Great small camera - take it everywhere!!

If you want a small point and shoot camera which provides great photos, you've got it in this tiny Canon. I had a previous Elph series Canon which I miss because it had slightly longer zoom, but this one is so portable that you will love taking it absolutely everywhere with you, so you never miss a shot. My photos have been very good quality, I'm very pleased. If you know how to use the Canon menu system this camera will feel like home, if you don't, you will easily learn. Learning when to use auto vs. the non-auto shooting mode is something to play around with, I find that the auto modes often don't use flash when I want it, but is is easy to switch modes and in well lit situations auto is great. I love the color accent feature, as well. My only minor complaints are the following: The poor wrist strap design is a mystery to me... there is no slider that makes it fit your wrist size, just a loop. I took the strap off my old one and used it on this camera. I believe the slowish shot to shot delay is not very significant compared to other similar point and shoots, but be aware that with the flash it takes slightly longer for the camera to be ready for the next picture. By all means this detail would not prevent me from getting this camera. Lastly, because it is so small, it has an average zoom for its size. Great tiny camera ! If you are looking for a point and shoot you will love it !

I spent well over 6 months researching cameras before I finally decided on this one. I had a Canon ELPH APS camera before that was awesome and lasted forever!! As a matter of fact, it still works! The face on the lens of this camera broke 1 month after I bought it! You don't expect a $250 camera to break that easily! Thank goodness I bought the accidental coverage because the Tech guy told me the break wasn't covered! This model is also hard to navigate. You have to take multiple pictures because the flash might not flash or it might flash when it's not supposed to. You also have to wait a while just for it to take a picture. The image quality is not that great and I thought it had an image stabilizer, but it took tons of fuzzy pictures and the objects weren't even moving! The Kodak Photo Share camera I bought in 2004 or 2005 works better than this one. If I had it to do over again, I WOULD NOT BUY THIS model Canon ELPH. I would buy a Kodak or maybe even a Nikon.

this is a fantastic camera!!! the photo quality is amazing! well worth the expense.... we already own a 10 megapixel camera by another manufacturer and we hate it. we definately got what we paid for with our previous camera. if you have the cash to spend, buy this camera. don't think twice!! we owned an elph that was about 7 years old and also loved that one to pieces!!! i'm amazed that such a small and light weight camera takes such beautiful, crisp, clear photos. very high quality! the zoom works so well that sitting 8 feet away from something and zooming in caught intricate details of these i couldn't see with my own 2 eyes!!! absolutely amazing camera!!! shutter speed and recovery is also very fast. after purchasing a new elph i doubt i will ever buy another point and shoot that is not and elph and/or made by canon!!!!

I purchased this camera for personal and business use. The camera is excellent for all of my personal needs. The menu is easy to navigate, so you don't have to carry the book around to figure out how to use the camera. Pictures are clear, and I really enjoy not having to carry and "burn up" all the AA batteries that my 4-year old Sony uses. For business purposes, I needed a camera that had an adjustable ISO so that I could take pictures in varying levels of light. This camera does that quite adequately. The only negative that I have discovered is that I really wish it had a 5 or 10X zoom. But, for $200, this is a great little camera!

Had high hopes with was a good camera. I like the size, fits in a back pocket easily. Buttons are kinda small, but I got used to it quickly. It does take good pictures, sometimes. Took it to a party, and on several settings we had to take the pictures over several times, just continue to come out blurry. What was weird is that there would be 3 people in the picture, one person would come out clear, the rest were blurry. I have tried every different setting, and it still continues to produce blurry pictures. Usually half of the pictures come out good, half are blurry. My brother has this camera too and he has the exact same problem.

Do a little web research on this camera. Do a search for "Cannon Lens Error" and see what you get. I have only had this camera for a couple of months and it is inoperable. The common problem with these is that the lens will fail to open all of a sudden. This camera is adult owned and I have never abused it. Now Cannon wants a hundred bucks to look at it. Evidently they claim abuse once they look at them and will not replace it. I am very disappointed, I wish I would have known this before I was out the price of a brand new camera. I guess I'm off to buy a new one (different brand).

I had and old elph and it was only 4 mega pixels. At that time it had some of the best reviews. Over the years the camera lived up to its hype. I know of two people that bought a sony when I bought my first elph. All they did was replace the batteries and complain about how bulky it was. I got the new 12.1 mega pixels elph for Christmas this year. Wow is a proper word to describe it. It is more compact, has the same great battery life, and a great picture quality. There is not much more a person could ask for.

I did have to wait about 3 weeks because the color I wanted was out of stock, which was cutting it close for Xmas, but it was well worth the wait...After considering alot of other camera's and reading alot of reviews, this was what I decided to get for my daughter for XMas. A little more than what I originally was going to spend, but in the scheme of things I also would rather spend a little more to get ALOT more. And apparently that is what this camera was.

I bought this camera to replace my Sony that I was overall tired of. I'd always wanted an ELPH so I thought I would just go for it. I am definitely pleased with this camera! It has so many options! Like I said, they can be a little overwhelming if you're not familiar with the set up, but won't take that long to learn. It has a powerful zoom that my old camera didn't have and definitely better quality with the higher amount of MPs.

I had a Canon Powershot that was 5 years old. It was a great camera and sadly my friends dropped and broke it. After doing some research, I decided to stick with Canon as a replacement. My accessories from the old camera work with this one (which was a benefit). The picture quality is great. I use this camera for leisure. I am by no means a professional photographer. For my needs, the camera is great!

I love this camera - a friend of mine had an older version and I recommended that another friend purchase it and when I needed a new camera, I purchased this one. I LOVE the color selector feature on it, and the macro feature. It takes wonderful pictures, and there are sooo many settings to use. Read the manual to fully take advantage of the settings -- they're there, why not use them! :)

We decided to try a small, pocket sized camera with the hopes of carrying more often and snapping more photos. However, its so small that it's nearly impossible to turn on without hitting the lens as it opens. The delay in capturing the photo is so long, that you miss every shot (you know what I mean if you have kids). And the auto focus...not so much! RETURNING!!!!

This light, compact camera rode easily in my bag on a recent trip. I was able to grab it and capture quick unanticipated shots. I loved the zoom features, and used that for photographing images from a distance away. This camera was the perfect choice for my needs.

Great product. My first digital camera was a Canon 3.2 mega pixels which was HUGE at that time...I bought in 2000. The camerica JUST died on me this year. I've been itiching to get a new one, so this was my opportunity. Canon is a great product...built to last.

Having owned nothing but Canon cameras, I used a Casio and Olympus for the past year or so before getting this camera. It reminded me that when it comes to great photos, Canons are the best, period.
