My last ink jet printer was a Canon, and they are known for their reliability, so I assume this one will last, as well. However, this printer has been very "finicky." It refuses to feed some of the photo printer paper that my last printer had no problems with. It also often thinks there is no paper in the paper tray even when it is full. I often have to turn the printer on and off to get it to recognize that it has paper - that problem started the first week I owned the machine. However, the print quality is good and the printer was very economical, so I suppose you have to balance the good with the mediocre.

It did what I needed it to do. Prints copies, GREAT that it prints double sided! It connected without a usb cord. I was able to link it up to my PC wirelessly which is amazing, though I did the scan feature and it didn't work well for scanning photos, which is a bummer. The coloring came out all strange and the picture was very blurry, but it is a great all in one. It prints pretty quietly as well. Honestly I like it a lot!

Setting it up was a breeze, hooking it up to my phone for print jobs from my phone super simple.. & the quality of prints are super clear n the color pops off the page.. I FOUND MY PRINCE PRINTER AFTER KISSING SOOO MANY FROG PRINTERS LOL...

I love my new canon printer. Easy to hook up for my wife who claims she's not Tech savy. She was so excited when she got it accomplished. Was challenging with the internet connection, but after downloading the app for Canon, and figuring out the process she was good to go. The print itself is really crisp and clear. Awesome for home use and easily could be great for more. Fast and easy.

My Pixma MX922 died and I was looking for another Canon printer since I had a lot of Canon photo paper. The 922 was an excellent photo printer and I was hoping for the replacement to be just as good. The TR8620 did not disappoint, super photo quality. The MX922 was built like a tank and it weighed like it, very heavy. The TR8620 must be half the weight, which I like. Installation went smoothly, no issues. When you open and then close the front or rear paper trays, the software asks you what kind of paper you put in and then saves the result. I think some of the complaints from people are a matter of just adjusting to a newer design. Very pleased with my purchase.

I have always been a fan of Canon photography equipment; however, this is my first time of owning a Canon printer. I had just given away a 10-year old HP Photosmart All-in-One printer that was still in great condition. I had promised a friend who just started college that I would give her the HP printer, so I looked for another HP printer to replace it. I bought an HP Office Jet Pro 6968 at Best Buy. I took it home and it took me about an hour to set it up, install the software and start using it. The only thing I didn't like about the new HP was the quality of the photo print. It was not as good as my old HP printer. I returned the new HP printer and talked to the sales reps at the store. Two of them recommended Canon for better photo quality. I bought the Pixma TR8620. It shipped to my home in two days, which I really appreciated. Unpacking it was easy, as well as to install the ink cartridges. I like that it has an additional paper feeder on the backside of the printer, which is where I placed my 4x6 inch photo paper. I like that the printer has an LCD display that even provides videos to help explain how to do things on the printer. I followed the instructions from the enclosed Getting Started guide, up to a certain point. I also used Canon's online setup help and watched YouTube videos to try to properly setup the printer. I have to tell you, I have never had so much trouble learning how to set up a printer before. The instructions seem to leave out information or the information is not very clear to begin with. I searched everywhere, such as the help menus built into the printer and on my own computer. I had to go into MS Windows 10 Settings and work backwards to see if I could set up the printer this way. I was totally frustrated that it was taking me such a long time to get everything working on my PC-printer WIFI connection. No USB cable was provided, so I had to connect via WIFI. There is nothing in the users guide that explains how to scan from the TR8620 to my computer. I went online to the Canon web site and that wasn't much help. I went on YouTube to see if there are any videos on how to get the scanner part of the Canon All-in-One to scan to a computer. Finally, I found success via WIndows 10 Settings. I went and looked under setting up Printers & Scanners. I had already set up the TR8620. I found out that embedded in the name of the Canon printer were also the Scanner and Fax function of the device. I clicked on the Scanner function and worked my way back to downloading the Microsoft Scanner application, which eventually gave me the scanner capability. Now, why couldn't Canon have provided a scanner application? Maybe there is an existing scanner application, but it sure didn't get installed during the process of installing the TR8620 software. I gave Canon a 3-star rating, only because I'm happy with basically the printing quality, the copy functions, the scanning quality, and the mechanical operations of the auto-feeder. I didn't give Canon a 4- or a 5-star rating because of the poor setup and installation instructions.

Bought this for producing high quality prints of my art work for sale. It was a highly rated desk top printer for this and does do good job but it's not professional level. It's pretty intuitive and easy to operate but would not connect via wireless so I had to buy a USB cable (not included). The big negative is it's an ink hog and the cartridges are expensive and don't last long. The work around is to use off brand inks which are much, much cheaper. So far no problems doing that. Haven't used the scanner yet and the fax feature seems unnecessary. Would recommend if you want quality photo reproductions, otherwise there are better and cheaper options, especially for ink usage.

Great Printer for the price, ADF Duplex is Manual.

This printer is a good home all-in-one. The only reason I can't give it a 5 star rating is because it's a bit slower than my old MX870 and it doesn't scan 2 sided ADF documents automatically. You have to scan the top pages in first, then rotate the stack and manually put them back into the feeder for the back side. The good thing though is the software is able to collate them properly so instead of the PDF (or other output format) being pages 1,3,5 followed by pages 2,4,6 - it organizes them in the proper order. Had I known about the Manual Duplex requirement I would have purchased a different model. But overall, this printer has extremely sharp print and does a great job scanning. I don't use it for FAX.

The delivery person rang the doorbell and then waited in the car til I retrieved the printer which I appreciated . The printer was very easy to install, I installed on 2 laptops(Asus) and Lenova all in one computer. Easiest installation ever and I have had several Canon printers. It's very fast and the large screen is easy to read. I would recommend to everyone

I have never had a Canon printer, always HP. This is a perfect fit for me. I purchased and returned the highest rated HP home printer, because it was junk. Then I researched for several more weeks and settled on this one. It was super easy to install, out of the box and printing in just a few minutes. Handles card stock and various envelope sizes perfectly, seems to be very thrifty on ink, and is fast enough for my work documents as well as my personal items. The only negatives that I have found are that loading ink is a little awkward/ difficult and that scanning from the ADF can be tricky. If the paper isn't loaded just right, it will pull it through crooked and have to be redone. I am VERY HAPPY! Bye-bye HP!

I bought this to replace a very old Canon printer that I had. I loved that printer and was afraid a new one would not measure up but I'm very pleased. Some people commented on the loudness of it but there is a quiet mode that is almost inaudible. I'm not crazy about the scan utility software. It's not as user friendly as the old printer version but it's acceptable.
