The reason it is getting a 3 is because you need to change the paper when you are switching between regular and picture. it also will not hold legal size paper A printer this size should have at least 2 trays

Good printer

I am to print front my HP computer. I had trouble installing it, but, no problem once installed.

Scanner not connecting

I needed the printer more than the scanner, which is what does NOT seem to be connecting to my laptop. The rest works fine. Haven't had time to mess with it otherwise I'd maybe have given this 4 stars.

It's a Typical Printer

Besides that, it suffers the same shortcomings as all printers: namely, it fails to print something when you really need it printed. I have concluded this is because printer engineers are not capable of making a printer which will reliably connect to a computer. I would like to be clear that this is a problem not just for the Canon PIXMA TR4720, but for all printers, ever. Clearly those tasked with designing printers are chosen not by their merits, but by their incompetence, and making an unreliable printer is less detrimental than making an unreliable operating system, CPU, hard drive, or some other much more important component of a computer.

Sadly upon setting up found printer only came with Starters and alas ran out of ink sooner than expected
