Easy to use printer with document feeder
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an Epson 424 previously & had nothing but problems with it. The set up on the Canon - PIXMA TR8520 was very easy. I like having the document feeder, as well as, the horizontal paper tray.

Great basic printer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to set up. One of the few printers that still has an ethernet port so you don't have to deal with the constant headache of your printer dropping off the wifi network all the time.

Works well, does what’s advertised
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This unit has worked very well for printing, copying, and scanning. It was a little cumbersome to set up, but once it was all set up it has been fine. I recommend it for the value.

Unrefined, Clunky Software, Terrible Scanning
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The good: -- Setup was fairly simple on wireless network. Did have one hiccup, but ultimately able to get everything connected. -- Printing pictures from my phone was pretty easy, and picture quality was good. -- It looks clean and sleek when not in use. -- If all you want is a photo printer, this will work, but look elsewhere for something smaller and cheaper, because the rest of this is just a mess. The bad: -- This thing is S-L-O-W. Like, after several years with a couple different (and obviously much older) HP printers, this "new" printer is shockingly slow. -- Feels unfinished due to a bunch of silly design flaws, to name a few: ---- You CANNOT print anything until the front of the printer (where the touchscreen is) is raised. Really, raising this isn't just for comfortable viewing angles - it MUST come up, and you have to do it manually, as well as bring out the paper catcher manually. ---- You also have to manually wake up the unit before trying to print anything. Queuing something to print doesn't automatically wake it up. ---- The touchscreen is also not very responsive, and I've have to usually press several times, and press hard before it will respond. -- The software is very unpolished. It's almost like working in DOS or something - particularly with the scanning. More silly things like not be able to simply set a preference for using the ADF whenever there is a document there, but otherwise resorting to the scanning bed when the ADF is empty. Oh no. If you set it to use the ADF, and there's nothing there, it just tells you there's nothing to scan. Dumb. The TERRIBLE: -- This machine cannot scan for crap - at least not from the ADF. I just finished taking literally over an hour to scan a 12-page document because it would consistently jam - or sometimes just SAY there was a jam, even with nothing in there. I had to feed it one page at a time, and even THEN it would say something went wrong half the time, and I'd find out later it never actually got the scan done, even though the page appeared to go through the machine, resulting in missed pages, and have to start over. And that was a slow process because, as with the printing, this thing is SLOW. Absolute nightmare. I had some issues with my old HP Envy, and am still a bit concerned about going back to it or another HP printer, but even that 5-6 year old thing was WAY better than this garbage.
