Ink efficient

Can handle a decent amount of printing and I seem to need to fill up on ink less than when I had a printer that required cartridges. I run through paper more than I run through ink! This honestly was a good investment for me, as I tend to print a lot. The extra price tag for the printer was worth it to save money on ink in the long run.

My only complaint is that it keeps turning off; I assume this is to save energy. It's just irritating that I go to print but then have to go and turn the printer on first.

Slowest printer I've ever owned

Well, I can think of one exception. I had a printer once upon a time that worked like a Selectric typewriter with the ball of letters that it would print. But beyond that, even my dot matrix printers did better. It is very slow to start a print. It can literally take several minutes for some of the prints to even begin. Folks, at least as important as any physical printer that you might ever buy are the drivers that run it. And apparently Canon's aren't very good. So why did I give it 2 stars? I bought this printer because it had ink tanks. That much about it at least is very good. But I think I might look for my favorite brand to produce an ink tank printer for my next printer purchase. As frustrating as this Canon printer has been, that might be sooner rather than later.

Easy to install, flawless WiFi performance both on the laptop as well as the smartphone. The ink tanks are visible, easy to check, easy to refill and long-lasting. Had the 4000 series before and wanted to get a similar one (due to relocation) and I'm glad I searched several stores until found it at Best Buy and for a good value/quality combination.

Long life ink tank is OK but the printer is BAD

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.(PIXMA Mega Tank G7020 Review) People you are paying only for the new Ink Tank feature which give you a much longer ink life but the printer specs are from 1990 technology. They basically took a printer from 1990 and integrated the new long life ink feature tank and charge you $400 for that. The printer is really slow to work either to scan or to print and extremally complicated to use, specially with the very small black and white OLD screen. Imaging the screen of a small calculator from the 1980. That's is what you get for $400. The wifi connection and utility software are also very old technology. When I installed the software and tried to connect it to my wifi, it took me to my early years in my office. Very disappointing. I still have few days to return and I am thinking about it. The long life ink is tenting but these people really pushed and abused the envelop giving us a very poor product to squeeze the more money for this new Ink tank technology.

After it entered the sleep mode, it didn't want to wake up. Checked settings on line and found a solution. Seems to work now, but I haven't been able to connect it to my Linux device/

BIG MISTAKE!

Also, the screen selections are often confusing, unnecessarily complex and, frankly, a big pain. The print quality is fine, but I am truly sorriy I bought this printer.
