Slowest printer ever
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't buy this printer if you value your time. From the point when you click print, you're looking at nearly 3 minutes before it even starts printing. Once it starts, it isn't particularly quick either. On the bright side, it's reliable. But I don't recommend it at all.

Not the best
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had this same model and because I used to how it works thought I should stick with it as a replacement. Paper jams are always an issue. Have to do a cleaning cycle often to get good copies. Sometimes all I get are blank pages. Wwould not recommend.

Good printer but not the ink.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this on sale. It is a good printer but goes thru a lot of ink easy. If you can't afford all the ink I don't advise buying it. My older one didn't go thru ink like this.

Hope it gets fixed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've printed about 100 pages. It's somewhat slow and now I have an error message there's a paper jam. I've meticulously gone through the printer, followed all directions, and now I'm waiting for a response "within 24 hours" from support . UGH!

drops wireless connection too often
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Even though recommended by consumers reports, I wish I had read the reviews on the Canon website before wasting my time with this. Grateful I am a best buy rewards member so I could bring it back. Went to ebay and bought another old canon pixma mp 530....922 also was an ink hog...

Perfect Printer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have read many negative reviews on this printer. Mainly of the construction, the speed and setting it up wirelessly. All I can say is, I have not had a problem with any of these issues. I am a website and graphic designer and I need a good printer. No, I need an exceptional printer. I was wary of buying this one based on some of the reviews, but I went with my gut feeling. So far, I am not disappointed. It connected to our wireless connection in under 20 seconds. It prints out our documents in literally 3 seconds and the construction seems fine to me. There might be potential for the paper tray to fall off or get caught, since it opens up on its own when the printer turns on. I have not printed any photos with it yet. I had a Canon printer prior to this one. The DPI is the same, so I already know the result will be amazing. Canon printers always produce the best photo quality. If you have had Canon photo printers before, then you already know ink can be expensive... so no surprise there. If you are switching from HP, then you definitely should know this. I'm personally used to the price, as I've used Canon for years. I print A LOT and the ink consumption is great for what I need. My old printer was the same. I'm beginning to wonder why people are having trouble setting this up wirelessly. We hooked our printer up first, then we installed the software CD. It immediately found our network and asked to connect to it. I think that's the trick. Maybe some people are installing the software first and are having problems? Or maybe they have a bad/slow internet connection? That could also be why some people say it prints slow. If it's connected to WiFi and it is slow printing, that is not the printer's fault - that is your internet. Either way, this printer is wonderful. The quality and speed are like a dream and it is very easy to use. I would not know about the faxing capabilities, as we do not have a phone line. Nor would I know about the scanner because I have not used that yet either. I will warn all about the size though. It's massive! It takes up most of our desk and doesn't leave us much more room for anything else. That aside, I would highly recommend this printer to all designers and freelancers!

Poor wireless connection
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When the printer chose to connect, it was great, but the printer chose when to connect and when not to. I have a new MacBook Air, so that wasn't the issue. Our wireless connection is AT&T; the main box is just down the road from our house.

Scanner does not work
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I listened to sales pitch and there is no support on this model that I can find online. The copier itself is very well made but, I purchased with thought in mind to scan and it keeps looking for an USB when this is set-up as wireless.

Garbage
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Canon's printers have been steadily getting worse and at this point I'm not sure why I keep buying them. This one frequently loses connection to the wi-fi access point even though our other devices right next to it work fine. If you try it with a USB cable, half the time it won't print and won't relay any errors. Combine that with the fact that the cartridge carriage is stuck this morning and maintenance won't run or throw any exceptions. So now I want to go full Office Space on this terrible printer because I'm past the return date.

Big printer, but quiet and fast
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Seeing this printer online (and reading the specs) didn't fully convey how big it was. Comparing it side by side in person at Best Buy with the MX472 put it into perspective. I almost bought the MX472 because of the size difference and the fact that the MX922 has a high-gloss finish, compared with the MX472 textured finish. In the end, it was the on-screen display size and individual ink cartridges that won me over. Although setup was not super-fast, it was straight forward. I followed the instructions exactly and set everything up as expected. I chose to use the standard Wi-Fi setup, as I saw that other reviewers had trouble with the one touch WPS setup. I entered my Wi-Fi password and the printer connected quickly. One thing that was not intuitive was the Google Cloud Print. You must start the Google Cloud Print setup on the printer itself. It prints out a page with a dedicated URL that you type into your Chromebook (or phone). This links your exact printer to THAT Google account. ** To add more users, you must then go into THAT Google account, select "Share printers", and add more users. It makes sense once you see it, but it is not spelled out in the setup guide. The printer itself is quiet and fast. It makes a little noise when "warming up", but not excessive. The pages are super clear, and the 250 page paper tray means you don't have to keep loading paper once or twice a week.
