Perfect replacement printer (for my needs)!

My previous ink jet printer gave up the chase after many years of great performance. I wanted a printer with a similar small foot print, and this model fills the bill. My needs are pretty simple, I am not a small office. Simple setup, solid performance. I am well satisfied.

Printing is great quality. Features are good, especially for the price. The only things I wish were different is that it turns itself off. I would rather it stayed on and ready to print. And that it had a larger capacity in the ADF. But for what it is, and the price, it's quite good.

    Finally, a reliable machine

I've owned many many printers and I'm impressed with how quiet this printer and scanner operates. I scan a lot of documents and the automatic document feeder can handle multiple pages without jamming and that's all I ever wanted from a home office printer / scanner device..

Easy to set up and use. I don't do a high volume of printing, but it's been working well. I even printed a pic on photo paper and that turned out very nice.

    Good combo printer/scanner/fax

This combo is a replacement to my Canon Pixma MX922 which died after 3 years of light service. This model replaces it, for a price tag below $100. Why did I buy Canon again? I've had even worse experience with competitors, that's why. My complaints: 1. only 3 years of service? 2. why do I have to leave the front cover open if I want to be able to print any time, from all around the house? seems like a bad mechanical design. 3. Why are the ink cartridges not compatible with the previous model? from the outside, they look just the same.

    I really like this printer

I have had this printer for almost 2 months and it is really good. It is quite and fast with a nice sized touchpad. The top feeder cover seems a bit flimsy but has been fine so far. I would not force it though. Cannon was recommended to me and I, in turn, will recommend it. I like the ink too. Cannon has 3x the amount of black ink storage and that seems to make it so it runs out of all inks at about the same time. I can't comment on how fast it runs out of ink yet. Some reviews mentioned it constantly turned off and that was a concern. I have not found that to be a problem at all and use it randomly during the day with hours in between usage. No problem or hassle.

Printer set up, had a few issues, but overall went well. Print Quality is good, but was expecting better photo quality. Features of printer perform as intended.

When my older Canon all in one printer finally stopped working, I wanted to replace it with another Canon. During this COVID-19 time it proved difficult to find one. I went back to Best Buy and was able to get one in just one week. Works great!

Stoped working after three months ...

As a previous Canon printer owner, I went for this compact unit for two main reasons, wireless connectivity and size. After installing the printer at home we realized that the printer goes into sleep mode and that in order to print remotely, the printer can not be on sleep mode and the front panel needs to be opened so if any of these conditions were not right at the time of printing, the process would not work, defeating the whole purpose. On top of that and after only three months with the printer (and maybe some 250 print outs), the bottom feeder mechanism broke so now every page gets jammed not allowing me to print. I searched for a way to select the back tray as the main paper source, but could not find, so after only three months of operations, this printer stoped working and it is now completely useless.

So far so good, have had the printer going for about a week. After an extremely simple setup (it prints it's own page to align the heads!) I've been good to go. Printing is high quality and the auto-duplex feature is really handy.

The printer is okay but the program that comes with it is the pits. I do not like the photo and document program at all. The worst of it is that it goes through ink like Popeye goes through spinach. I don't print that much--maybe 10 letters a week and I spend $60+ a month on cartridges. Within a week it starts telling me that the ink is low. I would love to dump it back on your doorstep.

Very good printer. Really like the fact that you can print from your cell phone. The only thing I don’t really like is the paper tray and the extension for supporting the printed item. Seems kind of cheap. As far as printing and the quality of the print , it is good.

    Great Printer But Bulky

It has a good print quality. Pictures are great. Documents are great. It prints fast. My one complaint is the layout. The screen is in the. Way of the outgoing tray. You have to tilt the screen all the way up to get your printed job or to add paper. Just gets crowded in my opinion.

Does exactly what we need it to do which is occasional at home printing. We’ve only had it a few weeks. Set up was fairly simply straight out the box with ink included. Pet peeve!!! - it won’t print unless dispenser tray is pulled out and fully extended. That’s really annoying if you prefer the compact look of the printer with the display screen down. It prints a little slow but not drastically so. All printers are overpriced given the pandemic so keep that in mind. This one is no exception, but works fine.

We get quality prints but for some reason we have to turn the printer on each time before we want to print... maybe we have something set up wrong???

My Poor Printer that I had before this had passed away. This is the printer that replaced my Cannon TR 4520. There are great difference. The TR 8520 is a Good Replacement. The differences are this printer has 2 different paper trays, One in the front under the printer and the other is a standard paper tray located in the back. The ink cartridges are easier to install. The 4.5 inch colored screen is easier to see than the monochrome 2" x 1" screen on the other printer. This printer has a top feed tray for faxing and for scanning paperwork through for making copies. I like the colored menu. It makes everything easier. I just bought this to replace my dearly departed TR 4520 Printer.

Not a bad printer but not too fast. Printouts are pretty good but individual scans take anywhere from 30 - 45 seconds. Print quality is good. Fairly versatile regarding how it can be hooked up to your PC or network. Pros: cheap, good quality printouts, individual ink cartridges, versatile. Cons: super slow scans, front display touchscreen has to be raised or else it gives you an error and won't print the page. Kind of annoying...

Small footprint printer . Much better than my previous Pixma 922. Straightforward wireless setup w/o hiccups. So far better yield with the ink tanks. I printed 500 pages in the first weeks without problems and excellent quality print with different types of paper
