Don't Recommend - Fine Print Quality but Broken

    Posted .

Overall, I do not recommend this printer. Overall, the print/scan quality was good for the price of the printer, but I've had this printer for less than a year and it's already broken. I didn't have any issues with the initial set-up but the printer only worked its "best" for about 6 months. Even from my first use of the printer, it made an odd clicking sound each time before it fed the paper inside. The printer recently began incorrectly feeding paper, causing paper jams nearly every time I tried to print. In the cases where the paper was fed through enough, it would get stuck while printing. I had to guide the paper into the feeder and then gently pull on the paper as it printed to prevent jams. This happened with a variety of paper types - plain printer paper, cardstock, label paper, sticker paper, etc.

    DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER. It is a piece of junk. Problems: I had to call for help in getting it to install on my Mac. The digital display is so bad I have to use my phone flashlight to read it, and it is inconveniently located at the back left of the machine. Supposedly has a flash drive port on the BACK of the printer--I can't find it. JAMS constantly, especially if trying to print labels. Will not even take light cardstock, and you can only load a small amount of paper at a time. Pros: Good quality photos & printing when it doesn't jam, scans well and has an automatic feeder.

    Issues connecting to Wi-Fi

The set-up guide directs you to a website to download drivers and application for the printer. I tried to connect to the website 4 times with no luck. I finally went to the Canon support page for my printer and downloaded the application and drive is from there . It's only been two days and I have not used all the functions but the printer seems to be working fine

Low Price, but total crappy printer

Very low purchase price, but this is an example of "you get what you pay for". VERY slow, half the time docs get stuck in printer queue and never print or mysteriously will print out 5 hours later. Have had to "reset" everything twice already, and problems still recur. Forget any phone or online tech service support from Canon, unless you've got an hour to wait around. In summary, STAY AWAY FROM THIS CRAPTACULAR PRINTER

This printer has been a piece of junk since day one. The paper feed rollers have never grabbed on their own without me having to nudge the paper forward even though I could see them inside just spinning on top of the paper. 9 times out of 10 the paper will make it half way through and then jam requiring you to flip the printer over and open the back and fight with it to get the paper out. The scanner scans everything crooked no matter precisely you place the paper on the bed. Bottom line is buy something else. This printer was a waste of $120.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER.. my father bought me this on October 7th 2020 for my birthday worked great for a couple months now it will not print more then one thing without giving me some service error it’s so annoying and most time I am unable to print and end up saying screw it. I’ve taken great care of it to prevent this so it sucks this is the outcome. Do yourself a favor and go with a different printer.. if it works good for you now it won’t last

The complicated wifi setup via the website does not work. Far better connecting it to wifi manually using the keypad. Seems like a printer from 10y ago in terms of speed. Quality and reliability OK

It will work just long enough for you not to be able to return it to Best Buy. They'll send you away and say contact Canon. They are impossible to get ahold of. Be prepared for 1 hour wait times. My printer is still jamming and I cannot get warranty satisfaction. This printer is garbage and I can't get help from Canon or Best Buy.

Worst printer on the market!!! We’ve had ours for a year now. At first it was amazing! It printed as fast as you could push the button on your computer. 6 months in it stopped recognizing the network every other week the panel is not user friendly at all, so I have to give it 1 star!

Printer is not designed well. 1) Goes through a ton of ink. 2) Feed tray pulls sheets crooked, which causes jams and/or crooked copies. 3) Randomly prints documents landscaped orientation, thus wasting paper. Be prepared to spend lots of money on ink and paper.

Terrible Wi-Fi problems with this printer

I have to turn the printer on and off most of the time so it reconnects with Wi-Fi. Also, I have to turn the router off and on because the printer loses Wi-Fi connection. To print a page takes way too long.

Earlier this year I bought a Canon TR4520. I do limited printing so it worked well, however, I needed to replace a ink cartridge so I went to Walmart and they were out in fact they had very few Canon cartilages. Then to Best Buy and they were also out . Next to Staples and the same story. I was able to ask a sales person at Staples what was the problem and he said Canon was not able to maintain their ink supply and their store had not had my refills in over three months. He recommended that I look for a new printer other than Canon or a HP, which was having the same problems
