue is that it's supposed to be wifi compatible, but the instructions aren't clear on how to set that up, and looking it up elsewhere yields no information. I settled for using a usb slot on my pc, otherwise I'd have pulled my hair out. If you're getting this specifically because you prefer/require the wifi connectivity, LOOK ELSEWHERE.

So far so good. Very good photo prints for the money. However like so many have said, the wireless is a royal PITA to get setup. The only way I was able to make it work was to use the Canon phone app and FINALLY I was able to get connected and thankfully it has never lost my wireless settings. I was really nervous about buying this because it uses the same cartridges as my old MX522 and I had a horrible experience with that printer but no problems yet with this one.

I print photos daily, I use to have a different printer until it became discontinue. Printer is reliable, fast when it comes to printing, event on high quality. Is it a little more bulky, I guess is because it prints up to 13x19. Compare to others(only up to 8.5x11) draw backs are it doesn't have a screen to see the menue. Pros. You can purchase generic ink. For no more than $20 and it comes with 4 sets. When a original set cost up to $65 (only one) So yeah remmber you spend way more on ink than the printer itself. So this is the best choice for me that I print daily for work. And yes generic ink gives you great quality as well.

This printer was extremely easy to set up, wifi connection was easy and fast. For the money it prints nice photos. Granted it is not a high end Photo Pro model, but for my budget the photos meet my expectations. The print time is way faster than my previous Canon ip4700. Over all I am satisfied with this printer.

I got this as a print-only option for the kids to compliment my all-in-one MX892. It prints great, and is extremely quiet. The lack of automatic duplexing is a pain. It has a WIDE footprint as it can print 11x17.

Excellent printing quality. Size is very compact for a 11"x17" printer. On the other hand ink is expensive compared to other brands. Wireless connectivity is outdated and not the best specially for Mac users. Im using a cable from an old EPSON printer to be able to print.

Set up took a few moments but the pictures printed look great happy with the purchase. Looked at the Pixma Pro, but for the price, I believe this is a great alternative for most people.

I first saw this on another website. I checked it out and went to Best Buy ready to buy. There were none in the store. The guy who helped me gave me a great price and had it shipped to my door. The clarity and quality (plus ease) of printing photos is what I really wanted. I'm still experimenting to learn it's uses but so far I like this printer.

Once I had it set up and running the photos I printed lived up to expectations. People I showed the pictures to were impressed with the quality. My only issue is that it was not that easy to set up. Really not all of us want to look up videos and instructions on line. Please just print out a concise and simple instructions. Also the cartoon instructions suck.

A workhorse of a photo printer

Overall this is an excellent large format photo printer. This is my second one, the first having quit on me after several years of “abuse”. The print head error caused me to buy a new one rather than shipping it off for repair/cleaning, etc. I bought the same model due to a supply of ink cartridges, but had I not been pleased with the printer’s performance, I would have certainly looked elsewhere. The printer handles business printing as well as hi-res photo printing up to 13x19. Plays nicely with all my Windows applications, e.g., Photoshop, Lightroom, Excel, Word, etc., and my AirPrint enabled iOS mobile devices. I have it set up totally wirelessly on my network (although you can cable it to a PC), and replacing the old one with the new one was pretty straight forward. Buying the XL ink cartridges seems to be the best bet, they last longer and the resulting cost savings is nice too. I use only new Canon ink, never knock-off/store brands. I just don’t want to risk it. I use a variety of photo paper types from Canon and from other sources if they have compatible printer profiles for this printer. All in all I am pleased with the printer’s performance and quality.

    Loving this Printer

Love this printer - only issues I had so far was setting up the printer with my network. Easiest solution was to just get a printer cable to do the setup/driver installation, the wireless worked fine after that. Note - most computers don't have CD drives anymore so cable setup is best option. But if you do have a CD drive on your desktop or laptop then it should be fine with setup that way. I love that this printer supports various paper sizes and thickness including 11x17 which I use to print out plans. I've tried printing photos on this as well and it's amazing colors are spot on. The starter cartridge that comes with this lasts quite a bit and I love that you can buy the individual colors rather than the color cartridges like HP has for a crazy price. The down side to this is that there is no scan or copy function on this. I basically ended up purchasing this model because I do a lot of craft printing and this fit all my qualifications (multi paper size (large prints) / thickness / color quality). And this only comes in a top load - great for crafters as this doesn't bend / curl the paper as it feeds thru unlike bottom load printers. Giving the ease of use a 4 star only due to the setup being a bit difficult if you're trying to set up wirelessly - best to get a printer cable.
