decent printer, but has odd, annoying features

i bought this a but over a month ago, and it works okay, but has this really annoying feature where it randomly beeps sometimes. we could be in the middle of dinner, or watching a movie, or trying to sleep, and the printer turns itself on, emits a random single long beep, and then quiets down again. i set it to quiet mode, but that didn’t seem to help. i also don’t like that the display needs to be sticking out to print. if i’m printing remotely, then i don’t need to access the display, but it needs to be out anyway or it’ll get an error. because of this, the display is always sticking out, and that just seems unnecessary. as far as printing, everything seems to work fine, but between the display and the random beeps, i think i’m going to return this.

I had an older canon printer that needed replacing. This model was a nice upgrade. It took a little effort to get it to connect wirelessly to my laptop and iPhone but now I can print from either device which is very convenient. The scanner works seamlessly with my laptop as well.

I purchased this printer for our house. I feel like it’s overreaching it’s capability. It’s wireless, prints color, prints photos, and scans, but not very detailed. The app is also not very user friendly. But for the price, it’s not bad.

I am a 25yr Canon fan. If Canon made it.. I have it. They keep up with technology and what people expect to see in their products. However, I was a little disappointed in the paper tray with this model, and the single ink tanks. I own a Canon 9000S which has the same costly single ink tanks. I really didn't want to go back to that! I spent over 30 mins in the Best buy printer area contemplating which printer would better suit my needs. The older models like the one I currently own, that has an ample paper feeder, an all in one color ink tank, and a fax. After about 10 mins of bouncing back and forth, I saw another female doing the same. She stated she had the same complaints, but she was just trying to purchase a printer..not brand specific. I ended up getting this one due to the fact that it has a fax, it has Bluetooth capabilities and it is easier to print photos from my phone. Plus it has an nifty display screen. Once an SD card is inserted in the front, the reader will display the photos from the card for you to print. I thought that was awesome. I believe it will do the same for documents if they are loaded on the card. It's a great idea if your kids have projects or photos they want to print and you don't want to go through the hassle of hooking up to a computer first. It would have been more convenient to have a USB reader as well just for an added option. I'm not thrilled about the paper feeder since I'm limited to less than half of what I use to load in my older Canon. I also have to get use to purchasing the the single tanks again, but at least the printer has a feature where you can sign up to have ink delivered to you when you get low. We'll see...

Wireless set up too some time as the system couldn't find the printer so had to figure how to manually enter to connect to printer. Printer has good color quality for printing photos. But all other regular printing it seems to use too much ink so ink goes low fast!

Needed a printer to use with an IPad. Set up worked good as long as you followed the directions carefully. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is I haven't used it enough for a durability rating. It receives data quickly and prints with good quality. Well worth the price.

Purchased this printer to replace one that was having freezing issues. Pro's prints more sheets per minute. Con does not automatically flip to print both sides. Has more printer cartridges than my previous model so that is a factor and the cartridges for this model are a few cents cheaper than my previous model.

In September 2019, I headed to Michigan to assist with an urgent family matter. The first round of paperwork that needed to be filled out and printed cost a small fortune :( It was more cost effective and convenient to purchase a printer and have it readily available. The printer is wireless and I can print from my laptop, phone or other mobile devices. The scan feature has allowed me to digitize documents I needed to have readily available.

A very good printer with a major handicap

Best Buy did the usual awesome job of having the order ready. Printer was easy to set up and use. Print quality is as usual for canon - quite good. Overall, this is a very good All-in-One unit with a serious handicap - who in the world thought it was a good idea to require the control panel to be flipped fully up in order to print? This means if you print from another room and the panel is down, nope not gonna print, you have to go to the printer and flip the thing up and then reprint whatever it was because it seems to flush the print buffer after the error message. Definitely -2 stars for that.

I've been using Canon printers and they've been mostly reliable. This one is no exception. There are few kinks but I feel they'll be ironed out during the life span. Canon rarely doesn't fix known issues for their flagship printers. So far it's been good and printing quality is what you'd expect from Canon.

The machines prints, copies and scans well my only issue is that when it goes to sleep mode I have to manually wake it up. I had hope there was a way to send a signal from my phone to it to be able to amend this annoyance. Other than that I love it

Very good once setup. I bought it on the recommendation of one of your consultants. What he said made perfect sense: If you’re purchasing a copier to make quality photo prints buy a copier made by a company that makes quality cameras, Cannon. I plan on purchaseing a Cannon camera in the near future.

For the price I paid, this printer is great. My biggest annoyance is I have to flip the front up any time I’d like use it. This isn’t the greatest based on my printer’s location as I don’t want to leave it up all the time. Still, as far as printing is concerned, it does a good, quick job!

I like this printer because it doesn't take so much space on the desk as my previous one. It was relatively easy to set up (I'm not particularly tech savvy). The flip out section was a little hard to get used to but no longer a problem. Copies have been clear; speed is fast enough for my home use. During the first week, I had to reprogram it once as several others reported on previous reviews. Since then, it has worked beautifully.
