A great point and shoot camera. Good for a starting camera or back up camera. It's not as good as a dslr but it's more affordable and lighter weight. Battery lasts for about a 3 your outing of picture taking. I'm trying to shoot wildlife so I do a lot of zoom photos. It's pretty good for that. Camera must be stable or the images will be blurry pretty easily. Easy to use. Fun.

I love this camera and though I brought it for my husband as a gift I'm sure I will make good use of it .I love that this camera has wifi because it makes transfering pictures so much easier, the size of the camera is great, not to bulky or awkward. The quality of the pictures are awesome and the price of the cameras was a great price. If I had to buy another camera or suggest a inexpensive camera with great quality I would suggest this one.

I love the simplicity and extra zoom range of this camera. I had an older version of the SX camera and loved it. I could get great pictures using the zoom without the need for changing lenses. This camera has even bigger zoom capabilities and in a smaller package. The pictures are always great and it is small enough to take hiking, to an amusement park or anywhere. If you are looking for a simple camera with great zoom distance, I would definitely recommend this camera.

I think this is a very good to excellent camera. Love the size. Wonderful grab and go type camera with a large zoom.
It took some great photos that were sharp and clear.
My only problem was it did not have a eye piece type of view finder.
For those people used to holding up your camera and composing shots looking at a screen it's a gem. I decided to return it for a model with a view finder that you look through which gives you more stability at high zooms. I would still recommend this camera to those who don't prefer an eye piece viewfinder.

The good...
light weight, easy to use, full HD movie mode, really nice optical zoom and photo quality
The bad...
No RAW! Jpeg only! If you can live with that than its not so bad.
Also do not use digital zoom you will not like it!

I wanted a camera with better optical zoom that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg. This camera meets those requirements. Easy to use, light, inexpensive. The only concern I have is getting good focus on distant objects. Will need to read the manual to find out any good solutions.

I mostly like this camera. It is light. It is easy to hold and take pictures. it is small so it was easy to carry around on my recent vacation. It has the features that I was looking for ( setting to select shutter speed and aperture). One minor fault is that you have to manually lift the flash if needed. Another minor fault is no view finder. I knew both of these before I bought . One negative is that the camera will turn on if you accidentally hit the button to look at pictures. This button is right where your thumb will be when picking up the camera. Lots of times the camera turns on when I did not mean for it to. If this is a setting to change, I have not found it. I have not had it real long so have not tried all the functions on it yet. Despite the negative comments, I am still glad that I got it. It is a good camera for the price.

I have a Nikkon SLR and love it, but it's quite bulky to carry on quick travels. This camera is a good balance between the quality of pictures and its size / weight.

I purchased this camera for my daughter... She likes taking artsy pics. I tried it a couple of times just to see how it was and I was very impressed. It has built-in Wi-Fi and works really great with the Canon smart phone app. We were able to send the pictures directly to our phones Instanly. Also allows remote zoom and taking pictures via app which is nice for group photos and such. It came with a battery, charger, and strap but you will need to purchase a memory card. Battery life is excellent. Highly recommend.

The camera was mentioned by a friend who owns a similar Fuji. After reading many reviews I purchased and found it performs as reviewers wrote. I was most interested in the superzoom and auto/snapshot functions for primarily nature photography and the light weight for packing on long hikes. It was put to the test touring Hawaii and I'm extremely happy with the results/performance. The light/almost featherweight is a big plus. If negatives noted by other reviewers such as not so good in low light conditions and no viewfinder are important to a prospective buyer then one might look for a product that better suits those needs. The wifi function for transferring photos can be a little confusing and time consuming however I had success while in lodging where multiple routers seemed to cross signals in different rooms of our unit. None of the above mentioned negatives were deal breakers for me. A simple fix for viewing the screen in bright sunlight, add a pop up screen protector (you'll need it). Also recommended, a lens hood. It would rate 5 stars if a USB cord and and a pro type neck strap were included. This camera produces outstanding pictures and is a great buy/value.

I bought this camera after looking at a bunch of other cameras and reviews during Black Friday. It is small and so easy to use. I'm just getting into photography and this is a great camera to learn how to become a good photographer. The pictures and videos come out really high quality.

I'm glad I didn't listen to the reviews that I read on here about this camera. This has got to be the best camera that I've owned so far! It takes great pictures and is super easy to use! I've only had it a month now and I've used it at the Nascar race in Dover, DE, camping, at my grand daughters recital and taken lots of pictures of my cats, flowers and sunsets. The zoom lens on this thing is fantastic! The battery last a long time, I've only had to charge it once other than when I first received it. The shutter speed is fast. As for the other reviewers problems with it not taking clear pictures, well, you have to give it a second to focus. Make sure you read the directions, it gives you all you need to know in the book. I highly recommend this camera and at the sale price, you can't go wrong!!! « less

Great pics and does what is needed. My only issue is I bought for my father and he will not like having to pull up the flash when it is needed. It has me rethinking gifting it to him vs someone else. Has way more features than we will probably ever use.

This our 4th Canon digital camera and our first Super Zoom. Very easy to operate, long lasting battery, fairly light weight and incredible zoom. We were considering purchasing an DSLR, but a decent one will run about twice the price. We couldn't be happier with this camera. Takes great pics and HD video. If you are a casual photographer looking for a quality camera to capture life's special moments, then look no further. Great price too!!! Worth every penny.

Canon Power Shot SX530 HS Camera. I wanted a camera with a long range 50x zoom. This one works great. It does come with a neck strap but not a wrist strap. I would recommend getting a soft case to wear when out. It does not come with a USB upload cable for your computer, which I personally prefer a hard wire vs wifi. It does have wifi though. But I ordered a USB cable (about $6 plus shpg) that works great. I also ordered an HDMI cable online ($10 plus shpg) for TV hookups to show pictures. The written instructions are fairly comprehensive. But, the instructions lacked the simple instructions for one to simply hookup the camera to a HD tv. I figured it out with the AV setting. Guess one is just supposed to know this. The photo timer works great. The quality of photos is very very 16 pixel good for this camera. I bought 4-pack of extra batteries and an extra charger. It comes with one battery and a wall charger. But, does not come with an SD card. I bought extra non Canon batteries online for about $14 plus shpg. They seem to work well.. but I will have to try them awhile. Canon Extra batteries are expensive online.
I got extra batteries, So... when I'm out I will have more than enough power and can double charge simultaneously with two chargers in a motel room to save charging time. Takes about 30min to an hour to charge up batteries. I didn't want to spend extra valuable vacation time trying to charge up batteries. I found an extra charger (like new) for about $10 online. The Camera has a large view screen which I like. It has many many specialty features... many which I may rarely use. Ck out the user manual for features online, and also You Tube video reviews. Overall, I feel this camera for the average family use will much more than suffice for both quality videos and photos. It also has slideshow capability. It carries a standard SD card. I bought a Samsung 32gb to start, which some reviews say will hold about 3000 to 4000 photos. I expect to buy a larger SD card to keep from running out of photo/video space while traveling. It seems to be a very good camera for family use. Enjoy.

My 14 year old daughter has been asking for a real camera for a couple of years. I bought this camera for her as a Christmas present. A couple of weeks ago, we spent a few hours driving around just taking pictures. She quickly figured out how to use the different settings and adjust for moving vs still targets. I was a little worried that it wouldn't be easy to use but no problems at all. Also, the image quality and stabilizer is great.

If you don't want to invest a ton in a good camera, this is perfect for you. I was looking for something that took good quality photos, wasn't difficult to figure out (aka did the job for me), and that was a decent price. I'm a beginner and I feel like I understand most of the features of this camera. I still haven't figured out if there is a way to take good pictures while someone is moving (they always look blurry, but I think I need to read up on this a bit more). My favorite feature is that you can send your camera pics to your phone very easily! Overall, I'm very happy I got this camera.
