Customers are saying
Customers regard the PIXMA MegaTank G7020's print quality and ease of use very favorably, with many praising its sharp prints and straightforward setup. The wireless functionality and compact size are also frequently cited as positive aspects. However, some users find the small, unlit display and control panel challenging to use, and a few note that the printer can be somewhat noisy during operation.

Black ink won't start / Error Code 5200 hangs.
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. How often do we use printers? If you don't use yours all of the time, I don't recommend this printer. I cannot get the black ink to initialize to the print head and will be taking it apart piece by piece to check for clogs. It is a difficult printer to set up with wireless, tedious and time consuming. It constantly errors out with a error code of 5200 and no way to reset it and try again. It just hangs. Not a user friendly computer at all.

Canon Pixma Megatank
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased about a month ago. Easy to set up and use. Love the mega tank concept. Our other printer (Epson) was terrific but ink was expensive and always running out even after limited use. This should be far less aggravating - and hopefully cheaper over the long term. Print quality is good, although I have not printed any photographs yet. I have used the scanner for both photos and multipage documents and I am very pleased with the results.

Overall very pleased
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No, It's not perfect, but I'm happy with it. I had a TR8520 that kept saying there was a paper problem. I was tired of fighting it and especially the cartridges because one was always running out. The MegaTank is really a big help. I got this one in August. It was fairly easy to set up and the Geek Squad was able to come out 3 weeks later to check it. It does take a while to get used to but Canon software has improved a lot since my TR8520. The lack of a backlit screen panel is frustrating so I got a cheap lamp to put on a shelf over it to read the instructions. LIke my other Canon printer, much seems counter intuitive. There are too many complex instructions for simple actions. I started with doing the things I needed to do and progressed to other things. I love the document feeder feature and the ability to print on both sides. Photos are, as always from Canon, excellent, and the software is slowly improving for that. It does print slowly, but that's OK if it looks good. We do small document batches. I've tried other brands of printers and will stick with Canon because, at least from my perspective, they are continuously working to improve. Having the Geek Squad to help is also a plus.

Could of been a lot better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just bought the Pixma G7020 and wish I would of looked into more before i made my purchase. The display has no back light which just about makes it useless once it starts to get dark. You will need a flashlight to see it. Instructions very weak on what manual you get. Took almost an hour to setup and get it to connect to my wireless network. I have yet to figure out how to scan or fax and again the display makes this very hard to see. Tried to search Canon webpage on how to do this but not very good information and confusing. Tried tech support line after I was finally able to find the number. After holding forever no one even answered. The online automated tech support is useless. Type in how do you scan, its comes back with how long have you had this problem. I've had it since I just bought it a couple days ago. It asked have you tried updating the software, yes I just installed it. How about clear instructions on how to do it. The only thing that seems to be nice is the ink setup if it last like it says it will and it does seem to print nice. Other than that I wish I would of never bought it. It is my first and last Canon product.

Love the ink tanks.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the ink tank system that is so much more economical to run. The print is sharp and colors pretty good. The only drawbacks are that some of the parts are a little flimsy such as the paper stop on the back of the paper cassette, and loading paper or envelopes in the back feed is awkward. I foresee breaking that paper stop on the cassette at some point.

Happy with my new printer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's prints great, very clear and crisp, and the no mess ink fill is the way to go. We did find that adding our wifi password was cumbersome and the screen is quite small for reading.

Call tech support for set up help
Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent printer, but directions for wireless set up were not clear. I spent 5 hours trying to get the printer to connect. It is easy to use once it is set up. My advice is to call the help line and they will take you through the steps. My 5 hours of set up could have been reduced to 10 minutes. The numbers are not forthcoming in the instruction book so I will include it: 1-800-652-2666.

excellent printer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.easy set just follow the disk that comes with it...download canon utilities from canon site and open or download ij printer assistant tool....allows you to make printer settings from computer...go to "auto Power" and enable "auto power on"...(this procedure turns on printer when it receives a print request)...it does work but there is a delay so be patient

Ink savings offset by ink flush maintenance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought I would save on ink costs with MegaTank on the G7020. However, from time to time something gets clogged and you must perform an Ink Flush to clear it up, which uses about half of an entire tank of ink. So, taking this into account, the ink savings is not as much as you might think. I will probably not buy this printer again.
