I bought this printer to replace my HP printer. My HP printer was unreliable. Sometimes it would work. Sometimes it wouldn't eventually spit stuff out. Set up was always a hassle. And the multi feeder broke early on when I bought it. The Canon though was super easy to set up it. It's easy to use and it was just seamless to start using it. Nothing new to learn really much and it prints well. I don't know about sound. I don't pay attention to that. You can sign up with Canon on their website to get ink sent to you from your and they charge your account. So when you're getting low on ink it'll send it to you and charge you for the cartridges or you can set it up to be charged by the numbers of copies that you use, or you can just buy your own when you need them and put them in, you aren't tied to a plan if you don't want it.

This is a decent to good printer with a few draw backs but nothing too bad. It connects easily enough, ink replacement is easy enough and it's compact. The loading tray and front catch tray are a little delicate but work. The front screen needs to be up to let the printer print (all these weird inconveniences are on the front). I think this was designed for small tight spaces. However, it was very affordable for it's functions and I haven't had any connection issues, jamming issues or anything like that. It's more of a B- grade. Not bad at all but could be improved.

To start - Canon makes great prints.
I wish the door did not have to be open to use it. Would like to keep it closed to keep dust and cats out. It looks like the paper would easily exit with the door closed. Over 35 seconds to make a double side black and white print from my computer. Sometimes, even when I correctly set up the printer, it wants to use the rear paper feed even though that feed was not selected and no paper is in the feeder. Recommended for a low cost good printer. Just takes time to print and get use to.

This is an excellent inkjet printer. We had one during our temporary move to Southern California. We loved it so much that we had to get one for our condo. Canon had improved the printer within a matter of months. The previous version had a paper installed that was cumbersome. The second series, which we’ve just purchased, solved that problem. I highly recommend this printer for anyone looking for a moderate alternative that has both fast and efficient.

Over the years I had bought one brand of computers and printers and the last one of this brand printer I had I could not believe all the problems I had. I had enough and I went to Best Buy and the person who helped me recommended the cannon printer and it has been so easy to set up and use and was less expensive than the one I had.

I bought this printer because I like the print quality of Cannon printers. Our last Canon died in us after many years of use. Easy to setup with good quality prints. Save money and buy aftermarket ink from Amazon like I do.

I bought this to replace my old canon 7520 as i couldnt solve blurred text on it. This one prints everything very cleanly for both text and photos also look very good. The photo feed is the rear tray so you need the room to have both open if you want. If just text then you need the front. Setup is little clunky for the photos but once you do, it works fine. Make sure you load the set of drivers from the website. It will print text without that but you wont be able to use all features. Wifi over network works fine but sometimes it seems to lose its connection upon asking it to "wake up". You can disable the sleep feature which i recommend if you have a bunch of kids printing stuff for school or work related items. Overall, im pretty pleased with it once i got everything set right. You just need to be saavy enough to do that or it could be a little tricky.

Absolutely love this thing! It print very efficiently and conserves ink pretty well. Bought this as my replacement for HP Envy. Don't buy a cheap printer and expect it to work well.
This thing is super reliable and easy to use. Ink maybe more than HP but it's far more worth it as a printer on general

Although it’s trays felt thinner than those of my previous printer, it’s connectivity and printing ability make this printer a gem. I can print from my computer or my phone. I scanned and then printed out a copy of a much loved professional photo and without any fuss had a high quality duplicate. The ink is also less costly than from my previous Epson. I am happy to review it.

Compact and Canon quality print make this a "good buy". Having to lift the screen and turn on every time is a bit of a nuisance. The light weight nature of the appliance should expect some drawbacks.

A better printer

I upgraded from the worst printer I've ever had, the HP Envy Photo 7855. This new Cannon printer was on sale and is much better and much more consistent. It has the same functionality as my old printer, seems to print about the same speed and quality, but is quieter. Some of the parts and panels do feel a little cheap/flimsy, and as other have said, the ink prices are a little high, but I much rather have separate ink cartridges that can be replaced individually than multi-color ink cartridges that have to be replaced when 1 of the colors runs out. The setup instructions can be a little confusing for a first time printer owner, but it wasn't as hard as some people said. I've only had it a few week, but overall, I would say this is a good buy.l
