Printer can print on multiple size papers. The photo quality is superb. It is wireless. You don't really need the app to print. I printed from my phone and my laptop without issue.

Upgraded from an HP to a Canon and I'm very happy

Canon PIXMA TR8520 has been a welcomed change from my old HP printer. For starters, there is no ink subscription and when I need to change only one color, I simply go to the store and buy it, giving me more control over the cost management. Second, the printer itself has a very high-quality of print, even for an inkjet device. And third, the built-in features and compact nature make it perfect for any size desk.

    Meets my needs

I looked for weeks to replace my 8-year old HP printer. I wanted separate color cartridges and found HP to have abandoned that with their consumer line. I have had Canon printers in the past, so I decided to try one again. I am very happy with how quickly this printer wakes up and gets to work. I'm used to my other printer sitting for awhile performing "preparation" first. Before purchasing this printer, I read some reviews that said this printer won't auto wake after going into power save. That is not true. There is a setting where you can select how it should act. Print quality is at least on-par with my old printer. I really like the auto-document feeding scanner. However, it seems to darken scans, compared to working just fine using the flatbed. The auto-feed performs perfectly for copies though. I've been using this product for 2 months now and am happy with my purchase.

It's good but too many moving parts.

The printer overall is good, I haven't tried the fax as of yet though. My gripe is that this printer has too many moving parts made out of plastic and some of which feels finicky. When printing pictures it is a must that you use the back feeder option. If not, it will say no paper detected blah blah blah. I haven't figured out if a work around is possible, but not every print needs to be a photo paper production for it to be proprietary to the feeder the way Canon made it with this model. Other than that it works good, and i hope it stands the test of time.

Overall this is a good printer and it is realtively easy to set up and run. My only problem withit is that it has a tendency to shut down (power saver?) and I have to manually turn it on when I use my laptop. This is more of an annoyance than a real problem. The copy and scan features are very good and easy to use.

The speed and print quality is exceptional. Complete setup required using the CD included, which was fine, just took some time. The benefit is that updated drivers were automatically found and updated. The multiple paper feeds are really handy. I no longer have to unload the paper tray to use specialty/photo papers. Wireless works flawlessly (after CD setup). Really amazing amount of printer versatility and quality for a very reasonable price.

I purchased this Canon - PIXMA TR8520 Wireless All-In-One Printer because it had good reviews and was reasonably priced. I have just begun to use it and it does a good job printing pages but I am not impressed with the photo I printed. I will have to "play around" with it and see if it can do better. I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars at this point.

Once the Coronavirus pandemic started, I needed a way of printing things from home and this printer definitely fits my needs. Fast printing speeds and it's not too loud either. I love benign able to print something from the other side of the house thanks to the Bluetooth connectivity option. Decent price too.
