Do not buy this printer if you print mostly B&W

The printer prints nicely but it consumes A LOT of ink. Constantly gives warnings color ink is low and requires replacement, even if you only print in color occasionally. I've had to purchase so many expensive replacement ink cartridges, I'm going to have to buy an inexpensive B&W laser printer and only using the Canon for color printing. I wish I had not purchased this printer.

You have to have the front cover open to use the printer. It looks silly with the cover facing the ceiling, especially with the control panel being on it. The print quality is fine just a weird clunky design.

Sets up well. Decent software and good printing. Has a paper feed problem from the cassette tray. Paper gets caught on the rear roller but not all the time. Printer turns itself on when request sent to it which is nice. Wish it held more paper. Overall we will use it quite a bit once paper feed problem is resolved

I like Canon printers and it came time for an additional one as I moved my office. I chose the TS9520 because they no longer make the MG7120, and the features best matched what I had. Pros: - You can print (so I read) on 11x17 paper. I print many CAD drawings so this is huge for me. - Five ink colors. Okay, I would have REALLY preferred six like my MG7120. I'll have to compare photo printing closely. - Automatic duplex printing, a big requirement for me. - Document Feeder. I'm sure I can scan legal documents now which simple flatbed scanners (typically) will not support. - Wired connection. I am NOT going to waste my WiFi bandwidth on printing. If a printer can't support Ethernet I pass it over. - CD/DVD printing. I'll have to play with this. Not sure if it can print double sided DVDs or Blue Rays. - SD Card Reader right on the front of the printer, not that I ever used one. I use the computer. But for some this is a plus. Cons: - This first one is huge in my mind. The door on the MG7120 opens up automatically when I need to print. Here you need to have the stupid "operation panel" flipped up and the paper catch tray out in order to print. This makes for a VERY cluttered and messy desk. My printers typically are not in the same room as my computer let alone even on the same floor in the house. Then again I need to do more stairs. - Still uses cartridges, not ink-wells, which I was REALLY looking forward to having on my next printer. They do say there are XL and XXL replacements. - Setup was confusing. Had to hit "stop" on the printer and select "wired" to get the computer to connect. Good thing I'm used to setting up Canon printers. - O...M...Goodness, could they have picked a brighter LED for the power indicator? I think not. - My MG7120 has two paper trays on the front. Lower one I have paper in, upper one photo paper. Again in Pros I mention 11x17 printing, so I would rather have that than multiple trays. I'm sure after some use I'm going to accept the fact it's an ugly printer, and after some time I'll print some photo's using this printer and not my MG7120. No printer is perfect, and this one misses the mark in my mind, but not by much. That said still a good printer. Not perfect, good. I would like more.
