After much frustration with an Epson Workforce 600, I finally relented to buy a new printer/ all in one. I'd previously owned Canon printers and scanners in the days before all in ones and was very happy with their performance. The only reason why I switched to Epson was on the recommendation of a Best Buy employee. It was on a huge sale and Geek Squad said my old Canon printer was too expensive to fix. This Pixma MX492 printer is slightly more compact than my old Workforce. Installation was very easy though I was prepared for difficulty after reading some reviews on Canon's website. It might be the case if setting this up wirelessly, but I used a USB cable. Install either from included CD or from Canon's site, which I did. I've only done a small amount of printing in the few days since I purchased it. The print quality is fine for everyday use. I don't anticipate sending any faxes so I skipped that part of the installation.

My husband and I only print occasionally, so we didn't feel the need to spend a lot of money on our printer. It's easy to use and compatible with iPhone and Android, which makes wireless printing a breeze because we don't have to move documents. It prints pictures pretty well, but I wouldn't recommend this model for professional photography. However it is perfect for scrapbooking and when we want to frame something. The only downside is it does not print both sides. You'd have to print odd pages and then flip them all and print even pages to use both sides of the paper. I personally think this printer is a great deal for a college student or people who just need something basic at home.

Easy set up. Hooked up to my wifi right away. Print is great. I caught it when it was at a very low price, and within 2 weeks it paid itself off by my printing off a couple of coupons for items at other stores . I really can't say anything about the other features since I don't use them. For a basic printer (I've learned I don't need much more), this works great, and the low price was a bonus.

Bought this printer to serve my printing needs during an extended vacation. Made selection mostly on basis of personal inspection of about 8 different low cost , small footprint inkjet printers plus some comments made by a Canon service rep while I was shopping. Printer works exactly as advertised. Fast, good quality outputs, easy to set up, pretty intuitive use for scan, print, save scans as PDFs etc. Not using as fax so no comment on that. Only 3 downsides 1) a bit noisier than any of my HP inkjet printers and 2) replacement ink cartridges are somewhat expensive and 3) you have to remember to turn it on before using as it will shut down after a long period of non-use as in overnight. My HP's all "wake up" automatically. Am I satisfied? Yes for sure, it does the job intended very well and I would buy it again. It will become my wife's printer at end of our long away from home.

If you are looking for a simple printer to print coupons and the occasional spreadsheet, this printer is easy and works well. If you are looking for more features or want to print high-resolution photos, keep looking. You get what you pay for in that regard. But for less than the cost of ink for most printers, you get an easy-to-setup printer that gets small, simple jobs done.

The Canon Pixma MX492 Wireless Printer is really an All-In-One printer that can do many things: network printing, color and black&white, faxing and scanning. Network printing is easy to set up as is Google mobile-printing. This is reliable, but inexpensive printer for people who do not need to print numerous documents.

I like the physical size of the printer because it fits on a desk. It is easy to use and the final product is nice and clear. Scanning/copying work well when needed to forward to a school based email system.

We needed a small, basic printer for use at our vacation home. We did not need a lot of bells and whistles, just copying, faxing, and scanning. This printer does all of these things very well. Easy to use and it puts out a pretty fast copy. It fulfills all of the things we needed at a very reasonable price.

I was really surprised how easy it is to set up and only took me 15 mins to set up. I have used it only a few times but really am satisfied with how it works. The hardest part, was registering it on line, their system was not allowing me to do it, so I had to call the company for help.

It is a great printer for my needs. It is fairly easy to set up for my lap top and on my phone. Prints and copies are very clear. Have not tried to print pictures with it yet. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is the plastic paper tray and lid seem pretty flimsy, but it does everything I need it to.

Got this printer on sale for $60. I use my printer for plain text 98% of the time and don't print photos often. That's one of the reasons I bought this printer. For the money this is a good printer even though it's a little cheap feeling but it's sufficient enough for my needs.

This printer works better than hp You connect almost instantly to your WiFi through there app which do work lol it only took ten minutes to set up and I was printing out of all the printer I’ve own this is the best one over WiFi and the price is very affordable

I like this printer. I have always preferred Canon printers over other brands because of their performance quality and reliability. I am giving it a rating of 4.5 (I had to choose 4 stars - no half star was available). I found the setup confusing. There was an installation disk provided, but I have an Apple and the disk only works with Microsoft. I had to get the step-by-step installation instructions from the internet. I found the process very confusing. I don't have a twelve year old living with me so I had to do it myself. Other than that, I am pleased with the product and would recommend it.

I bought this as a second printer at home. It's so easy to set-up and because it is wireless, it doesn't need to be at our computer station. We actually placed it on our kitchen countertop! It produces decent prints and the interface is seamless. Overall, it's a great value for your money.

I have printed on card stock paper with great clarity. It is very convenient to print wireless especially when you come across something that needs printing off your cell phone and you don't have to sign to a PC or laptop to print. Great for faxing & scanning too.
