However, some users noted that the printer can be noisy and that the paper tray could be improved. A few also mentioned occasional issues with reliability and slow warm-up times.

MX922 had some disappointed users which made me leery about buying it, perhaps due to lemons, machine age, or fraud. So I checked reviews of other brands, and encountered similar problems. Finally took the risk on MX922 and got the geek squad service plan to protect against a lemon and premature breakdown. My previous Canon was MP830. I was very happy with it – until the print head failed after 2 years $70, then the new head partly clogged, then the main board failed after 4 years – no parts available. But nothing lasts forever. MX922 also makes awesome photo prints (9600dpi). For those who complain about the high cost of ink, consider this: compare your $150 printer with a $400 digital camera. The printer is 10 times more complex and costly to design, build, ship, stock, etc. These things should cost $1,000 or more. Think of the ink as a delayed cost purchase plan, and investigate refilling it yourself. The long noisy boot/preparation time some complained about only occurred on the first few prints (for me). If my wishes could come true, I wish it had a rear feed like the MP830 (less rolling/bending of the paper (90 degrees, compared to 180 degrees), more sheets, easier to switch), clear ink tanks like MP830, I also liked more manual controls the MP830 had on print quality options and display. Why change a good design?) Also, improve the reliability so I am not worrying about the ink head clogging up again. Perhaps this could be done by parking the print head on a wet sealed tray, instead of relying on a wiper.

I grabbed this printer up one week when my 10 year old inkjet ran out of black ink, and decided to purchase a new printer. I based my search on price & overall features. I wanted one with a top-load scanning feature. This one had all the features I would need. While I'd prefer a color laserjet, I couldn't find one anywhere near this price point. I then moved on to the price, and settled on this unit. While it costed a little more than the other models I was looking at, I chose this as it had $90 in BB gift cards. Granted, I could've bought directly from Canon with that amount deducted as sale price, but then I couldn't pick it up that day. So I chose the BB gift cards. It's been a nice purchase and can't complain. While it has a bigger footprint than my old Canon, it's faster, has larger paper tray, more scan features, can duplex, can scan and print multiple pages front&back.

I was up and running in less than a half hour. The quick start instructions were well written and complete. The print quality is very good. It does seem to use more ink than my old one. I’m going to play around with lowering the quality of print for a lot of my work which I can do.

I bought the MX922 to replace my old MX340. The copy quality is good but it is bigger, slower and makes loud clunky noises. I liked my old one much better.

It was finally time to replace my beloved printer after many years of dedication to my cause. After looking at reviews, I went with the Canon Pixma MX922. It is a bit on the large size, heavy as well, but the bag it came in made for easy removal from the box.
This Printer does it all, scan, photos, printing, copies, and fax. It can be a bit noisy at times, but I was used to that because my almost dead printer did the same thing. It’s as if it needs to adjust or ‘something’ from time to time and you’ll hear clicks and such.
This is a wireless printer with Wi-fi….I love the feature. Being a student and my boyfriend a financial manager who can and does work from home, I find myself laying claim to MANY different spaces around house.....his home office. So wireless printing is a must have in our home due to the musical chairs we play throughout the day.
Faxing and scanning are both a breeze. There is a photo app that you can download after purchasing the printer which allows you to edit and print your photos straight from your devices as well.
There are two paper sources: the paper tray and the loading tray on top. The paper tray does not hold a huge amount of paper, about 250 sheets but it has proven to be adequate for home office use. It would not be enough in a busy workplace, but for our home office, we have not missed anything.
Set-up was quick and painless with the wireless capabilities and best of all, you don't have to worry about messy, unattractive cords hanging around. You just plug it in, get to work with your set-up, and voila! The instructions that came with the Printer were adequate and easy enough to understand. I had no glitches or problems there.
I have really liked the quality and capabilities of Canon printers I have owned in the past and the MX922 so far has not disappointed me!

I've had this for a couple of months now and am quite pleased with the performance. Set-up was a breeze. The extra black cartridge slot is major plus. It scans well and the photo prints are very good resolution.

I purchased this printer for a couple of reasons. It was on sale and I'd had good luck with my prior Canon Pixma printer.
I've not yet used it to print photos, so I can't address the quality of that part of the machine, nor will I ever use it as a fax machine.
It scans documents well and stores them on my computer in a spot that is reasonably easy to find (this was not the case with the prior Canon). The quality of the documents I've printed have been good, ONCE I'm able to print them. It seems there's a flaw in the program or something. I have connected both a laptop and a desktop to the printer. If both are on... just on, don't need to be actually doing anything on both, the printer will not print. Instead, you receive a message stating the printer is being used by another machine. That is a MAJOR problem for those people who have multiple computers connected. And according to one on-line forum group, this issue has existed for a few years with no significant attempt by Canon to fix it.

Easy to set up. Great quality printing/scanning. Scanning utility is simple to use.
Software is minimal and does not slow down your PC.
It is rather large, so you will need a decent amount of space for it.

I have owned printers from brother, hp, Epson, and so on. I have never been completely satisfied until I purchased this printer. It does take some time to get it warmed up, but once it is, it is unstoppable!

This printer has met and exceeded our expectations: relaible wireless connectivity, serves multiple laptops in the house that are not hard-wired to it, large paper tray, quick print times, great print quality...... and a fabulous price during a pre-Christmas sale.

My only complaint is that the printer failed after about 20 months. But I was able to get another -- same brand, same model. Ink is relatively inexpensive if you shop on eBay!
We really are pleased with the copying and fax component of this printer. The print quality is excellent and you can easily control how the printer prints on a page and the number of pages you want to print.

This purchase is my second Canon printer in the last two years. The first was the 822 and stopped working just before my extended warranty expired, so I purchased the 922 to replace it. Set up was easy, print speed is quick, ink replacements are expensive but last a long time. Photo printing is excellent with Canon photo paper. I love wireless capability to print from any device in the house!

Since the 90's I have only purchased HP ink jet printers. The last one sent me over the edge when it rejected my genuine HP ink cartridge; stating it wasn't an HP. It was the last straw. I'm glad it happened because this printer is a great improvement. Boots up quickly, prints fast, and generally performs better than any printer I have owned. Plus, no more pesky pop up boxes asking me useless questions about buying On line or other HP advertising.
