This camera was much more than I expected!

I just bought this camera a few hours ago and have taken quite a few shots with it. I am a beginner in photography as a hobby and wanted a better camera for that purpose. I took a few shots of my cat that I can never seem to catch and they were the best shots I've ever taken of her. I also wanted to see how the camera behaved in low light around dusk and it didn't disappoint. I sat on my front porch and took a picture of the moon and was AMAZED to see detail! My old camera would have made it look like a glowing ball of light. With this camera I saw craters and the texture of the moons surface! I am overly pleased with this camera and it is not even hard to figure out how to use. I also want to thank Travis from the Reynoldsburg, OH Taylor location for helping me decide and for being so helpful overall.

This is a great camera. Plenty of zoom. Takes great pictures but is small in size. Much easier to carry around than a DSLR.

Completely blown away with this camera

I had originally purchased the Sony HX80 but do to a mishap at the store I was upgraded to this Canon. I swear fate was with me that day because this has to be the best little camera I have ever owned. The bells and whistles it contains are amazing and the image quality once you get the hang if rival that of my roommates DSLR. I believe I read a report from someone that stated they were not able to get the pictures off of the camera without a special modem. This is far from the truth. I was able to plug the camera directly into my computer and drag and drop the pictures off. Also the removal of the memory card into a card reader does the same job.. And the wifi option to transfer to my tablet works without the modem at all. The two just connect to each other. Love the Canon app as well. The ability to remotely control this camera has enabled me to take my photography to a whole new level. Thank you Canon!!!

Glad I popped for the extra zoom model

Purchased 2 days before Disney vacation.. worked great right out of the box! Didn't have time to read instructions, just used 'auto' mode and flash when needed. I'm so glad, after visiting Animal Kingdom, that I purchased the model with the extra zoom.... I did get nicer shots of the animals without needing 'digital' zoom.

Great for the Price and Features

I travel a lot and wanted a camera that gave me the most versatility for the price. This camera was perfect and for all the features for the price it really stands out compared to other cameras that are more expensive but don't have the optical zoom and megapixels like this camera. I will be getting a case for it so I can take it underwater soon, can't wait!

    Nice Pictures

I have a Canon DSLR camera but I wanted to have a camera that I could bring with me all the time. I've always liked the quality of images of Canon cameras. This camera is great for pictures where there a lot of light. The zoom is awsome. Video is also great but sound recorded for video is not loud enough. The built in speaker doesn't help to hear what is on the video. It has a lot of features, but I don't think it has the option to use brackets on the exposure for HDR use. My old Samsung point and shoot camera had it. Besides that, it's a really nice camera, not compact but small enough to put in my backpack all the time.

    Pricey But Nice

I think this camera is over priced, but I am pretty much pleased with my purchase. One thing I like about the camera is unlike my older Canon P&S the flash does not pop up automatically. A message in the window alerts you to raise the flash if it's needed. I always have my finger where the flash is located, and on my older camera I always cause it to jam when it tries to pop up automatically. I am disappointed with the detail I get from the newer cameras these days. There is a painterly look to the images if you zoom close when you view the images. My old, old cameras did not do that.

The pictures are crisp and clear. I purchased a 128 gig card for it and went on a week long vacation. Pictures and videos are great. The 40 power zoom is awesome.

Provides crystal clear images along with mega zoom! I looked all over the place and almost picked up a similar model/features camera in the $600.00 rage. Sweet Camera Pack with usable options if you want that instead of auto excellence!

this was gifted to me. It is much bulkier and heavier than I expected. Definitely not a pocket camera as I was hoping. I exchanged it for a different one.

    Wanted to love it....

My beloved sony cybershot broke and I needed a replacement point and shoot. I chose the cannon power shot based on reviews and was hopefully optimistic. I wanted to love it as much as my cybershot but honestly it does not come close in picture quality. Not even close to the sharpness. Must say at this point I am disappointed and will be returning it. Also location of power switch is not good. Should be at edge where the video button is.

Camera Never turned on Broken from Store

Camera never turned on. Talked to Canon and they agreed it was defective out of the box. We tried to return to the store for exchange but as price had changed BB wanted $40 to exchange. Will have to return to Canon under warranty. BB told me I should have purchased Warranty. To be clear it never ever turned on and was defective from the store. Extremely disappointed with product, Canon and Best Buy

I got this camera 3 months ago, and I tried to use it just 2 weeks ago because I was out of the country for a while, the image quality is very very poor, very blurry pictures, you can get better pics even with your cellphone camera!!... I just wasted my money!
