Bought this to replace a G10. So far really enjoying this camera

It was easy to carry around. Easy to download picture to my phone.

I'm an amateur photographer, but this is a great camera. I use the automatic settings, but the photos are far better than any point-and-shoot I have used. It is amazing in low light conditions.

I bought this for travel use mainly. I wanted something that fit in a pocket and yet took photos that were better than a phone or point and shoot could produce. I'm very happy to report that this camera excels in that regard! Picture quality, sharpness, color accuracy, low light/night shots are excellent. The tilting/pivoting screen, hot shoe and the viewfinder are major pluses also. Many of the cameras in this class and price range have one or even two of the above but not all three! I've been shooting mostly in auto mode (the camera does a fine job all by itself) with the occasional aperture or shutter priority thrown in. I found that a much higher percentage of my shots were keepers compared to my point and shoots, almost on par with my dslr. Fit and finish of this all metal beauty makes it look and feel like it should cost a great deal more than it does. Better than some of the DSLR's out there. It feels good in my hand, with all buttons and dials right where they should be. If there was one thing I could wish for it would be for a longer zoom. All in all I am very pleased with this purchase.

I bought this camera for a trip to Alaska and it was amazing! The pictures were beautiful, it was small enough to fit in my jacket pocket. Would have liked to have had the location identified when the pics are downloaded

Considered many cameras in this size range for an upcoming trip for which I didn't want to carry my full-frame DSLR. Considered the Sony RX100-IV and the Panasonic equivalent. This camera had best combination of EVF viewfinder, articulating screen, and convenient features. Really like touch screen AF control. Screen challenging to see in bright sunlight but the EVF overcomes this.

We were looking for a small camera to take on trips. We just returned from a trip to Europe and this camera took the best pictures ever!! There was not a bad one in the bunch. We have tried many, many point and shoot cameras, and this one is far superior to any we have had. I highly recommend this camera. It is worth every penny! One thing, though. You must be sure and charge the battery every day. For some reason, the battery life is shorter than other cameras we have had. Great camera over all. I am very happy with it. Very easy to use while on a trip!

my daughter was able to test out this camera's capabilities on our family vacation to las vegas. to her surprise, it held out to her needs for vlogging vid & pic trips! and it is small enough for portability.

The processor on this camera is far superior to any other point-n-shoot I’ve ever owned. I can count on clear images taken in low (inside) light, and don’t have to wait for them to process (= no missed shots or grumpy subjects). The features are many! But you find the ones that are your comfortable ‘go to’ at first, then explore later with the plethora of creative settings. Haven’t come across a single issue with this mid-range camera...super happy I chose the Canon G5 out of all the comparable point-n-shoots!

I like this camera mainly for size and quality. Its very compact its like mini SLR.

This is a do everything camera with an optical viewfinder as well as articulated touch screen and more "Scene Modes" foe every situation than most people will use ( Sleeping Baby ). My picture has been excellent Its only fault I have found is it slow - long time between pictures if you are not using burst mode (2-3 seconds) and have RAW + JPEG files

The reviews were helpful, decided this was the best camera. Lots of settings to capture pictures from up close and far away. Travels well.

Great sensor. Easy to use. Wonderful images. Also excellent electronic viewfinder.

I've used camera only two weeks on the auto setting and been pleased with the focus & exposure and ease of menu use.

Better than a point and shoot; but need to wear apron to carry it in, because it is too big for pants pocket or shirt pocket. Maybe a pants (not belt) attachment would work well. It gets dirty easier. I use it in rundown cemeteries and old historical libraries. Lots of dust in either place. Because of the tilting picture thing on the back, I can adjust better with the differing angles of the sun. I get better focus. When putting the photos on the internet, the focus is better than a point and shoot, but not as good as Ancestry.com photos of censuses and news articles.

I really love this camera because is small and takes great pictures its perfect for traveling.

Im in love with this camera , I'm new to photography and wanted something that was going to take great photos but also be easy to carry around without all the bulk and it is exactly what I was looking for . Love it .

There’s so much I could write here but keep it in simple terms this is one of the best compact cameras I have ever used. The picture and video quality is equal to many DSLR’S . It’s compact form and zoom allow you to capture big shots with a little footprint. It’s a 10 out of 10.
