Prints high resolution photos Great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned mine about one full year. I love it. The high print quality photos are so detailed and gorgeous it is hard to believe. I previously owned a HP Photo Printer which astounded me thru about 8 years of heavy use. Then it failed beyond repair. I could not find another Photo printer close to the features of this one. I do agree that setup can be difficult, as was mine. The instructions make too many assumptions of the users understanding of what we are being asked to do to get it set up. This model does not have a USB port as some reviews suggested, so I suspect they were reporting on another model instead.

Ridiculous Color Scans
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this scanner about a month ago. Since I had other business to attend to, I just recently tried using it to scan some pen art that I do. This is really why I bought it; so that I could scan art and then print it. The short story is that the scans are horrible. No amount of printer correction will yield a decent result. I have gotten no help from Canon and can not return the item in question. The Photos that I have on my hard drive print very well. But the scans are preposterous. Straight out of the box they are far too blue; the yellows are off (leaning toward orange) and, for some reason, the reds do not seem to be adjustable at all. The hue setting seems to have no effect on them. Instead of scaling smoothly through the spectrum, they will suddenly jump right over orange and yellow to say Green. I tried to clock a piece ever so slightly so that the Orange in the original was the correct color in the output and the results were crazy; everything became chartreuse. I'm not a novice with digital art and color correction. The colors that are being scanned are not correct. Garbage in garbage out, as they say. Orange is simply taken in as Red. This is very distressing since I only just discovered the flaw and am past the return window. In lieu of a return I would like some kind of meaningful response from Canon or Bestbuy. A satisfactory solution would be reason for an updated review.

Good Printer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just bought this printer to replace an older model, which died after several years of good service. On the PROs side, the print quality is very good. Black ink documents print fast and color photo printing is excellent. The setup is easy and within minutes I was able to print wirelessly from my computer and mobile devices. On the CONs side the TS 8220 feels flimsier than my old MG6220 The control panel is at the front, but opens in order to print. the panel extends out and bounces every time one touches the panel. After printing it must be manually pushed down. The top cover of the paper tray must be removed to load the paper. All these are minor things that I will probably get used to with time, but prevent me from giving it 5 stars.

Lots of issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had Canon printers for years and so we bought this one on sale. The Pixma printers we had did fairly well most of the time, but this printer model has problems. When there is paper in the feed, it says that there isn't any. When I go on the computer and specify which feed I am using, it will say that there's a problem. When I try to use a smaller sheet than 8 x 10, it says there is aa problem. Sometimes you can over ride it, but that means that even after going on the computer to print, you have to get up and go to the printer window and select again. The paper got jammed the third time I used it and I'm seeing lots of complaints about it. It is flimsy compared to the other Canon printers we have had. You also have to turn it on every time you used it, so you're sitting at the computer getting ready to print - and nothing happens. You have to get up and turn the thing on. Also downloaded the phone app and I could not get it to print that way either. A very bad purchase and I ended up buying a different brand printer from Best Buy.

horrible
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although the print quality is good, you first must get it to work. I bought this printer a few months ago and have had nothing but issues. First, it was difficult to set up mostly due to a lack of useful instructions. It claims to be connected to my wifi but is never "available", so i connect via usb. Despite having it set to never go to sleep, and to automatically wake, it is offline unless I reboot it, which is slow and noisy. About a month in, it began making horrible groaning sounds from the paper tray, then the paper jams started, every single time i printed or copied. It worked to bypass that by always using the rear tray. That worked (after rebooting) for a few print jobs, but now it prints the first page and I get an error code. It spits out several sheets of blank paper and never finishes the document. My kids never got their laptops/devices to connect so printing homework has been a time consuming process of sharing files and clearing paper jams. Despite little use, several ink cartridges are now low. Pricing a set of cartridges, it will be much cheaper to buy a new printer... and it will NOT be a Canon.

Don’t buy this printer!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this on April 8th, and it stopped working for good on July 19th. I’d have to pay for service, which is ridiculous. These Canon printers suddenly get stuck and won’t print because even if it’s full, it will throw a code that says it’s out of paper. I read posts online over the past couple of days, and this is a common phenomenon. Canon is the only company that doesn’t provide a “Duty” estimate— how many pages it will print in its life. If this happens to you, approximately 10 hours will be used up trying to get this stupid thing to work. And I’m stuck with a bunch of ink I can’t use now. No more Canons. What a shame they let equipment with defects that are systemic leave their factory. Very unhappy.

It will kill me with aggravation
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Using Mac with Catalina Fourth Canon printer. Great until this one. Previously to print a document, photo, envelope, etc., I'd display the item in the Mac, press Print, set tray, select paper type, and press Print. Bang, printer comes on and prints beautifully. But oh no Not this one! Now I must go to the printer and wade through a menu that is often hits a dead end. From the rear tray, it'll say "Load Paper", when the paper is already loaded. I take the paper out, put back in, close flap, and it repeats. ` I wont bother you with details, but all to say I have been on computers since 1967(!) and have been a staunch supporter of Canon. But the bloom is off the rose! I'm on there verge of throwing this out the window. And it's only two months old. I wont give it to Goodwill for fear new owner will come looking for me with a hatchet. Never ever have I had such aggravation. If the printer was in another room, and I had to go back and forth between it and my Mac is a scenario too awful to contemplate.

It's junk
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer is constantly jamming. It jams in the morning, at lunch, at tea time, at dinner, and in the evening. Probably all night long just because. We are lucky to get one page printed before it jams again. This product is a total scam.

bad wifi uses lots of ink
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked fine for 2 weeks. Ran out of all ink after just 40 pages "10 color 30 black and white" thought fine ill get new. Ran out again in under 30 pages all black and white. after ink ran out. Wifi connection would give error. know wonder its on sale all the time. less than 1 month old and it should be in a land fill. Way to go Canon keep pumping out junk printers. FYI all ink refills are more than the printer on sale.

DO NOT BUY THIS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.USeless. It jams, takes ages to print if you're lucky enough to have the paper go through, sticks, wastes time, I mean it's a piece of cheap materials, convoluted instructions, does not work, DO NOT BUY THIS> I'm going to toss it and go back to HP. I'm broke and thought, Canon, they're quality. NO. Not this. It's hard not to swear on here, but seriously, worst piece of plastic called a printer that I've ever used.

Specifications are Wrong
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can't really say much to the performance of this machine, as I never took it out of the plastic. The Specs say it is 12.8 inches wide. When, in reality, it is 14.5 inches wide. This will not fit in the space we need it.
