Compact and Canon quality print make this a "good buy". Having to lift the screen and turn on every time is a bit of a nuisance. The light weight nature of the appliance should expect some drawbacks.

Quite easy to set up. Works with both my phone and laptop. Quality seems good so far, and colors fairly bright. I haven't used fax option. There are online instructions that are easy to access.

Although it’s trays felt thinner than those of my previous printer, it’s connectivity and printing ability make this printer a gem. I can print from my computer or my phone. I scanned and then printed out a copy of a much loved professional photo and without any fuss had a high quality duplicate. The ink is also less costly than from my previous Epson. I am happy to review it.

    A better printer

I upgraded from the worst printer I've ever had, the HP Envy Photo 7855. This new Cannon printer was on sale and is much better and much more consistent. It has the same functionality as my old printer, seems to print about the same speed and quality, but is quieter. Some of the parts and panels do feel a little cheap/flimsy, and as other have said, the ink prices are a little high, but I much rather have separate ink cartridges that can be replaced individually than multi-color ink cartridges that have to be replaced when 1 of the colors runs out. The setup instructions can be a little confusing for a first time printer owner, but it wasn't as hard as some people said. I've only had it a few week, but overall, I would say this is a good buy.l

This Canon printer replaced a similar earlier model that lost its blue tooth connection abilities. The ink is the same as the earlier model. Printing of photos is excellent. Easy setup. Highly recommend!

Overall a great printer for the price. It’s not difficult to set up or maintain. Only thing is the paper trays are really flimsy and disconnect very easily. I ended up just keeping them off.

Great quality printer and scanner. Fits my needs perfectly w/o unnecessary bells and whistles which I do not use. Easy set up for wireless printing from laptop or phone. The only issue I have is the cost of Cannon ink cartidges. But many alternatives at lower cost are available on line and w/o suffering any quality degradation. Cannon needs to step up to the plate on the cost of its cartridges.

Very fast and quiet. Very easy to install. You have to change the settings so it will start when you send a print message. There was a previous comment with how to do this. The printer hooked up to the WiFi with a minimum of effort. All in all a great printer. Only “drawback” is the control panel has to be lifted up to work.

I purchased this unit because I wanted more quality and higher end performance. I also wanted the ability to use my printer as a FAX when the need arose. I was happy that this unit was much easier to connect to my network than the lower cost printers I had used previously. The print quality is excellent. It turned out that setting up the FAX function was more involved than I anticipated (dependent on the type of phone system you have), so my plan is not to set up the FAX until I actually need to use it. Therefore I can't comment on how well that function works. I would recommend this printer if your purchase cost is less than $170.

The Perfect printer/scanner for small home duties.

The printer works for me. Light printer duty. It is cartridge based. I have found that some reviewers don't like the cartridges and opt for the ink tank machines that cost a little more, but they end up complaining about the short life span of the printer and claim it's no different than the cartridge printers. There is a difference. The cartridge printer usually last for about a thousand copies and the ink tank several thousand more. It doesn't seem like much, but for simple home use it's enough. If you are working from home and need to print a lot of copies the ink well is better, and if you are very reliant on printing service for your work at home, then it's time to invest in an office style inkjet or LaserJet printer, with possibly a service plan from the OEM manufacture. I worked at HP for 5 years in their Parts Direct department and have heard it all from customers and their printers. A lot of them are not using the right printer for their intended work/life style. If you are doing light printer duty at your home and some scanning, then this is the perfect printer for you otherwise invest in professional a grade printer. You will find they cost significantly more, not to mention the needed maintenance, preferably from the manufacture, that have access to their own knowledge base.

I just really like this printer. I had one that "died" and had just purchased ink tanks, so was really happy to get another one that used the same kind. This printer meets my needs.

This Pixma TR 8620 is very easy to set up and prints well. This is our 5th TR printer, starting with the TR8500. We have two homes, so we always have at least two of these at any one time. I guess our only negative is their durability. It seems like we are replacing it in 2 1/2 or 3 years or so, for one reason or another (not always the same problem). We like to keep the same model in order to continue using our supply of ink replacement cartridges. We usually buy this model at the current "sale" price, so it does represent a very good value, even if we do purchase one more often than we like.

The 8620a is a very versatile all in one printer that we use for very good quality printing, and scanning/copying. Thicker photo and greeting card paper work very well using the rear paper tray, which doesn’t bend the paper. The only drawback is that the front panel must be open for the printer to function and it’s somewhat flimsy. The Canon ink cartridges are pricey.

its great! previous 2019 model broke, and this is way faster, smaller, and lighter. I just wish you could keep the screen lid and tray "tucked in" always so it would look better. If you do that, it wont print.
