This Canon Powershot is amazing. I was most interested in optical zoom (digital zoom can be done on computer afterwards - why pay extra for it?) I wanted a point and shoot that made me feel like I had a professional camera. That is what I have with this Canon. The zoom is amazing. The color quality is vivid. It was over my budget but I am so glad I spent the extra money for this camera. The controls are easy to use, the picture is great, and I am very pleased. Took it to work to snap pictures of our picnic. It was passed around with no explanation how to use. We ended up with wonderful pictures. Quick pictures - it doesn't take so long to snap the picture that you miss it. I even got amazing shots of a humming bird, and various other birds in my backyard. Great camera, easy to use = great pictures.

I was impressed with the high quality of photos I took easily with this camera.. just by using the Auto setting. The close-ups came out great.. As I am barely even an ordinary hobbiest photographer.. and definitely not a professional.., I had to ask myself, "Did I take this photo?...wow!!!" I would reccomend this camera to anyone who is looking for something that puts out great quality photos, but where you don't have to end up in huge debt with the purchase price.

An excellent all-around camera for still and video. As I am already familiar with DSLR style cameras, this was a breeze for me to use, but I can see it being very easy for first-time photographers to master. Many great options for auto and custom picture settings. Good price for an excellent camera!

The zoom is really good on this. I love it, but am alos still learning. It's not something a professional would use but definitely a good camera for someone starting out or just as a hobbie. I enjoy it for family functions and plan to go out in the woods and see what cool photos i can take.

It's been about a month since I bought this item, and even though I was worried I should have gotten the DSLR Rebel t7, I am happy to say I like this camera way better. As someone getting into photography, this camera has allowed me to start taking pictures right away while SLOWLY learning the ins and outs of photography. I say this because a friend gave me their old Rebel t3 DSRL, and this camera is simply easier to use and control. You miss out on certain DSLR specific features, but this camera really does a good job getting you started. If you just need a nice camera for a trip and aren't really looking to get into photography, then this will certainly get the job done.

This is just what I needed to start my YouTube channel! The only fault is that I do not think there is an aux cord jack for an external mic. But perhaps I just don’t know the correct mic to attach. Also there is no flip screen so you can see yourself while recording. It’s a little harder if your trying vlog. Other than that great camera!

I actually bought this camera because I signed a contract with iStock/Getty Images to do stock photography. Was using my smartphone and wanted to step up, hence this purchase. This camera adds more pixels, zoom, and give me my first experience with camera settings. I am enjoying it, iStock/Getty are accepting my pictures, life is good!

The camera is wonderful - easy to use, has a great zoom to help with photographing nature (eg eagles in the tops of trees, Orca whales), and fits nicely in the hand. Not having a view finder is a bit of a letdown, as it's hard to see the display screen on a sunny day, but it's a minor setback. Be sure to pack an extra battery or two if your photographic excursion will last more than 3 hours.

I have only had this camera a few days. I like the pictures it takes and is easy to use for the most part. The issues that I have been having is the instruction book must be older or newer than the camera since it shows icons that are not on the camera so have to figure out things on my own by just playing around with buttons. Also I downloaded the app so could download to my phone/computer via wifi and cannot figure this out at all. It is telling me to do things which I do but nothing happens, again telling me to push buttons that are not on the camera. So I like camera, but so far have not been able to transfer the pictures to other devices to share or save.

The Canon Powershot SX540 camera is an excellent purchase. It has a powerful zoom and very easy to use. It is also very light, which is another advantage to it. It is a very good point-and-shoot camera for beginners to use.

Great starter camera. Accessories are super cheap too. Has a few weird settings but I was able to figure them out from YouTube.

LOVE IT! I’ve been wanting a camera for quite some time after the passing of my grandmother and that reminded me to always treasure precious moments because they can be gone in an instant. I didn’t want the most high tech, high cost camera as I would just be taking pictures of family members and such, and this camera was worth it! Not that expensive from all the other cameras I’ve seen and GREAT quality, and the buttons and features were easy to understand.

I had read lots of reviews, some good, some bad. But over the summer last year on our trip to Crater Lake OR, this budget camera took some stunning pictures! The color is beautiful and the quality is amazing for the price. Also, my battery lasted all day. The key is turning the Wi-Fi off to preserve the battery. I'm so impressed with my camera I'm planning on buying one for my husband!
