This is a great printer and I am giving it only 4 because the ink cost is so high. The colors are clear and it is fantastic at printing photos. Set up isn't quite as intuitive as others I have used but it is easy getting it hooked to the cell phone. I love the fact that there is no fat drum in the rear and that I don't have to work around that on my desk. It is pretty straight forward and reliable. Another great aspect is that the discard tray opens automatically when a copy is printed. I would easily recommend this to a friend, especially one who likes to print graphics. After all, that is what Canon does best.

This printer plays nice with my phone, iPad and Mac, wirelessly. It is compact and has a quiet sophistication. If the print tray is shut, it pops open to print on its own, and is easy to fold back out of sight with almost no effort.

First printer I have purchased and no disappointment. I haven't used the social option of it yet, but does a great job of wireless printing. Semi-quiet and great quality

I went in spur of the moment after finding out I was going to need a printer for my college courses. I bought this printer for $60 because it was on a deep sale. YAY! Overall after having it since January I have not had to replace the ink that it came with! That's a huge plus but when I do it will require a cartridge that is a little pricey but less frequent. It also prints awesome photos! The scanner is great! Only negative I really had is that it runs a little slow but its performance is great!

Produces high quality documents. The resolution of photos is comparable to store produced images. I appreciate the two-sided printing ability. Scanning wirelessly is a cinch, no more cables to connect. Great resolution on the scans. Easy copying, I thought I would miss the document feeder but we really haven't. Will have to wait to see about ink consumption. I bought a new set of XL cartridges, but after a month I'm still using the originals. Assuming it lasts, it is definitely worth the increased price over the $50 throwaway machines.

Best printer I have found! I had an Epsom RX 500 since it first came out years ago it recently quit and made best pictures ever but this printer may be better! Resolution is same and I print lots of pictures ink seems to last longer also and very easy to change. It is designed for pictures has more cartridges than most printers but why it does better too. Very satisfied and if wanting pictures highly recommend

I was looking for a printer that was aesthetically different than every other printer I've seen, meaning I wanted to find one that wasn't black. This one fit the bill! It's a great little printer, fast and quiet and prints attractive photos. It works wirelessly with my computer, iPhone and iPad. I'm very happy with this printer overall, and would recommend it for a good quality home printer.

I'm glad I purchased this printer. At first, I wasn't sure if it would meet my needs but it ended up exceeding my expectations. I am a graphic designer so the quality of print is very important to me. I was very pleased with the results. In addition setting up the printer was easy and did not take long at all.

I purchased this printer to do photos, 2 sided printing and copying. It does all of these things very well especially photo's which come out very professional looking. My only complaint with the printer is that it seems to go through a lot of getting ready before it will actually print a document.

I purchased this product because canon is known to produce quality color photos and is easy to use. All printers seem to use more ink than one would like so you have to decide based on your own usage. This is a good printer for light to medium usage. easy to set up quality features and nice design ...low profile easier to fit into cabinet or on shelf

I like to print and scan photos. Had to replace a HP photosmart printer. Chose this one after reading many reviews of many printers, also with advise from sales person. Setup on home network was very easy. I am not disappointed at all with quality of this printer. Prints superb pictures and very good text. Wife and kids use it for school reports.

i have only owned 2 printers. this was my second. has option to use google drive, evernote, and other cloud services, and others to use without a phone or computer. u can bring it up on the screen on the printer. pretty cool. also has nfc to tap the printer and print. alot of cool apps to create calanders and other things similar to that for your computer. also has sd card slots and the back comes off easy in case of a paper jam. the front automatically opens when you print if its closed. 2 seperate paper trays that you can adjust to any size paper and a cd tray to print to and from with a cd if you want to print pictures from a cd or onto a cd (i think thats what its for, i havent used the cd thing yet). nice color touch screen with an easy ui and some customizable option for the screen.(use my stylus on it sometimes). only gave 4 stars bc it was somewhat difficult to set up and took forever. although way better than my hp deskjet i owned before i bought this. oh yea it has a quiet feature so its not as loud and noisy as others. still makes noise but its a big difference. i would recommend. one more thing,....the ink is somewhat high priced.

I'm glad I purchased this printer. Print quality is really good. However, I bought it mostly for printing photos. Just put photo paper in the printer. Then press the button for what type of paper, from the list of different paper that shows up on the printer screen. It's that easy! And the print quality is awesome. If you want the print quality to be better, change the settings. Don't forget to change it back for regular or everyday print jobs. Remember, when printing photos, that the photos will be wet. Never let them set piled up in the out tray after printing. It can ruin your pictures. Make sure to remove each photo and set aside to dry for about 15 mins. Having the wifi option is another great feature. I can print from across the room. I can even print from my phone. Love it. You do need some type of internet to set up this opinion other then you phone internet. After internet set up you can print from your phone or computer without a internet connection or a modem. I think it's called "direct to print". Printer is great. However, it does use the ink fast. It will get costly after awhile. And to replace the ink cartridges is not cheap. I bought this for my wife for Valentine's Day as she wanted an upgraded printer to print pictures. The set up was simple and the quality of the pictures is great. With this printer she can print 8x10 pictures which retain their sharpness. I loved the set up and she loves the picture quality. All in all, a great buy.

We were looking for a quality photo printer that wouldn't break the bank. This printer puts digital photos onto paper with high quality. The install and setup is incredibly easy. We've not had any issues with printing over WiFi from phones and laptops. Overall a fantastic product and I would definitely buy again.

I researched this printer as I wanted a relatively cheap but good printer and this is perfect. It's easy to use over wifi which was one of my main requirements. The photo printing is really good to. People don't believe me when I say it's come from my home printer. Really pleased with this printer.

I had been thinking about replacing my multi-funtion ink-jet printer for quite some time now. I was pleased with the performance and output of what I had, but I wanted to take advantage of some new technology that has become available over the last six years. My main purpose for this new purchase is to print photos, so output quality, color accuracy, and tonality are important. This printer was extremely easy to set up and get started, and I love the fact that I can now print directly from my mobile device. I didn't expect photos I send from my phone or tablet to look very good, but to my surprise, they are pretty excellent (provided the photo was taken with quality light) The real test was to print a photo I made with my pro camera gear, and compare it to a print and a canvas I had made by a professional photo lab. The colors were pretty much identical, the tones and contrast were accurately represented as they look on my monitor. That was VERY surprising. Considering the overall cost of this machine relative to something like a PIXMA PRO series, this thing is a tremendous value.

Excellent printer/scanner. Excellent wireless connection via home wifi. Fast printing and scanning. Prints two sided documents, two. Scans texts into .pdf files where you can select and copy text in the scanned .pdf file. Individual scanned pages can be united into a one .pdf document. The device is very conveniently designed - no protruding parts, the cover of the scan glass is very light and convenient. I bought it recently - am sure that it has a lot of more good functions I have not started using yet. It can print on CDs as well (although I do not use it). It is on a more expensive end, but it has all the latest innovations in it. And, as they say, I am not so rich as to buy cheap things"...

This printer does everything that you expected to do. It prints, it's scans, It copies.. We have had it for about a month and are very pleased. I if I were designing this printer, I would have somehow made the Second tray available for envelopes rather than photo paper. However, inasmuch as this is a home use, rather than an office use printer, I can see why Canon chose not to do that. Alas, the very best improvement to this printer would be an actual printed paper manual , Rather than a virtual manual that you have to access online (or print out at great expense). Our prior Canon printer had an actual manual. Overall, I think this is definitely a printer that will be very useful for us. Like most electronics, however, today, it will be disposable if it breaks, as I am sure the repair costs would exceed the actual cost of the printer.

I would highly recommend this printer over all. Great for pictures and documents. Easy to use and best of all the ink last a long time. Also you can buy the ink at a reasonable price and can purchase the colors separate from the black.
