I bought this printer a few days ago. Setup took me 30 mins for all the computers (4) in the home and phones (2). The instructions to setup are extremely clear. I wanted a cheap printer for my daughter's school work. I am assuming the photo print quality is not going to be great since the printer is reasonably priced. But thats not why I bought it. I have a laser monochrome printer which is not network ready, so the canon is a huge convenience. The print quality is decent for documents. It is dead slow compared to my laser but thats not a fair comparison. I dont print color much, so this is good for me. I was also able to buy the XL cartridges for a good price (original, not refill or OEM). Overall, I am happy with the printer for the price i paid. If you print a lot and have no space constraints, get a laser.

Ok, I was a little skeptical of getting this printer considering all of the bad reviews that were in the foreground. However, I’m so glad I purchased this little printer! I use it to print artwork for my Etsy shop and the quality is outstanding! I really like this printer, it’s got so many different features, from fax, scanning, copying, you name it. And the wireless aspect of it is awesome too! Makes for one less cord draping across my floor. Many buyers said that the wireless connection part was the worst part about the printer, but, I set mine up in a breeze. You just have to have a little know-how in tech to accomplish this. I recommend going to Canon’s website and downloading the latest driver for the printer prior to setup. It helped me a ton. My computer picked up this printer instantly and connected without issues. My iPad also connected to it without problems. So, ignore the crumby reviews and go for it. I’ve had a great experience with this versatile printer so far. Highly recommend it!

I have had a monochromatic brother printer since I graduated high school and absolutely love it. It lasted me 7 years until I started grad school last year. I am in graduate school and I outline all of my lectures/color coordinate subjects etc., so when I need color printing I would just go to campus and use the printing services there. Because of the coronavirus outbreak, our campus shut down and we are transitioning to at home learning. I immediately had to search for a good color printer that automatically printed on both sides, was all-in-one, wireless and wouldn't break my budget. Pros: This printer does all that! It was relatively easy to setup through the canon set up website. I did have some issues at first with the quality of the color printing but after some troubleshooting and adjusting my margins, it worked out well. Overall, not many complaints. Its a good printer for what I paid and I hope it will last at least through the duration of my grad program. Cons: However, this printer is slow. It takes great pauses between sheets to the extent that I thought only the first page of my document was sent to the printer. This isn't ideal but not a deal breaker. The troubleshooting on setup wasn't outrageously difficult, but it did take patience and I ended up wasting alot of ink due to the multiple test sheets I had to print. I don't consider myself tech-savvy but I can follow directions exceptionally well and everything I needed was well laid out in the manual. Overall, if you're a broke graduate student who needs a decent color printer for light-moderate use, this is a good one. I got it on sale at $49.99 and so far it's worth it.

I have used several multifunction pointers and I always purchase a Canon. The footprint is not too large, but it is a little larger than I wanted so I deducted a star. That will be my only negative comment. Wireless Set up was easy Print is clear and crisp, colors are vivid and natural Price of ink is comparable Simple to operate and connect to iOS and Windows. Speed may be a factor for some. Overall a great product at a great price

Great price. Working fine for our needs ( we don’t print a lot - maybe 20-30 pages a week for miscellaneous things at home). Set up was pretty easy although when I started wireless linking to home computer I ran into a ‘ bad actor’ who attempted to appear as a Canon rep thru a chat session .... be careful. Otherwise, I would recommend and I would buy again.

This printer produces great colored prints, but is quite loud and rather slow. It also appears to be guzzling ink! I've had it only a month and my black ink is almost gone with minimal printing.

I am not a heavy printer user. Maybe 10-20 black and white documents, copies, and scans per month, so I've always managed with budget friendly inkjet printers. These days, compared to the price of ink, inkjet printers are basically disposable. Buy one (on sale if possible), use as long as possible, then dump it and get another. My Brother all-in-one lasted about three years then died. Read the reviews and decided to try a Canon PIXMA TRA4520. Price was right, and I've always been a fan of Canon Cameras and lenses. Right off the bat, I like the upfront power button and the size and visibility of the menu and other function buttons. Setup was relatively pain-free for both my iMac and iPhone. The only tricky part for me was figuring out how to enter the letters and numbers of my wifi password on the keypad. Nothing in the enclosed paper instructions, but plenty of info online. Here's the typing guide: https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&id=ART171591 The rest of the set up was pretty straightforward and I was able to print, copy and scan from my desktop and phone within 60 minutes. So far, so good. Hope it holds up for awhile.

Great Printer But Didn’t Include Ink

I picked up the printer at my nearest location and for some reason when I opened the box there was no ink included even though the item description online mentioned 2 cartridges included. The box also mentions ink being included so I was a little disappointed that I had to pay separate for something that was suppose to be included. Aside from that, I had no trouble setting the printer up. It took me maybe 15-25 minutes on the computer and 10-15 to connect it to my phone. I’ve printer a few copies and so far so good! You can’t beat the quality for the price. The printer itself feels sturdy. Great quality as expected from Canon.

Love this printer for home office. It's compact for the function and the Wireless capability daves me on a daily basis. My only issue why I give ot 4stars, because ot frequently, falls off my network, and gives me 3hr increments of grief to figure out how to restore although it's an available device on my pc. My mobile(5G) connects seamlessly, I just have to drop down to my regulare wifi network instead of 5g wifi network. It'd be amazing if there was a patch update so it would work on 5g. Also, I wish that I could ever find the XL size printing cartridges. Maybe once Ive found. I would stock up if I could.

I bought this to replace a big HP printer that was a piece of junk! Got it home and had it set up and running in only minutes. I have not used the fax yet, but the print quality is great, its not super fast but that's OK. Scanner works well, the wireless aspect is awesome for printing from my phone or iPad. I like this one a lot! Oh one more thing price was fantastic!

Easy to install - printing scanned items as well as printing from a laptop work well. Haven't tried faxing, printing from a smartphone, or scanning to laptop yet. The ink the printer comes with was depleted rather quickly - the black ink cartridge needed to be replaced after printing only a few items - so be sure to get new ink right away after purchasing the printer. Print quality is very good for the price. The display screen on the top doesn't tilt up like my old printer's did, so you need to be standing right over the printer to read it. Overall, though, it seems to be a solid little printer.

Positives: This is an all in one printer that's very easy to use. I would recommend it for students or anyone that only needs to print a couple documents or photos a year. It does monochrome black on regular paper super fast, and although color on photo paper does take forever, the results are just as great as a professional printer. It's a quiet machine and it's wifi capable. Printing through the app is a game changer. Negatives: two things. One, the scanner is low quality. I would not recommend using the scanner feature for any sort of art unless you plan to digitally edit afterwards, but it DOES produce legible documents. Two, expect paper jams and wasted ink. This thing gets HUNGRY. I've experienced jams in the beginning, middle, and end of projects. No matter how precisely you load it, how many prayers you make beforehand, you will experience jams.
