Separate ink cartridges for each color is great because then you only have to replace the cartridges you use instead of a combination cartridge that might only be out of the red. Has many other great features and good picture quality without having to sacrifice speed.

We looked for a long time before selecting this printer. It was easy to setup. The only trouble I had was connecting to our Apple Airport. I tried to follow the written directions, but should have just scrolled through directions on the printers screen which was really easy. We have had the printer for a month and it has worked really well for printing, scanning, printing labels and making copies. We have not tried printing photos yet but expect good quality.

I operate a part-time business and do a lot of personal printing at home. Typically I have 2 printers, in case 1 "goes down" for some reason. For many years I had the Canon 9900 all-in-one which used a battery of about 8 color and black cartriges until it finally wore out. This is the more modern equivalent. It does not use quite as many cartridges but still has separate color cartridges so you don't have to replace them all if, for example, you used all the yellow. The most interesting new thing about this printer is the ink cartridges have NO EXPIRATION DATE! Apparently so long as they are kept sealed until put in the printer, and at a livable temperature, the pigment will not decompose. Once in the printer, the connection between cartridge and printer nozzle area is also air-tight, so the ink does not dry out due to age inside the printer. Since cartridges are always the biggest expense over the life of a printer this seemed a big plus.

Purchased as a replacement for Canon Pixma MX860, this was an easy transition. Indeed, it works just as well, if not better than the 860, and has a number of improvements. Gone is the "pop-out" rear tray for photo printing, etc. A new, second tray loaded from the front allows easy storage of photo paper at the same time regular paper is stored. The fully wireless network install was a snap, and not having it wired to any one computer in the house has been a blessing. If I had to list one thing I didn't like, the Canon included software is a pain. It's NOT intuitive, it's based on the assumption that you want to "make things" (Calendars, mugs, etc.) rather than print school work, etc. I could do without it, as it's anything but intuitive. First time I scanned a photo, I had *NO IDEA* where it was stored, what it was called, etc. But the Scanning was great, the printing is great. Good printer at an *EXCELLENT* price.

This printer is much better than I anticipated. Allows for printing from iPhone and iPad which comes in handy a lot more than I would've thought. Very easy to setup.

Print quality is good. Takes over a minute sometimes to begin printing - does not recognize connection. Have had to turn PC,printer and router off/on to recognize signal, Probably best using cable connection.

I'm usually pretty good at settings up electronics. However, this printer was frustrating to install and took far too much time. When it was finally installed, it does print nicely. Pictures are decent.

I got this over the brother brand only because it has the duplex scan. It helps if you scan a lot of document. You can also do this via software where you individually scan and keep adding to the same file. but i thought having that feature is good. Also , the separate cartridge for black ink is good. One advantage of canon printers over other is it comes with full ink cartridge. where as the others come with starter kit. Scanning at 600dpi is very slow, i think that is expected.

The documents that are printed look nice, but it takes quite a while for them to print. Usually, my computer tells me the printer is not responding, and then it prints. It spends all of its time spooling up. If I did not have intentions of using the printer for photos and other documents that need to look really nice, I would return it.

I purchased the Pixma MX922 after the old HP Officejet delivered up it's last pixel..I did some research that indicated this printer was considered one the the Top 5 inkjet printers of 2015 . I was skeptical about the wireless install, but once it was 'talking' to my computer, they worked it out themselves! I haven't had the printer that long, but so far it has performed flawlessly. This printer uses 5 separate ink cartridges that allows for vibrant and nuanced color printing and better ink management. While I will probably never use the Fax function, the scanner and copier have come in handy already. My only complaint is that a XL capacity ink cartridge multi-kit cost more than the printer cost me!

It's a good INK color printer. It's slow to print. And it is HUGE. Takes up a lot of desk space. The ink is pretty expensive too. But the prints are nice and vivid. Average printer.

So far the MX922 has proven to be a very good printer. I had previously owned a Canon MX 870. The MX922 is very similar. However, it is much noisier than the MX 870. Loading new printer carts are relatively easy. I did like the printer paper loading system better on the MX870. It allowed for the paper to be loaded and ready printing. With the MVX922users have to load print paper as needed and then remember to take it out before printing regular documents.

It prints beautiful pictures! The five different ink cartridges saves money, since you do not have to replace all the ink when only one color is out.

I honestly purchased this printer because I wanted to print photos for my new home. The printer is very simple to use and it can print wirelessly from any device on the network which is very convenient for me. I don't find it to be noisy like some of the previous reviewers. I'd like to think that if the printer makes a sound then it means it's working. I've owned the printer for about three weeks now and I've used it heavily. I still have ink too. Everything I've printed came out great. And if you register with canon you will get half off of photo paper.

This is an awesome printer. I love that the paper is hidden to protect it and having a separate tray for picture paper is great. It's also really cool being able to print from my phone

I had a Canon Pixma photo printer that I LOVED which recently died. Unfortunately Best Buy dropped to ball about notifying me that the Black Tie Protection was expiring. Bought an HP to replace it but it was REALLY noisy and the display screen was in the way for scanning. I do a LOT of scanning. Had to call Canon about helping me figure out how to scan in the way I was used to doing. They were VERY helpful and so far everything is good. It is a little slower for scanning. And if you haven't printed anything in a while it takes a little longer but I love Canon. This is my 3rd Canon printer. In the meantime I had a Dell printer that came with computer that was okay (Ink was expensive and hard to get) and an Epson that also came with computer that did NOT do what I needed in regards to scanning. And the HP that I returned to Best Buy after spending over an hour on the phone with HP to set it up (because it didn't come with ANY instructions) only to find out that it would NOT scan the way I needed it to do. And this was after I spent an hour with the HP customer service BEFORE purchasing and they assured me that it would do what I needed it to do. It is still a learning experience with the new technology. One cool thing with scanning is that I don't have to tell it to rotate - it does it automatically! Boy was I surprised when this happened. Paper tray is enclosed - keeps paper flat and keeps dust out of printer. Haven't used fax yet.

I like the printer. I like the separate ink cartridges. I do believe the machine is built cheaply, therefore, buy the extended warranty. This is my 3rd Canon MX 922, this last one was replaced free.

I really like this printer, I've had no problems at all. It's slow to start, but once it starts printing it's just as fast as any printer I've owned. I'm really impressed by the quality, especially considering the price. Set-up was easy once I read the directions.
