Great size camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After not using a camera for a few years, and using my phone, I found this a bit complicated to use. I am sure after my first few times of leaving my phine behind and having to use the camera, it will all come back to me

So-so camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The zoom isn’t as good as I had hoped and bright light throws off the color quality. It also shifts modes unexpectedly.

Good camera, not as easy as advertised
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The camera is great. It takes great pictures and great video. But to get it to wirelessly sync with your PC or Mac takes an advanced degree and a lot of patience!! I finally broke down and bought a cable to transfer my pictures. I was also told by the Best Buy Rep that the phone app could start video. It can not. It can only initiate still pictures. If I had know this I would have probably purchased something else. Pros - Great camera, small, lightweight, easy to use Cons - app lacks features, almost impossible to sync wirelessly (buy the cable!)

Not Dependable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had older models for many years and loved this camera. Then a couple of models ago the reliability went down. I have been using my cell phone mostly or my Canon SLR at times. I saw this on sale because the new model was just announced at The Consumer Electronics show in Las Vegas. I was thinking about returning this camera anyway as the new model also shoots not only JPEG but RAW. I used this camera twice in a 2 week period and then went to the zoo with my grandson and when I went to use this camera it had a problem. It would not come on saying the battery needs to be charged. The battery was just charged and I even tried a second Canon charged battery and got the same message. This is what happened to my older models. I thought Canon fixed the problem by now so I took a chance on this camera. I took the camera back to Best Buy yesterday. The photos were good but the camera is not dependable. I really love this camera too. I have bought this camera as gifts over the years. The bottom line is, no matter how good the photos are if the camera doesn't turn on it doesn't matter. I did buy the extended warranty for security but if you are out somewhere and the camera wont turn on the warranty won't help in missing photo opportunities. I ended up buying The Canon G16 which is an enthusiast camera, has a viewfinder, manual control but less zoom but excellent photos and dependable. If I had not had the same issue with older models I would just say this camera was a lemon. Buyer beware ! I do like Canon overall, but not this model anymore.

Good camera, good price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this camera for my wife to replace an older Canon Powershot point and shoot. She prefers a dedicated camera to using her phone for snapshots. So far this has performed very well, taking great shots regardless of lighting conditions. Speed between shots is minimal, which is important to her when trying to grab a quick snap here and there. It is small and light, so easy to carry. Video recording look great too.

Good little camera
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Takes great pictures in sunlight. Indoor / low light performance is somewhat lacking (as it usually does in cameras with smaller sensors). The zoom is great.

great pics little effort
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for an easy to use camera this could be a good one for you. I've had it for about a month and so far i have been very impressed with the picture quality. Ive used it in low light and natural light and it adjusts well. It didn't break the bank and takes great pics. No complaints.

Amazing features
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is a lot this little camera will do, beyond the full auto mode. I have not even begun to explore all of it yet. I was a little frustrated at first trying to figure out how to set flash to "on". For example, taking a picture of a subject against a sunset, where auto exposure might underexpose my traveling companion in the foreground. I think the old term for what I was looking for is "fill flash". I tried it out on my cat sitting on the windowsill. Cat kept coming out as a silhouette, with the camera exposing for the bright windows. Fill flash would have been perfect. . I finally figured out how to do this in the advanced menu. By then, cat had moved on and I did not get to try it out. In the basic mode, the only selectable flash options I find are "flash off" or "auto flash". It would be nice to have "off", "on" and "auto" on the basic menu rather than having to go into the advanced menu for something this simple. That is the only complaint I have. All in all, I am very happy to find a lightweight camera that fits easily into my pocket that has this much sophistication.

I love this small camera
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am addicted to this camera. It is my 5th in the row. I need to take a lot of photos and tey don't have to be perfect just they need to document whatever is needed for my business. So I use it instead of my phone, becasue I am saving space on my phone. I also take this camera with my on vacations and it very reliable and handy (small enough to keep in the pocket). However I have usually 1 or 2 extra batteries charged just in case). I only which new improved models keep the same batteries so I don't have to buy another/new charger and new extra batteries.

not worth the added expense
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I owned this camera for 52 minutes. It does not come with the memory card or a cord to download pictures to my computer. What started out as a $200 camera would end up costing me over $300. Best Buy gets to keep this camera and I get to keep my money.

Not Mac Friendly

super camera, but difficult manual
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.love the camera, but had difficult start-up process downloading photos due to the almost incomprehensible manual; talk about "lost in translation"! Had to call Best Buy's Geek Squad to figure out the camera.
