Customers are saying

Customers regard the PIXMA MegaTank G7020's print quality and ease of use very favorably, with many praising its sharp prints and straightforward setup. The wireless functionality and compact size are also frequently cited as positive aspects. However, some users find the small, unlit display and control panel challenging to use, and a few note that the printer can be somewhat noisy during operation.

    Printer made for saving

I recently got this printer from the older Canon MegaTank printer through Geek Squad Replacement Plan (which was quite seamless). This printer has auto double-sided printer (the older didn’t), fax support, copy & scan, and you will save a lot of money compared to cartridge printers. The print quality is comparable and it might take some time to print. Printer ink surprisingly lasts long and they give extra 2 bottles. Even though this printer costs more than cartridge printers, you will not pay $80 a cartridge which doesn’t last at all. The screen on the printer is extremely small and bad quality which I don’t care for.

This is a GREAT Printer. Easy to setup. No Ink Cartridges to worry about and ink bottle costs are very reasonable.

    Half baked

So far it works. I know it was recommended by official reviews, but my experience was that set up and troubleshooting is very user unfriendly. A real surprise considering Canon reputation. Eventually I got it to print reliably, byt issue is that it turns off ehen not in use and then not recognized and not powering on automatically until I press the "on" button. The scan to a networked computer is a hit and miss. Copy feature works well. So the experience is half baked. The prints a great and look very good. It's average speed in comparison with other inkjets. I decided to keep it since it promises a lot if print yoeld out of those refillable cartridges. So buyer be ware, but it certainly has things going for it.

I bought this to replace an older MX870 that the absorber pad error message was popping up. The print quality is very good and I really like the bottles of ink. The LCD screen is a big disappointment, there’s no backlight so it’s very hard to see. While printing, it’s very loud. Not really a problem for me but it was a bit of a surprise.

Did My Homework With Lots of Help from Best Buy

After visiting several Best Buy locations in my area, as well as other retailers selling computer and office products, plus doing lots of research online, I decided on this printer. In addition to printing regular documents, I hope to do lots of color photo printing as well. Because I have lots of experience using Canon cameras, I figured that Canon would probably build a good photo printer. I am very happy with the product so far. Kudos also to the sales representatives I dealt with in your stores, who were so helpful and knowledgeable. They all did a great job of educating me and made my ultimate buying decision easier to make.

No regrets with this purchase. Not blazing fast on highest quality, but I do not mind it, as everything else works perfectly. Use youtube or Canon’s online manual to help with your individual needs. I was stuck a few times and googled out of it. It is a bit tricky getting settings right when printing Adobe PDFs. I suggest you play with PDF printing before you need it—especially seeing what happens when using Adobe settings and the printer settings. I have it worked out now…I am thrilled at how long the ink is lasting. I print often daily and no stress as I had in the past with ink level! Would 100% buy again.

Easy to setup and use. Auto feed works well for making copies of multi-page documents. The large ink tanks are easy to refill and can make a lot of prints between refills.

Working well. Haven't had to buy ink yet but I am not a heavy print user. Compared to my previous HP inkjet, it seems more cheaply made. Too much plastic so doesn't seem as robust. Nothing has broken but I am being careful in handling it.

Quality is great but coming from a laser multifunction printer, the speed takes at least three times the time for the same output. I did buy for the added benefit of photographic quality and I’m not disappointed, so speed is not critical. Setup a Mac is not pretty but after two attempts, got it to work properly.

I bought this printer because of reviews, Cannon you are a mess! The photo side is awesome, but to figure out the directions is way to difficult! No backlight as well on the panel and is flimsy! Why can they figure out a way to make it easy “front side printer” or rear!!!!!!!!!!! If u love a challenge go for it!

Just finished printing 40 letters with envelopes. Perfect. So far, I LOVE this printer. I don't print with wifi, so I can't address that issue. And it is noisy, so beware of that. But as well as it prints, I can live with the noise.

I have had this printer for a bit now. It is amazing! I love that the ink refill is super easy and it lasts forever! It prints very fast, especially through mobile devices. I don't link that I have to download the Canon app to print from my phone, but it's not too intrusive. The 1 drawback I have experienced is that sometimes I have to put paper in the rear tray for no reason. I can't figure out why it does that.

A little complicated when it comes to essential functions like printing, scanning and copy. Would be better if these functions were straight forward. Google assistant printing also not straight forward, too many steps for a function meant for convenience. Overall, print quality is good and clean. Looks and feels durable which is most important to me. After 1 month of use ink looks like it will last. Good value for the price.

Bought this G7020 printer to replace my Canon MX882 that stopped working. I love the MegaTank feature that eliminates using ink cartridges making printing more cost effective. Another plus it's smaller than the MX882 & it prints faster..

So far, I like this machine, I'd certainly recommend it. We've used it for a variety of printing and scanning projects. I only gave it 4 stars because the other reviews are correct, it is sorta loud, and even for those of us who are tech savvy, the setup isn't all that intuitive, the screen is small, not lit (I don't think, guess I should look into that), and if you are GenX, you'll need to take yourself back to your pager days to find the correct digits to enter your network's wi-fi password (which is funny/not funny given that it's 2021). You also need to lift up the entire panel in order to print and then close it in order to scan, which is an odd concept. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? In order for me to scan, I had to install the "IJ Scan utility", which *is* pretty intuitive and despite what everyone says this does indeed scan double sided docs. You (again) need to go back in time a bit and follow the instructions for "duplex scanning". Here's how we did it: Load your documents. Open the IJ Scan Utility >> [In the lower right corner of the pop up] select Settings >> From the left-hand sidebar, select Document Scan >> then move to the right-hand part of the window and under Scan Options >> Source Type >> select "Document ADF (Manual Duplex)" Then have patience. Get a cup of tea, let it scan, and then follow the instructions to scan the other side of whatever you are trying to scan. The resulting output/file will be correct.
