The options for this camera including the optical zoom, the image quality, and overall ease of use is nice. The quality of the pictures are exceptional and we have not even looked into all of the options this camera has to offer. Canon has a great name in the industry and we hope to be using this same camera at least 5 years from now.

I bought this camera on an impulse buy for the 30x optical zoom and the nice red color, for an after-Thanksgiving sale price. Then I took it home, read some reviews, and most importantly, took a few photos with it. I found the controls a bit awkward. The main mode control was difficult / stiff to turn, and the scene mode selection was down a level and not as intuitive as my current Panasonic camera. I also didn't like having to manually pop the flash up, and the construction / mechanism just looks like it could be easily damaged / broken. I returned the camera.

I wanted a better quality camera, but didn't want to spend a fortune and have a huge, bulky thing to lug around. This isn't the best you can get, but it's way better than my last camera. It has more megapixels and zooms much more, but is still small enough to carry around easily and pop in my purse.

I have previously had 5 other Canon Camera and I really like the brand. They take great pictures with very little chance of not having a super picture. I like small cameras for hiking and lots of traveling and this one is just what I need.

Replacing an 8 year-old Canon camera. Canon was my choice again -- great camera, looking for one for low-light conditions. This will do it plus other great features -- great shots from far distance, nice size so that it always with me...on the go. Highly recommend. Definitely buy if your camera is older. The features are amazingly more advanced! Great value.

I bought this camera just before I went on vacation out West. I used it for a lot of outdoor photography and the picture quality is fantastic. After one of our stops, a friend of mine, who has a professional type of camera, looked at my photos and said that he thought my camera took better pictures than his. The color is very vivid and the photos are extremely clear. The zoom on this camera is particularly useful. I was able to take wide panoramas of ocean views followed by closeup pictures of individual seabirds out on remote ocean islands. I highly recommend this camera. You really get a lot of camera for the money.

I never go ANYWHERE without a camera. I had become less than thrilled with an older Cannon Elph . I wanted something that would perform better in low light and a better zoom. Although this camera is a bit larger than my old one, it still fits fine in my purse and the quality is WAY better

from my Elph 110. I always buy an Elph but decided to spend the extra money and get a better zoom. Camera takes great pictures. The only annoying thing is that you have to turn on the flash manually but I find you really don't need a flash most of the time. I love it.

Our new Cannon was amazing. It was easy to use and the picture quality is very good for the type of camera. A great starter camera that is convenient to use and carry around. We are also very pleased by the service we received and how educated all the sales personnel are. They also went out of their way to help us get the best deals possible.

I own and use 3 Canon cameras that I bought over the years from Best Buy. The SX710 HS is used for travelling via air because it is compact, has a 30x optical zoom lens and a pop-up flash. It takes excellent daylight pictures and remarkably good HD videos. The only drawbacks are that the NB-6 HL battery drains relatively fast compared to the NB-10 L battery that I use in my Canon PowerShot SX 50 HS camera, and the recovery time is relatively long for the SX710 after taking flash images using a freshly-charged battery. Last week I used both cameras (SX 50 and SX 710) loaded with SDHC Class 10 memory cards to take images and short videos in relatively dim rooms that had changing light conditions. The SX 710 produced slightly better pictures and significantly better videos, possibly due to it's newer DIGIC 6 image processor and larger (20.3-megapixel, 1/2.3") CMOS sensor. Outdoor images look equally good, but the SX710's larger sensor would produce sharper images if one wants to make very large (poster-size) prints. If you want a compact, high-tech point and shoot camera that has most of the features found in more expensive cameras, you would not be disappointed by the SX 710 HS.

Got this camera for Christmas. I like to features of this camera - it takes multiple pictures so you can catch action shots. It also has a feature to do different effects as you take the picture. A lot more features than my previous cameras and in a compact size.

This is a great little camera that makes excellent pictures. I am not an expert photographer and will probably never use 75% of what this camera can do. I wanted a camera that is easy to operate and not bulky to carry. The Canon Powershot is exactly what I wanted.

Dissatisfied with the photos from my cell phone, I was looking for a compact point-and-shoot camera that also takes quality pictures. The Canon PowerShot SX710 fills the bill! It'd small enough to fit in a pocket, but with its 20.3-megapixel CMOS sensor and optical image stabilization, it takes great pictures. I recently used it for the first time at the Whitney Museum to photograph a couple of exhibits without a flash. The results were impressive—most of them don't even need color correction. Then I took the camera outside on the roof deck at dusk to photograph the surrounding neighborhood. I was surprised at the detail and clarity of images. Some of camera's functions aren't particularly intuitive. For example, a guard at the museum asked me to delete one of the photos because it wasn't authorized for that painting. I couldn't remember how to delete a photo (first time using the camera), and it wasn't immediately evident as it had been on previous cameras. It was bit difficult to set up the WiFi connection. I couldn't get the camera to connect with my MacBook Pro, but I did connect it to my G4 cellphone. From there I was able to transfer the photos to the Cloud for storage. If I gave it more time, I'd probably manage to connect it to my computer.

I had a Powershot SX 110 IS and it was time to upgrade because the IS part no longer worked correctly in zoom mode. Went on an Alaskan vacation with the 710, took AMAZING pics!! Zoom is great so far. Easy to use overall, like that when it is in auto mode it does what needs to be done. Haven't figured out the Wi-Fi thing yet, though. If I do, it would be awesome.

We got this camera for a trip to Costa Rica. Our pictures turned out absolutely stunning!! I am also impressed with this cameras ability to capture great pictures of our 2 active toddlers! An added bonus is the ease of uploading the pictures to my phone and directly to social media. All in all, this was a great purchase.
