Good Price But Setting Up Was A Bear

Good and inexpensive printer-scanner-fax that does the b basics. I replaced an older PIXMA that lasted approximately 3-4 years, so the low price is a good return. Replacement cartridges cab cost almost as much as the printer-scanner-fax, The worst part was setting up the machine as printed instructions were not included and going to the website was useless. Best Buy did give me some "free" adv ice when I went back to the store. May wife and I spent many hours and still needed a computer expert friend to help us set it up. We are still not sure if the fax will work. Setting up the wireless functions was a bear. Would recommend only if you are up to it to set it up by yourself.

For the money, this printer does everything I need. I wish it had an internal paper tray, but for this price point, it totally meets expectations. Great quality copies. Set up was easy.

Not a bad little printer The only thing I do not like about it is the paper tray you can put very little paper in and then it sticks out and doesn't go underneath the printer when you're done.

Great Prints, Great Scans--If You Keep It Ink Fed

I gave the Canon Pixma TR-4720 2 out of 5 stars—not because it can’t print or scan well (it actually does both quite nicely), but because it holds those features hostage unless you keep it well-fed with ink. Let’s start with the good: print quality? Sharp. Scan quality? Impressive. No complaints there. But then there’s the menu panel—no backlight whatsoever, so unless you’ve got perfect lighting and a good angle, navigating the settings feels like trying to read a road map in the dark. Now, the real kicker: if one ink cartridge runs out—color or black—the printer refuses to print. Even if you’re just trying to print in black and white. And just to keep things extra frustrating, the scanner also won’t work if the ink is empty. That’s right—no scanning, no printing, just a very expensive paperweight until you restock. So, in short: fantastic print and scan quality, but only if you’re willing to play by its ink-hoarding rules. If you run out, it’s not just out of ink—it’s out of service.
