Good all in one

Have not printed photos. Mostly use it for scanning these days and it has worked well for that purpose. Have one issue, the automatic paper feeder does not do double sided scanning. A let down from my Canon 920 that died. Overall am happy with it so far.

It required me to update my Windows operating system to Windows 7. Now everything is working well. The printer functions well but does not hold a large amount of paper. Overall, I rate the printer as good.

Photos look good, and typically if the quality of the document you're trying to print is high, the output from the printer is high. However, the ink usage is abysmal. Want to print a black and white document? You better be prepared for the printer to use insane amounts of yellow, magenta, cyan, and black ink, not to mention the page black you have to supplement it with. I am thoroughly disappointed. As a student, this printer is a drain on my personal finances and it is cheaper for me to go to a local copy shop and have my documents printed rather than buy ink for this black hole of a printer. 10/10 WOULD NEVER BUY AGAIN OR RECOMMEND TO ANYONE EVER!

Swiss Army knife of printers

A good replacement for older MX850

Our old Canon MX850 finally died and repairing it was quite a bit more than buying a newer replacement. Plays well in a MAC and Windows environment. Super easy setup. Possibly not as well built as the MX850, based on the rear tray paper handling.

Not the best or easiest printer, but reliable

HP is still easiest, but after going through three HP printers in two years decided to try Canon. We shall see, but so far so good. Does not stay at the ready, as advertised, so goes into a sleep mode after a few hours and has to be manually awakened.
