This replaces our older Canon Power Shot SX120. We were looking for a camera that would eliminate "fuzzy", out of focus pictures. This one does a much better job. We are very satisfied with our choice to buy this camera. It has more zoom; sharper pics; and many more features we are learning to use. I recommend this camera. It is much larger than the 120 we had, so it will take a little time to get comfortable using it, but well worth the learning curve.

I haven’t been able to spend much time with it but it seems so far to be what I was looking for in a camera.

I love photography and Canon is a well known brand name .... but... I bought this for my son as it was available ( the Sony - DSC-HX400 that we really wanted was sold out). He used it for a few days but there was no "joy" in using the camera. It feels cheap and plastic-hollow. The zoom is nice but it just couldn't make it into the "let's keep it" category. So we returned this and bought the Sony - DSC-HX400. LOVE that Sony camera. Sorry Canon : ( just didn't feel the joy.

I got this camera for my wife as her first camera and she loves it she had no real camera experience but she picked up on this one really quick

For the price, this is a remarkable camera and I will recommend it. I can verify its pros and cons as presented by most reviewers but check those out before you purchase. I bought the camera for the specific purpose of videoing my grandson during sports he participates in but have found it to be quite versatile. Being able to shoot in RAW unlike the other long lens camera (Nikon) is a major reason to go with the Canon. Nailed a moon shot on the first try.

I'v always owned Canon. I still have all my film and digital ones. I've been using my G11 but wanted something with a longer telephoto. This camera is great. Longest telephoto I've ever had and take great shots. Even got a closeup of the moon!. I also wanted one with a moveable view screen . No learning curve since most of the controls are the same as the G11. Definitely recommend this camera.
