    Good Home Printer

I've only had this for about a month and haven't done a lot of printing yet. This replaces a Canon MX922. The TR8520 prints documents well and quickly. Photo prints are good quality for a home inkjet printer. If you're expecting good quality lab printing, then it's best to send the pictures to a quality lab. Having said that, the prints are good enough quality for sharing with friends, etc. Build quality seems a little flimsy. It's not falling apart, but it's not as solidly built as the MX922. I would like the paper tray to have a larger capacity. The second paper tray is not really a tray. The paper stands up in the back and is exposed to the air. I use that for photo paper. I wish it was an enclosed paper tray. It also prevents the printer from being up next to the wall. With the prior printer, I didn't have to access the back of the printer and it could go against the wall. (the desk it sits on is next to a wall). The scanner appears to work well. I have not explored various paper sizes. So far, I have only printed on 8 1/2" x 11" standard paper and 4" x 6" photo. I haven't read what other paper sizes will work. Over all, it appears to be a good printer and I would recommend it. I purchased it on sale at Best Buy for just under $100. At that price point, it is an excellent printer.

Prints great, quiet, compact, easy to use. Had my last Canon printer for 10 yrs. was still working...only replaced so I could use airprint for my apple devices. Hope to get 10 yrs from my new Canon printer.

This is my second Canon Pixma printer. The last one (a different model) had serious printing issues after at least 6 years, so hoping this one lasts as long. It is noisy for sure but prints quickly. Connecting via iphone or laptop was pretty easy. Make sure to set up the wifi/network directly in the printer itself in addition to setting up the iphone app and laptop software. I love that it will print double sided, to save on paper. I wish it had a port for a thumb drive (has an SD card slot) but no big deal. I’ve only had it less than 2 months so I haven’t tried photo printing yet. I did notice that the scanner/copier bed cover is made of pretty cheap plastic and there is no receptacle to catch the prints, so the paper shoots right out onto the floor. The printer wakes up on its own when a print job is sent to it, despite other users saying that they had to manually wake it up. After 1.5 months the ink is half full and I might print 10-15 pages a day (color and b&w). Not sure of the capacity of the cartridges that it came with it. All in all it’s been a good purchase so far without issues. (Crossing my fingers!)

Great printer for the money, and handles card stock, photo prints, scanning and regular paper printing very well.. easy to set up either wired or wireless, and to print from portable devices around the house. Also appreciate the ability to use refilled cartridges from 3rd parties without problems.

I’m a huge fan of Cannon and I absolutely love this printer. I’m a teacher so I’m constantly printing and copying things for work; I’m so thankful that this thing is so easy to use! I have a photo project in mind and I can’t wait to start using it for that.

This printer is easy to use. Easily hooks up to wireless printing from any and all of your electronics, phone, tablets, computers. As well as your Cloud accounts, google, one drive, etc. It prints quickly, scans to an email or into your computer, etc easily. I have not yet used it for pictures but based on my color copies i have made i am confident that the pictures will come out vibrant with color. I would buy it again and recommend to friends and family.

Setup was easy for this printer and the output so far is showing the quality level I was after. The scanner features I've used up to now have been very satisfactory. Price was right and it's a definite improvement over my previous Brother printer which had basically given up the ghost.

Love the wireless feature that I can use to print pictures and emails from my cell phone. It is also super easy to download my photos from my Cannon Camera. The print quality is excellent. I also use this with my Cricut Explorer to do the print and cut function. Its a perfect sized all in one printer that is easy to light and doesn't take up a bunch of space so it can be left out all the time.

Picked as replacement for previous PIXMA printer

I had a PIXMA MX892. That printer lasted me only 6 years, which was shorter than I was hoping, but I had a good enough experience with it (especially the printer ink cost) that I wanted to pick up another PIXMA. Much like my purchase of the 892, I did a little research on reviews and costs, prior to going to the store to purchase. I didn't have much time, as I needed a replacement about an hour before Best Buy was going to close (as I needed to print airline tickets for the next day). After all my research, I decided on this printer specifically based on the price combined with features. After initial setup, I could not be happier. There's not much more I can elaborate on, that hasn't already been covered on the reviews, but I highly recommend this printer for those that are replacing a PIXMA printer that they enjoyed using. In all the reviews I read, the one common denominator was being pricey. I purchased at a $129.99 sale price, which is actually 1 dollar more than the current list price. I'd say that the price now makes it one of the best bang for the buck printers available.

I've had very good success putting this printer into use. The printing is quick, clear, and quiet. Set up was easy and quick. No issues encountered at all. I have found that in order to print, I have to physically open the front cover. This is slightly problematic, especially if I'm printing from my phone or from outside the home.

Printer, copier, scanner, fax and prints HD photos! User friendly screen, good looking and compact, both side printing and a bunch of other options. It literally has everything you need for a HOME printer. I'm extremely satisfied with this purchase. P.S. If you need an office printer with huge trays and extremely fast printing, this is not the printer for you!

I purchased this printer after my last Canon printer stopped printing and displayed an error. It turns out it's cheaper to buy a new printer than to repair one, except I had recently purchased expensive ink for the old printer that I can't use now. This printer has been working as it should. Nothing spectacular, it works fine, prints relatively fast, and the prints are clean and I have not had any paper jam so far after about 2 months. I have not tried printing pictures, but everything else I have printed have came-out fine. Two things to note about this printer - first, I expected the ink that came with the printer to only last a couple of days since included inks are usually less than half full. After two months I still have not run out of any of the colors, which is a pleasant surprise. The second thing to note is that as some others have stated, Canon has missed the mark on the design of the output tray on this printer. In other words, there is no output tray. There is a short extending arm that is supposed to hold the printed papers but it can only hold a few pages before they start falling on the ground. And the whole thing is so fragile, one small knock and it either comes-off or I believe can break. But that being the only major flaw of the printer so far is not bad and I only took-off one star for that. I would overall recommend this printer.

I bought this printer, and switched to the Canon brand, after disappointing results with another brand over the course of the last 2 years. So far this printer has been fantastic. Print quality for both documents and photos has been great, print speed is just fine for home use, and it was easy to set up, connect, and get running. Using the rear print door can be a bit of a pain, only due to the fact that it has to be closed when not in use or it gives an error. I also signed up for the easy replenish ink program and the first refill has already been delivered. Overall I've been quite please with the switch and hope that in the coming months the print quality continues to impress - previous printers have not delivered in that regard so hoping this one holds up.

Quality printing and very easy setup procedures with many different connection types. I can print direct from my mobile device with a simple app or I can connect wirelessly from my laptop/desktop no USB cable required. I had a pixma for years before this and my new model seems to have improved on my old one in every way. I just hope it lasts as long!

Nice size printer and has all the functions to meet my needs. The initial set up was easy. I did have issues when I tried to set up the wireless portion. I had to get my sister to assist me and was finally able to operate the printer wireless. The finish product is very nice.

Easy to set up and connect to all your computers/devices. The smaller footprint takes up less space than a bigger printer. Crisp, clean colors. The only drawback is the paper eject after printing, would have liked an actual tray to hold the paper. Overall good value for the money.

I had to replace my Epson 630 printer since red ink port git clogged and having it repaired would have cost same as buying a new one. I chose Canon TR8520 printer since it was priced well and specifications met our home use needs. Setting it up was very easy. You basically do nothing, compared to setting up the old Epson printer. I didn't even have to enter the WiFi password. It figured it out itself. Print and scan quality is very high. I wish the set up instructions would explain why there are two black ink cartridges, one narrow and another wide, that need to be installed together. I am hoping there is an explanation in the downloaded manual. Otherwise, I am very happy with it and recommend it.
