Bought this printer as an upgrade for my etsy shop. Overall the quality is great but if you want something that’s really crisp and clear spend the money for the pixma pro. I’ve cleaned the ink cartridge areas and everything and I still get lines on my darker color prints. It could’ve had a screen built onto it somewhere. The WiFi is very hard to connect to since you’re going off pressing a button and hoping it connects to your computer. Very heavy and large. Decent printer for the price though.

Excellent Photo Printer for anyone. Prints up to 13 x 19 photos that are of show quality plus it doesn't take up as much room as other 13 x 19 capable
printers

I have had this printer for two years now and never wrote a review only because of laziness. This is a gem and if anything happened to it I would definitely replace immediately. I work on graphics and it does a great job printing photos, as well as, anything you need to print. I love the wide body and do a lot of larger printing. One of the best features, it uses generic ink and the color is spectacular. My previous wide body was an Epson and I thought that was great until it broke and I replaced it with this Canon. This is a wonderful all around printer, price wise it was great and generic ink that does a fantastic job just can't be beat. Highly recommend as an all around printer.

I bought this for my craft room, as I wanted a printer that could print on 12x12 scrapbook paper. It is not a small printer, but it is not as bulky as other wide-format printers I've seen. I also use it to print photos, and the quality is comparable to places like Walgreens or Wal-Mart. I am not sure about ink life yet, because I've only had it a few days.

Prints beautiful studio quality pictures. Good price for value. Happy with purchase. I hate the apps that it suggests you use. Takes up too much memory on my computer for a program I don’t need.

I've been using this printer for two months now and everything has been great! Good quality printing and very cost-efficient. My only complaint would be that it has no interface on the printer itself and you have to do all maintenance/setup on a computer or laptop on the same network.

This is great photo printer for the casual user. Set-up is rather easy unless you are printing wireless. It's no big deal for me to be wired when printing. Quality is very good, just make your monitor is calibrated well enough so the image you see is the image you receive when printing.

This is an excellent and versatile printer. It is big-- it will print up to 13" x 19" and as small as you want. It is only a printer, not a scanner, faxer, coffee-maker... Color prints are great. Text not quite as sharp as a laser printer, but certainly very good, particularly if you use decent paper. Photos are great as well... not quite what the dedicated, pro photo printers do, but it costs 5x to 10x less than a pro photo printer as well. Set-up is easy: If you are setting up wireless printing to a Mac the instructions are, shall we say, obtuse-- do yourself a favor and just connect it via a usb cable, then go to the settings and add it as a printer-- it will walk you through setting it up for wireless printing and you can then disconnect the cable.

I purchased the printer because I needed an inkjet printer with high definition prints that printed in larger formats than 8 1/2 x 11. This machine does 14 x 19.. which is the largest I could find at the time. I use the printer to make High Quality Photographic Negatives for Contact Exposures for Ageotype, Ambrotype, Cyanotype, Platinum, and Carbon Transfer Printing of photos. It does pretty good.. but I'd prefer that it allow hi def printing at the larger print sizes. It also drinks thru the cartridges like a two fisted drinker at a bar. Two complete sets of new cartridges costs as much as the printer.. I've been living at Cartridge World as the six cartridges the machine comes with are half filled. I'd love for a printer to be made that you can fill with ink like the commercial models.

Print quality is very good, but it is weird that this model is not offered as a scanner too. Setup wasn't too hard; a few fits & starts on the WiFi connection but it eventually came together. Good printer ... just kind of pricy for no-scanner. I basically bought this because my other printer broke ... and I had a lot of ink left over. This was the only available printer that used the same ink. We'll see how efficient it is for using ink.

The quality of the printing is great. However, I was disappointed to find out that tis printer does not have a scanner. I had the exact same model of this previously which is why I repurchased this model. The earlier model had a scanner while this one does not.

This printer was an excellent choice! I was looking for a printer that would print up to 11x14 size. Be advised that this printer is large. It does take up a lot of desk real estate. Most images of the printer just show a picture coming out of the printer in a folded up state. By the time you open up the feeder guides and the catch tray, a lot of room is needed. I know some will miss having a small lcd operating panel on the printer, but you get used to working with the software on your computer or device. I wanted a dependable, high quality photo printer and that is what this printer is.

Finally found a printer that can handle the high quality printing I'm looking for. The DPI on this printer is incredible, resulting in crisp lines, and super clear details on small fonts / logos / etc. Only reason it gets 4 stars is b/c the setup was a little confusing without their being a screen, but the wizard I was able to download from Canon's website assisted through setup. Overall, great printer for the month I've had it.

Easy to set up. Easy to install software. I liked the led lights on the ink cartridges that light when inserted properly. I set the printer to grey scale as I use it only to print tabloid sized architectural / construction plans. The top feeding paper path works perfectly every time with excellent detail accuracy for auto-cad engineering plans. Startup time and print output is fast. The printer shuts off after factory set inactivity timeout. The power button must be manually pressed to restart the printer. Large but lightweight with a sleek modern look for an oversize paper printer.

I think this is the last CLI 250/251 printer they make.
As you know those print cartridges are very cheap and easy to find.
The printer I received seemed quite basic, no frills options.
No, screen, no scanner, no duplexer...
However, it appears to be quite well built and looks like it's meant to last a while.
I find that printers that rear feed have less paper jamming issues.
Also the print cartridges slots are wide open once you lift the lid.
It does have WIFI, which is a must these days, I used WPS to set it up, follow the instructions, power it on and hold the wifi button, wifi light will blink, go press the WPS button on your router, if successful it will change to solid.
Printer is capable of 13x9 prints and canon sells the paper for an affordable price, approx less $1 per sheet.
The print quality is on par with printers of this price range, it uses 5 cartridges MCYB and photo Black.
If you do a lot of prints, then you want a printer that uses CLI 250/251 cartridges.
But it is a BIG printer so be prepared for it, it's a wide format printer and if you need that then this is for you!

This is my second one. I love this printer, especially as an artist and teacher. I get quality prints, troubleshooting is simple, and I LOVE the borderless printing sizes. It’s easy to replace ink, and cost effective. If something happens to this printer, I will buy a 3rd one.

I was searching for a wide format printer to print out 12 x 12 scrapbook pages and found this printer. I love it!!! It works great and the quality far exceeds what I expected for its price. If you are are on the edge about purchasing this printer, go ahead and buy it. You won't be sorry.
