Customers are saying

Customers regard the PIXMA MegaTank G7020's print quality and ease of use very favorably, with many praising its sharp prints and straightforward setup. The wireless functionality and compact size are also frequently cited as positive aspects. However, some users find the small, unlit display and control panel challenging to use, and a few note that the printer can be somewhat noisy during operation.

Call it "Mega Pain" instead of "Mega Tank."

If you like wasting hours to get your business work done, get this printer. It has nice features but there are some things that just make this thing s(t)uck...your time. The display: Tiny. Not back lit. You'll have to practically press your nose against the display to read it. I've actually had to use a pen light to see it when it is literally 5 feet away from a light bulb. It's not very intuitive. (Thanks spell check.) Keep your manual right next to the printer. Entering in alpha-numeric passwords is a pleasure if you like nightmares. Reliability? I print off a test page every week to keep the ink from clogging up the system it if dries up for when I don't use it. Most of the time there is some sort of error to keep it from printing right away. Some is user error but not all. If you have this printer I suggest that you regularly test its functions just to be familiar with them so that when you really need the printer for whatever function, you know how it operates...if it operates. That way when you are printing/scanning tax documents in a hurry that you don't have to waste time looking for the right youtube video to show you how to use it. Scanning: Using the page feeder? Good luck. I've been trying to scan a 6 page document for the past hour and a half. It just stops and displays "Error" on my computer. What kind of error? Feed? Com? I was trying to use the wireless direct feature. It wants a network pin. If you find it you better write it down and never lose it. I printed out the settings and found the "Password" under the wireless direct heading. I put it in three times. Nope. It says to look on the router label for the password. What? The printer IS the router hence "Direct." What password was on the configuration page printout? I've got better things to do than write a bad review for a product that just wasted a lot of time tonight and from other days but I wanted to let people know that this thing really does s(t)uck in my opinion. I've had it for a couple of months so I don't think I can take it back. If I had money I would love to throw this thing off the top of a building to hear that satisfying "Smash!!!" You would think after having inkjet printers around for at least a couple of decades that the bugs would be worked out and operation would be intuitive and simplified. Not on this one. In short: Cool features. Too frustrating to use. Not reliable. But I shudder to even think about considering an HP and the ink games. I've never used the expression "Cannon Fodder." Other than spelling would that fit as a descriptive term? It does make for some satisfying imagery.

    Not What I Had Hoped

Bought this printer at the end of 2021. Except for persnickety wireless setup, it worked well until last April. I was ill last year and didn't use it very much. In April when I went to print tax docs the black ink had seized up. I spent 4 hours doing different levels of cleaning and never got the black to print cleanly. Just tried it again yesterday and black isn't printing at all anymore and I found out, I probably filled up the ink waste area from the "Flush" routine, and there's no way to clean it or I might need to buy a new set of ink and/or a new printhead. Instead of spending money on that, I'll invest it in a new HP or Epson instead. The constant loss of the wifi connection kept me from doing regular printing that I knew I needed to do. It's kind of an unfinished product. Will donate to school to fix.

Not as sturdy as older Canon printers. Works great and the price was right. Integrates into wifi easily.

Not the fastest printer but will save you money on ink! Only wish the display was back-lit. Photos on glossy paper are awesome! Connected with my computer easily. No jams so far.

Printer was easy to set up, but the digital display is not backlit, making it difficult to read.

Bought this for the wife. Works beyond her expectations and was simple to set up for wireless printing from her pc and phone. Adding ink is mess free and that was one thing we were worried about.

Very well packed, was easy to set up, came with a fair amount of ink. Only nitpick was that the photograph I printed was lackluster.

I love the fact that I no longer need to buy ink cartridges. This is a nice small footprint for the printer, not taking up too much space.

Great printer but it lacks a back light for the LCD panel. Keep a flash light or other light handy. Otherwise you can't read the the panel. Bad decision/engineering Boo Boo on Cannon's part.

I would not have bought it if only I had known...

I would not have bought it if only I had known how unreadable the ridiculously small, dim, and outdated the screen is. So far [after one week and 50 -ages printed], the other features and performance seem to be good, but the screen is a serious deal breaker.
